Restaurant 'Hotel De Goudfazant'

Simpy great! Sensationelles 3Gänge Menü zu einem guten Preis. das Essen war erfrischend, innovativ, qualitativ anspruchsvoll und super abgestimmt. Die Location ist Mega cool und das Pupmikum fast nur Einheimische. Das Perdonal total nett! Ich kann es nur empfehlen!

We hadden een reservering om 20:30 en konden pas om 20:50 aan tafel. Dat kan natuurlijk gebeuren, maar het is dan wel netjes om wat te drinken aan te bieden of überhaupt te vragen of we alvast iets willen drinken tijdens het wachten. Nu stonden we een beetje verloren aan de bar. Het eten was prima, 1 van de voorgerechten minder van smaak. De service werd iets minder aan het einde van de avond. Ik vind de prijs van het 3 gangen menu (volgens mij nu 47,50) wat aan de hoge kant voor wat je krijgt.

In 2006, three friends shared a bold vision: to open a restaurant in the northern part of Amsterdam, an area that at the time was defined mainly by depots and warehouses. Twenty years later, the neighbourhood has transformed into a vibrant destination for both locals and international food lovers. As the menu is available only in Dutch, the team kindly helped us with the translation. We began with the mackerel carpaccio, a light and elegant dish, followed by the celebrated “white gold” asparagus, elevated by a phenomenal fenugreek sauce. For the main course, we chose the cod, and to finish, the artichoke ice cream—a truly unexpected and delightful dessert. The entire meal was a wonderful experience. Hartelijk dank aan het hele team!

Absolutely fantastic place for a meal. The restaurant has a unique atmosphere, located in a former car repair garage with the original interior beautifully preserved. The menu is only in Dutch, but the staff are very friendly and happy to explain and translate everything in English. They also have their own bakery, and the bread with butter is absolutely delicious.

My second visit and it didn’t disappoint. I love the atmosphere of this restaurant and the food and drink were delicious and the service warm and friendly. Love the fact that the menu is only in Dutch too- don’t change that. A permanent spot on my Amsterdam list now.

Maybe it was a bad day, but I really could not see why this restaurant is highly appreciated. In my view, the food was quite average. I got the vissoep for the entree, in which the taste did not really fulfill its looks. My main was snoekbaars with beurre blanc, which I would not dare to say was not good, but also nothing really special. I also tried bavette from my friend and that was a disaster. Chewy and zero taste, a standard problem of Amsterdam restaurants, just putting an underwhelming jus de veau on top of bavette does not create a good dish. Please just stop with the unsuccessful bavettes. Yes, it is a tasty and relatively cheaper cut, but for some reason no one can cook it. The dessert was also just dessert. I must admit the wine list is quite nice, very good job with that. However, it is one of those restaurants in Amsterdam that just lacks creativity and taste, but the looks are nice.

Absolutely recommend this place. Hotel De Goudfazant has an incredible vibe and atmosphere — effortlessly cool, spacious, and full of character. What I loved most is that it doesn’t feel touristy at all. It feels authentic, relaxed, and genuinely local. The mix of people is great, which adds even more to the energy of the space. The location itself is fantastic, and overall the price-performance ratio is more than fair for what you get. I was truly impressed and would definitely come back.

Het eten was heerlijk, zeker aanrader om het drie gangen menu te nemen. Glutenvrije opties waren alleen niet mogelijk, alternatief werd helaas ook niet geboden. Dit zou beter kunnen, desnoods tegenover een supplement.

Had a really nice meal here last night. The Yellowfin Mackerel was smoked and tasty. The porkbell as a main was even better. Definitely would eat that porkbell again. Didn't get to try dessert as I had to make the last ferry ride home.

First, the location of this restaurant is beautiful- it’s right by the river and it’s so nice watching the boats go by. The menu is only in Dutch and that worried me since we don’t understand Dutch, but a quick scan with Google translator and we were able to figure it out. The food was amazing and unique. I loved everything I ordered and the food was excellent quality. I went with my niece and we did the 45€ fixed menu and it was a great value. Trust me on the dessert- if it has the word “mud” in it, it’s chocolate mousse and crumbles on top in a pool of crème fresh. Trust me, you should order this!! Everything was so good.

Een leuke locatie met een bijzondere inrichting. We hebben hier heerlijk gegeten en het personeel was erg vriendelijk. Zeker een aanrader!

Hier geweestet een groep van 40 personen. De keuken kan en dergelijke grote groep prima aan. Het eten is met liefde klaargemaakt en smaakt heerlijk. Erg leuke plek!

Slechte ervaring; erg ongeïnteresseerd personeel. Kwaliteit van het eten viel ook erg tegen; soep was koud, groenten niet gaar en na hier iets van gezegd te hebben, kwamen ze er niet op terug. Niet meer heen gaan dus. Lekker naar FC Hyena ernaast of Barracuda.

Great restaurant, one of the few in Amsterdam with a good price/quality ratio. Food was good, service also, amazing wine list. It was very suitable for the large group of 10 we were, the place being huge.

Be aware: this is not a hotel. It’s just a restaurant. The interior is very industrial and with a bit of fantasy you feel in a company party of a big car garage. However, the food is fine and the waiters (m/v) are doing their best. Sometimes it takes some time to get noticed and we had to repeat an order (water, bread and butter: which is excellent btw!). Waiters are often very young. The ambiance is nice and as it is a big industrial hall there is a lot of noice, but we were with very good company and we could hear each other perfectly. We had a great time and fine food, so we recommend this restaurant.

Toppertje in Amsterdam Noord. Heb gisteren weer bij de Goudfazant gegeten. Kom hier al vanaf het begin, maar vond het diner gisteravond heel goed. Ook komen er steeds meer goede vegetarische gerechten op de kaart. Proefde voorgerecht met bieten en dat was heel lekker. Hoop dat ze het in 2026 volhouden.

Blijft een toffe plek op een hele gave locatie. Kom er al jaren en het blijft goed! Nu waren wij er op een zaterdag en het was gezellig druk, dat heeft wel effect op de akoestiek. Overigens is het alleen een restaurant en geen hotel, het is een lied van Brel, haha!

Gisteren met 27 man onze relatie gevierd in De Goudfazant. Wat een geweldige plek is dit toch! We komen er al zeker 15 jaar een paar keer per jaar eten. Deze keer dus met de familie, aan een lange tafel in het midden van het heerlijk volle, levendige restaurant. Alle gasten konden gewoon kiezen van de hele kaart, waarop altijd een paar spannende menu items staan. Dus geen kleinere kaart, maar het volledige menu is beschikbaar voor groepen tot 30 man! De keuken zorgt er voor dat al die heerlijke gerechten tegelijk uit de keuken komen. En de vrouwen en mannen uit de bediening regelen de rest. Vriendelijk, efficiënt, rustig en zonder de hoofdstedelijke kapsones die ons in zoveel restaurants in Noord vreselijk kan irriteren. We voelden ons van begin tot eind, van de reservering tot de uitgeleide, in de watten gelegd! Iedereen was blij, genoot van de vissoep, de biet, de pompoen, de hert, de poussin en de gestoofde prei. Afgesloten met de hangop, kaas of vooral de hemelse modder waar wij al jaren voor terugkomen! Dank!

A very cool restaurant in a unique and fantastic setting, a former garage turned into a stylish dining space. The service was perfect: quick, attentive and friendly. The food was outstanding, the best we had in Amsterdam. Highlights included homemade bread from their own bakery, a delicious Breton fish soup and two creative vegetarian mains. Everything was of very high quality. We absolutely loved it and had an amazing evening.

Leuke locatie, erg luidruchtig waardoor elkaar verstaan lastig is, druk. Rekening klopte niet, stond op de afrekening meerdere drankjes die niet genuttigd zijn. Bediening vriendelijk en vlot.
