Interesting place to visit if you want a break from the amusement park. We enjoyed the hour long tour inside the cavern. The only downside is the higher admission fees, it was ~$95 for a family of 5! We were able to walk in and get tickets for the next available tour with no wait. Remember to bring a sweatshirt, the temple is 52 degrees inside.

Our Families first time visiting a cavern and my kids totally love this place came here on a spring break this place is 15 minutes away from Hershey park, the place is clean and there is some activities for kids to enjoy while waiting for our cavern tour guide, my kids play on the play ground and feed some of the animals around they have some goat, llama, peacock and rooster, when the tour guide came he explained details about the history of the cavern we got to take 72 steps below to enter the massive door to the cave, it took more than an hour to explore the cavern the tour guide is full of energy and that made kids so excited and interested exploring more caverns in the future. Overall This cavern is beautiful and I highly recommended everyone to visit this place whenever in Hershey PA area family surely love it.

🪨 Indian Caverns | A Unique Underground Stop Near Hershey, PA 🪨 If you’re traveling near Hershey, Pennsylvania and looking for a memorable and educational stop, Indian Caverns is absolutely worth the visit. The staff is extremely friendly, and the caverns themselves are truly unique. We’ve toured well-known cave systems like Luray Caverns, Howe Caverns, and even several out west—but Indian Caverns stands out because of its distinct history and storytelling. A special shoutout to Mr. Michael, who leads the tour with a perfect mix of humor, passion, and historical knowledge. His explanations bring the caverns to life and make the experience engaging for both adults and kids. Important things to know before you go: ⚠️ 71 steps down to access the cavern, plus additional steps inside 👟 Wear boots or water-resistant shoes with solid footing ❌ Not recommended: Crocs or slick-soled footwear On-site amenities make it even better: 🐐 Farm animals including goats, alpacas, and peacocks 🛍️ A gift shop with souvenirs and local items 🚻 Clean, well-maintained bathrooms 🌿 A relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere From a safety and preparation standpoint, Property Tenders always recommends proper footwear when exploring natural environments like this—especially where moisture and stone steps are involved. If you’re near Hershey, PA or passing through central Pennsylvania, Indian Caverns is a fantastic stop that blends natural beauty, history, and hands-on learning in one experience. ⭐ Highly recommended for families, history lovers, and adventure seekers. #IndianCaverns #PennsylvaniaAttractions #PropertyTenders

if you like cavern tours this one is a great value. very informative tour guides who obviously love their jobs. Very kid friendly and guides exhibit great patience with questions form even the youngest tourist, nice gift shop but was under renovation when we visited but still plenty to see, including a small animal pen where you can feed some goats and alpacas

A good place for a little family outing! Very interesting visit to the caverns, so fascinating to see a "living" caverns which means the stalagtites and stalagmites are always growing and some grow together and form columns. So many different formations, all unique in their own way!

This is such an interesting place and piece of history. The tour is very fun and informative. Loved our tour guide! We bought tickets in advance because I like to be prepared but we could’ve got them in person too. Our group wasn’t that big. I went in the winter so that could possibly be why it wasn’t super busy. The tour was about an hour and was very neat to walk through the cavern and learn the stories of how it was discovered and who has been in there. They mix humor in with facts which makes it fun for everyone — adults and kids. Tickets are very affordable. Wear tennis shoes or boots — ground is a little wet inside the cavern. The reason I found out about this place was because it was in the Pennsylvania Scratch-Off adventure cards. It was only 20 minutes away from my apartment so I decided to go and so glad I did! Great activity to do on any day.

Cheesy but fun. Michael was a GREAT guide. This is def worth doing. Just make sure your children are old enough to stay in line and enjoy it.

First and foremost, make sure you wear good walking shoes. There are a lot of steps going up and down, and they can get pretty steep. The experience is absolutely worth it, though. The staff is fantastic—they are highly informational, funny, and do a great job of keeping everyone entertained. It is a very family-friendly spot. I highly recommend bringing a lunch if you want to have a picnic, especially since there is an animal feeding station that the kids will find really, really fun. They also have a rock collecting activity where you can pick out your own rocks. As far as amenities go, there is a nice gift shop on-site. There are restrooms available; they aren’t exactly the cleanest, but they get the job done. There is plenty of parking space, but I still recommend getting there early to snag a good spot. Overall, it's a great place to visit!

This cave is a beautiful and incredible place. The natural scenery is truly amazing and definitely worth visiting. The only downside is that the tour guide talks for a bit too long, which doesn’t leave enough time to explore the cave or take pictures at your own pace. Other than that, it’s a wonderful experience and I highly recommend visiting.

Was very informative. Kids thought it was cool to see but talking was too much. They crowd the tours a little maybe 20/30 minutes in-between would be better then 15 minutes. The caverns are beautiful. The petting zoo is goats and 1 alpaca.

Do not bring kids who can't walk. Be prepared to walk. Was kind of pricey I think 70 for 3 kids and me. This is to be expected in modern America. The tour guide Karina and trainee grace were awesome. Knowledgeable n super nice.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Hidden Gem Beneath Hummelstown – Indian Echo Caverns From the moment you descend into the cool, echoing heart of the Indian Echo Caverns, it’s clear you’ve stepped into something extraordinary. This isn’t just a cave tour — it’s a time capsule carved by millions of years and told with passion by guides who actually know their geology and local folklore. The formations inside are stunning — stalactites and stalagmites that look sculpted by divine hands, with a natural cathedral chamber that practically begs for a moment of silent awe. The history? Rich and real. From Native American lore to 19th-century hermits, every footstep tells a story. The grounds are clean, family-friendly, and surprisingly well-kept for a site of this age. Even the gift shop felt curated rather than kitschy. It’s rare to find an attraction that blends science, storytelling, and raw natural beauty so seamlessly. If you’re within 100 miles of Hummelstown, go. This isn’t a tourist trap — it’s a well-managed, respectfully preserved slice of the Earth’s ancient past.

It was a really nice view, however the tour felt extremely rushed and the tour guide had a nasty attitude towards the crowd. This was a one and done experience for me.

Cute place. Nice guide. Not big but a few interesting things to see. Love the petting zoo. The ticket is a bit pricey for what it is though.

I recently visited the caverns, and it was an amazing experience. The underground formations were absolutely beautiful, and you can really feel the age and depth of the place. There’s a lot of history behind how the caverns formed, and our tour guide made it come alive with fascinating stories and facts. They were very knowledgeable and took the time to answer everyone’s questions. Overall, it was a great trip that I’d definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys nature and exploring something truly unique.

Booked a Saturday tour while visiting Harrisburg. I booked it a few hours ahead of the tour to be on the safe side, but appeared to have availability for walk-up guests. While waiting for the tour, there's a few animals outside to view and a small gift shop in the waiting area. Check-in staff was very friendly and helpful on where to go by what time. About 10 minutes before the tour time, they call you to meet out front to go over the tour rules and expectations such as not touching any of the formations to prevent your natural oils from ruining them. After that, it's about a 5 minute walk down the stairs and to the cave entrance. Cave tour was amazing, led by a very knowledgeable guide. Unlike other cave tours, they let you get right up close with the trust you don't touch anything. Tour lasted right at an hour and was worth the entrance fee. Very fun and educational. Worth the visit if you're near the Harrisburg area.

I didn't expect the rock formations to be so huge; they were really amazing, and our guide was great. The kids had a blast and learned new things. Plus, they have a small petting zoo outside!

I went on a Saturday afternoon with my family from 60-4 years old and it was honestly one of the funnest and coolest things I did when I came to visit from NY and it was something different. When you come in you see the animals which were free to see and pet and for 50¢ you could feed them plus a gift shop with some pretty cool stuff then you go down the stairs with the tour guide the one I had was a young kid who was very enthusiastic I think his name was Matthew made the tour very fun and interesting and enjoyable I was there for an hour and didn’t feel like I was my only recommendation if you go is take some comfortable walking shoes that you don’t mind if they also get wet I went in my Yeezys 😂 but definitely was something great and would do it again highly recommend if you’re in the area and looking for something cool and different

This was a fantastic discovery along the way. The guided tour is very informative and fun at the same time.our guide pointed out to different types of rock formations, explained the creation of the caverns and told us stories about the rocks, their names and uses of the caverns. Well worth the hour of the tour. Note - leave your bags and backpacks in your car before going to the caverns.
