Indian Hippy - Bollywood Movie Posters

This store is full of gems. Hinesh is patient, passionate, and knowledgeable. He showed us over 50 posters and described what made them unique. There is a wide price range (some real value for your money!) and eras from pop art to calcutta street style. He is working to preserve what makes both Bombay and cinema culture unique and experiential. Visit him for an evening of wonderful recommendations and beautiful posters. You won’t regret it.

The store is beautiful, amazing variety of posters, great condition as well. Hinesh took us through a range of posters, educating us on the movies and telling us great trivia about the movies as well, highly recommend coming to this store if you're a movie buff or just appreciate art.

I found this place through a Google search as I was planning to visit the Mumbai Bollywood poster museum. Instead of going to the museum I decided to go to Indian Hippy (on the hill to the left) and was absolutely thrilled. Such a brilliant collection of posters, great hospitality and so much knowledge. I left very happy having bought quite a few posters and having seen so many more and learned so much. I could have spent hours here quite easily. If you're into posters, graphic design, illustration, Bollywood, or design more generally, then I think this might be the place for you. A wonderful shop and a wonderful experience. And: posters very well packed in heavy duty tubes.

This store is epic! Make sure to come by here if you have any interest in Bollywood films and vintage movie posters. It’s a nondescript store behind a clothing shop, so make sure to peek through the driveway for the fun logo of the man with a mustache. I shared a photo of the outside. The owner, Hiresh, is super informative and friendly and PATIENT. We spent over 1.5 hours here going through all the posters he has to sell. People who are passion about their business really inspire us and we’re so happy we purposefully came here to shop. We ultimately picked two versions of a movie called “Barsaat,” and he is so nice that he will courier it to our residence tonight as well as we have to fly back home to the states tomorrow. Support Hiresh so he can continue selling these posters and inspire film fanatics and art collectors. We look forward to framing both of our new posters and hanging them in our home.

Amazing experience! Hinesh and Jitu were extremely knowledgeable and accommodating. It felt like a time machine going through the various eras of Bollywood. Hinesh took the time to explain the significance of the art, as well as of the films themselves. If you are a cinephile or a fan of unique art pieces, I absolutely recommend checking Indian Hippy out!

Stopped by on two different occasions to browse the vintage Hollywood posters and ads they have in store. Thw owner, Hinesh, and his team was incredibly patient, especially since I had told them upfront that I wasn’t sure what I wanted and was just looking around. Their collection is fantastic; original Hollywood posters ranging from films of the 1930s to more modern classics. Prices vary widely too, from around ₹500 to a few thousands. I ended up picking up a vintage Alfred Hitchcock poster and a Charlie Chaplin poster, both of which I’m excited to frame and put up at home. The staff was never pushy, just helpful, making the whole experience genuinely enjoyable. I’d highly recommend this store if you’re looking to own original vintage movie posters and memorabilia.

Such an amazing collection, we felt like we were in a museum. The shop owner was super helpful and knowledgeable about each piece. We ended up buying 3-4 posters but enjoyed looking at each individually. All different sizes available as well

This was my first time buying a vintage poster for a friend, and honestly, it turned into so much more than just a purchase. We ended up having a great conversation about the history of Bollywood and how these posters were actually made back in the day. Apart from buying the poster, I walked away with a deeper appreciation for the legacy of Indian cinema it felt like a full experience rather than a transaction. I’d 100% recommend this to filmmakers, film geeks, or anyone who loves cinema. 100/100 for the experience and entertainment, and 1000/1000 for the buying experience. 🎬

What a fantastic little shop in Bandra, Mumbai! It has an amazing selection of vintage magazine ads and movie posters. The owner, Hinesh, offers a wide range of items at various budgets. For travellers, Hinesh even packs everything securely in envelopes or tubes. The customer service is excellent, and it’s a lovely, independent business. Congratulations on 16 years of success! Highly recommended for all vintage lovers.

Indian Hippy is the most amazing poster store. Right in the heart of cinema history in Pali Hill. The team is incredibly knowledgeable about the history and significance of the posters.

This place is incredible! It’s like going to a museum of indian cinema. The staff is hospitable and knowledgeable! they’ll take you on this journey where you can come out appreciating so much about cinema. Such a unique experience! I found a poster of a film i did not know that really spoke to me.

Had a lovely time visiting this store. Got to see some lovely posters - both Bombay and West Bengal print. The type and design of these posters were so beautiful to experience. What a lost art! Wish people do this more . If you have a friend (if) who loves films, this is a perfect gift for them!

One of the best things we did while visiting Mumbai. Spent a good couple of hours here and came away with some beauties. Hinesh takes the time to give you a thorough guide through the amazing catalogue and the guy clearly has so much love for film. Big up!

A wonderful hidden gem full of incredible vintage posters. Truly heaven for Bollywood film and design lovers. Hinesh was incredibly knowledgeable about the history of every film and generously spent a whole afternoon sharing the collection. Will be back to buy more collectibles as soon as I have more room on my walls.
