Tucked away in Aftab Tower, Tehran Smoke House is a cozy little burger joint that seems to have just opened its doors. The space itself feels intimate and promising, but the experience shows signs of a place still finding its footing.
I ordered the BBQ Burger, and while it arrived fairly quickly (especially since I was the only customer), it was surprisingly not hot. I later realized they don’t have an oven to warm the buns, nor do they toast them on the grill. This gave the burger a rather underwhelming texture and taste — nothing particularly memorable about it, to be honest. I mentioned this to the staff after finishing, and they acknowledged it.
On a brighter note, the French fries were fantastic — super fresh, piping hot, and perfectly crispy. Definitely the highlight of the meal and worth returning for.
Another odd detail: despite dining in, they served my burger in a takeaway box, and didn’t offer a plate or even a fork for the fries. No reaction either when I started eating in, which adds to the impression that the team is still a bit disoriented or inexperienced — totally understandable for a new opening, but worth noting.
Overall, there’s nothing particularly special about the place just yet. Still, there’s potential, and I genuinely hope they learn and improve with time. Tehran could always use more quality burger spots — let’s hope Tehran Smoke House finds its groove soon.
