The hotel stay was very good and offered a truly luxurious experience. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and well-maintained, making the stay very relaxing. One of the highlights of the property is the swimming pool, which includes a separate pool for kids as well as a large pool for adults. Another special feature of the resort is its direct access to the beach, allowing guests to easily enjoy the seaside. The landscaping and overall ambience of the hotel are beautifully designed, adding to the charm of the place. Overall, it is an excellent destination for a comfortable and enjoyable stay, and I would highly recommend it.

The only positive aspects of this hotel are its excellent location, beautiful view, and the housekeeping staff, who were polite and did their job well. Apart from that, the overall experience was very disappointing. I stayed for 4 nights with breakfast included, but I did not like the breakfast even on a single day. Idli, medu vada, dosa, and uttapam were poorly prepared, fruit juices were not fresh, and food quality was inconsistent. It seems the hotel does not have a proper professional chef, as even veg sandwich toast came with different ingredients each time. We eventually chose to eat outside, where far better food options were available, and I would not recommend taking packages with breakfast or lunch. The rooms were also not well maintained and very old furniture, the washroom condition was poor, the exhaust fan and some lights were not working, and the AC had a bad smell, indicating poor servicing. There was also no proper wardrobe to keep clothes. I have stayed in many hotels, but this was clearly one of the most disappointing experiences in terms of food quality. Except for the location, view, and cleaning staff, the hotel needs serious improvement in food quality and room maintenance. Simple dosa and uttapam not made properly...Fruits were not fresh, papaya was not properlt rotten and bitter all 4 days . It seems thay have better service to foreign tourist. This can become best if they improve on food service

Great location. Away from hustle of the commercial beach and easy access to a quite beach. Pool is great as unlink most places half the pool is 6-7 feet and yet has a kids section also. Food and service is also ok. Infact, Biryani is great. Only issue would be that as lifts are not there, aged people should look for ground floor rooms.

The location is absolutely stunning — a prime spot facing Kovalam Beach, offering a fantastic view throughout the day. You can simply walk down to the beach or enjoy a refreshing swim in their neatly maintained swimming pool. The front office staff were warm, welcoming, and extremely professional. They made the entire process smooth, right from check-in to check-out. The support staff were equally cooperative, attentive, and always ready to assist with anything we needed. A special word of appreciation goes to the restaurant team. The food was delicious, well-prepared, and served with great care. Each member of the restaurant staff was polite, efficient, and genuinely committed to making our dining experience memorable. Hotel Samudra provided the perfect setting for our gathering — wonderful ambience, excellent hospitality, and an unbeatable location. We left with happy hearts and the fondest memories. I felt it is one of the Best Located Sea Side Resort in Kerala run by KTDC a Govt Product. Rooms are good and we'll maintained. Breakfast was a good spread but dinner Spread can add more items for Rs. 899 + Tax. But the beach is clean and direct access to it. Enjoy Kovalm beach and activities there.

Probably the most on-demand resort in Kovalam! I had booked through a very well known travel house way back in last June and I still did not get my desired room 'Superior Sea Facing' for more than one of the three days we stayed here. The other two days we stayed in a Deluxe room which - as a room - was probably better but the view was not as good although the sea could be seen from the balcony. Food was good, the buffets decently priced though the a la carte menu was absurdly priced! Seems like the perfect place to stay and cover Kanyakumari and Trivandrum. Service is only as good as the individual & the system delivering it. The system seemed fairly okay but some of the younger staff seemed to be absolute duds. Hopefully more exposure here will sharpen their responses. P. S.: You get a fabulous view of the sunset from their private beach...

Awsome location. Neat and clean rooms overlooking the sea. Almost private beach. Sumptuous breakfast with very good variety. Need to improve concierge service, both checkin and checkout. Checkin took lot of time in wait. Checkout, no one came to carry luggage, ended up bringing on our own.

The location of the resort is fantastic.it also has gate to access the beach.the beach is almost private.only few people who are not in the resort visit here and they are mostly foreigners. The food is good but pretty expensive especially at night there is buffet with not great options for vegetarians.the morning breakfast buffet is a wide spread and lot of variety in all types.But what we observed was, if you want to experience the traditional kerala food then not much options.The food options are more for non vegetarians. We had booked the premium season view rooms from make my trip. The room photo in app to what was given to us was different.the alloted rooms were smaller and very conjusted for 3 adults.the room had good view of the sea thou.There is a beautiful swimming pool which is well maintained.

It was really an exceptional stay/dining experience during our stay at ktdc samudra tvm from 24th to 25th. We were welcomed by Rashmi with a beautiful smile 😊, that itself gave the feeling how our government properties now improved. Also special thanks to Nikhita as well, every staff was behaving so kindly , from the restaurant,house keeping , every department works so well. About the property, as you see the pictures in the Google, it's a sea front property with a beach entry directly . More than the beach , inside the property was so beautiful and maintained so well. Food was also nice and hygienic. Highly recommend any one visiting kovalam with friends or family . Great value for money.

A wonderful stay at KTDC Samudra! The location is breathtaking with stunning sea views, peaceful surroundings, and direct beach access. Rooms were clean and comfortable, staff were courteous and helpful, and the food was delicious. Perfect place to relax and enjoy Kovalam’s beauty. Highly recommended for families and couples!

Located in the Samudra beach of Kovalam. Tucked in a serene cove , away from the township. We enjoyed our stay there. We spent most of our time in the resort,rather than exploring the town. The private beach, the sea facing room, the well kept lawn and coconut grove, the restaurant and food served- everything was decent. We were not disappointed. However some housekeeping services were slow.

I have stayed in this property during January 2026. Its location is good. Property overlooks the Sea and there is an access to the Beach from the property. However the structural designs could not envision taking full advantage of the sunset views from the Rooms, despite it being marketed as a Beach Hotel. About hygiene: Moderate. Swimming Pool is good. But the Pool Towels keep recycling without proper washing nor does any responsible person oversees the cleanliness of linen provided to guests. The property has tremendous potential for gardening and landscaping, though there are remnants of well thought out landscaping efforts are still visible here and there. Food: Buffet range and choices are very limited. Mostly Carbo- dominated. Security/ Guest safety: Not up to expectations. Entry gate itself does not have round the clock personnel to check and record entry exits. In general, the Hotel gives more of government guest house feel than a Beach Hotel. Value for money: Medium. Stayed for a day here.. room was comfortable and clean.. location is near beach.. would definitely recommend staying.. Special shout out to breakfast which was amazing.. hotel staff was nice and helped us in every way..

I had visited kovalam from 24-27 September 2025 and stayed in ITDC Samudra hotel. During these days, i loved the hospitality extended by hotel personnel very much and really appreciate. The food served by the hotel is really very tasty and praiseworthy. I am tempted to meet the chef mr.Suvesh and i personally congratulated him for preparing such tasty food. I will definitely recommend my colleagues to prefer this hotel for their stay whenever they visit kovalam. All the best for the KTDC team

Tourists have mind blocks about the levels and quality of service in resorts owned and managed by the Government. This facility would surprise you. If you are expecting a Leela level service, you've to pay that price. I've had a great experience of 2 days of stay in this facility. The best part was the people interactions, be it the restaurant staff or the housekeeping; everyone served with a smile. The property has an amazing location and great view. You have a near private beach to walk into. Ideal place for a group of tourists to enjoy a getaway with nature. I recommend this place and am most likely to go back for another holiday to this same venue

The hotel is superb. But the housekeeping is slow. The people in the reception were very nice. The food is cooked in coconut oil that's why it was not pleasant in our bengali palette, however it is descent. The location is superb. Overall this hotel is awesome.

Great rooms and service in general. Dinner service can get very very slow if you go too late, but the food makes it worth the wait! And this location is premium -- hard to beat the views and vibes!!

My family and I stayed here just a few days ago. The rooms are big. However, the rooms and bathroom can surely be cleaner. For example, there was dust on the wall. Also, because there is many stagnant water in the premises of the hotel, be prepared to have mosquitoes in your room in case you leave the room door or balcony door open. The hotel towels were also unclean. On a plus point, we had a sumptuous dinner here. One final note, there were lots of flies during the breakfast buffet.
