Mandarina Colombo

Came to have the dinner buffet. We quite enjoyed it. When we arrived there wasn't many people, we sort of started the buffet. The spread was ok. Of course there wasn't many varieties to choose from for the price, however it was good. The food was tasty. The desserts were also tasty, not very sweet. Which is great.

We stayed at the Mandarin Hotel Colombo for one night, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. From the moment we checked in, the service was top-notch—the staff was incredibly attentive, professional, and welcoming. A special thank you to the team for arranging a beautiful cake for my husband's birthday celebration! It was such a thoughtful touch that made his day extra special and our stay truly memorable. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. We couldn't have asked for a better experience, even for a short stay. Highly recommend this hotel for its brilliant hospitality. We will definitely be back!

They were kind enough to give us an upgrade and gave us late check out. The food was halal and the spread was good. The rooms were well maintained and they had Quran and prayer mats inside the room which was very helpful. Since it's in the city, it doesn't have a great view.

La chambre était très confortable et bien agencée. Bouteille d'eau, clim, coffre fort, dressing , literie impeccable. Piscine et salle de sport à disposition. Emplacement idéal. Das Hotel und das Personal weißt Licht und Schatten auf. Das Hotel hat einen Renovierungsstau , unser Zimmer wies Schimmel im Bad und abblätternden Putz an der Wand auf. Die Fenster könnten mal geputzt werden. Die Lichtschaltung im Zimmer war etwas unzuverlässig. Das Restaurant war beim Frühstück sehr gut, das Personal dort etwas unmotiviert. Die Tische wurden nicht richtig gereinigt. Das Personal am Empfang war professionell und sehr freundlich. Alles unkompliziert. Alles in allem für den Anspruch des Hotels an die Marke deutlich verbesserungsbedürftig.

1st time to Srilanka chose this hotel for its location. Wasn't disappointed, front of house staff very welcoming, roof top restaurant had a good variety of food most dishes new to me and enjoyed them all. Room facing the road a little loud however still had a great sleep. Small issue with one of the aircons which wouldnt go higher in temp. Stayed on 20 degress just changed the setting to fan.Hotel is spotlessly clean. Looking forward to another stay

Location is good, prices are reasonable Service, I have never seen such good service. The staff is very polite and friendly. We had a high tea buffet on the rooftop. We enjoyed it very much. The food was delicious. The desserts were also tasty, not too sweet. Your hospitality is very much appreciated.

Absolutely terrible experience. We were staying at this hotel for a peaceful vacation and had a serious issue around 1:30AM while I was asleep in the room with my friend. There were extremely loud noises, shouting, and constant racket coming from neighboring rooms. My friend repeatedly informed the manager at reception, but once the situation escalated, the manager completely froze and did absolutely nothing to handle it. What was even more shocking was the audacity of the manager telling US, the quiet guests trying to sleep - to move rooms instead of dealing with the people causing the disturbance. Completely backwards and unbelievably unprofessional. The situation was handled horribly from start to finish. No accountability, no proper action, and no concern for guests trying to enjoy their stay peacefully. Honestly disgraceful management. Would never recommend staying here. The hotel itself wasn’t even great to begin with, and this experience made it far worse.

We had a lovely stay at Hotel Mandarina in Colombo. From check-in to check-out, the staff were consistently polite and helpful, creating a welcoming atmosphere throughout our visit. Our room was clean, well-equipped, and comfortable. We did have a small issue with the TV, which we reported, and the team acknowledged it promptly. The real highlight was the buffet—truly amazing. We enjoyed breakfast there for two days and the food was absolutely delicious, but there was not that much options. The location is another big plus. It’s easy to access to several shopping malls are within a short distance, making it very convenient for sightseeing.

Average hotel around 1 hour from Colombo airport by taxi. Clean functional rooms, okay bathroom overall perhaps could do with some updating. Checkin was pleasant and the receptionist explained clearly as I was early (11am) the room was not ready and to return later (2pm) which was fine as this is as per hotel policy. My bags were kindly stored which was great. Location seemed okay, I was easily able to walk and find cafes and food. The hotel is conveniently located opposite a convenience store which closes at 10pm. The downside I would say is the lifts. The hotel has 2 lifts that serve 11 floors plus basement parking and staff also use these lifts as I don’t believe there to be a separate service lift. This means you can often have quite a wait to get up or down. On top of this you may find yourself in quite a narrow lift and then a baggage trolley is also pushed in. Didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment on that and didn’t use the rooftop pool either which looked compact but again functional.. Would I stay here again: provided it’s at a competitive price then I wouldn’t hesitate..

We stayed at Mandarina Colombo for 3 nights and it was honestly a 10/10 experience from start to finish. The hotel has a modern, clean, and very relaxing atmosphere that made our stay truly enjoyable. The rooms were spacious, well-maintained, and super comfortable. Everything was spotless, and the bed was perfect after a long day out in Colombo. The city views from the room added a really nice touch, especially in the evening. One of the highlights was the rooftop area. The pool was clean and had an amazing view, making it a great spot to unwind and just chill. The food was also impressive, with a good variety and great taste. Breakfast had plenty of options and everything felt fresh and well-prepared. The staff were extremely friendly, polite, and always ready to help with anything we needed. Their service really made a difference and added to the overall positive experience. The location is also very convenient, close to many key spots in the city. Highly recommend Mandarina Colombo if you’re looking for a comfortable and relaxing stay in Colombo. Would definitely come back again!

This hotel is very convenient & excellent value. We had both buffets for breakfast & dinner & we thoroughly enjoyed the variety & quality of the food & service. The room was spacious with a small balcony so you could test the day before leaving. Highly recommended.

Horrendous stay at this hotel! Firstly had lunch while waiting for the room to be ready… this was inedible, absolutely disgusting. Then got to the room, on first impressions it was okay. On floor 10. The bed was so squeaky it was awful to sleep on. Throughout the night all you could hear was the chairs scraping around int he restaurant above and noise. This went on until 2am so not sure if they were cleaning at that time. There were constant doorbells ringing throughout the night as every room had a doorbell. They’re so loud and sounds like it’s your own so constantly woken throughout the night. It was just not fit for purpose, had about 1 hours sleep before a very long day of travelling the next day. Upon check out the guy who checked me out didn’t even communicate or say anything to me. He just showed me the bill for the awful lunch. Never asked how the stay was or anything. Never said a work at all!! Not great customer service. I would say avoid at all costs… oh and the photos are misleading as no sea view. A big building being built in front.

Don't book wait, I would honestly like to take the owner of this property on a short trip to show what a real 5-star hotel experience feels like—because this is nowhere close. The swimming pool has serious safety concerns. There is no separate area for kids or even a basic step for height adjustment, which is unacceptable for a property claiming this standard. The restaurant felt like a second-grade setup. The food was decent, but the spread was very limited and not worth the price. The room was disappointing. Who installs a noisy split AC in a so-called 5-star hotel? It was ineffective and uncomfortable. Room service was only good after multiple follow-ups, which shouldn’t be the case. Overall, this stay was not worth the money. You’ll find many better options in the same area. Don’t rely on star ratings—check real reviews before booking.

I had a really lovely stay at this hotel. The staff were extremely warm and welcoming, and the overall atmosphere made the experience very comfortable. The rooms were clean, well-maintained, and everything was organized perfectly for a pleasant stay. One moment that truly stood out was the kindness of the front desk staff. One of the girls at the reception thoughtfully made a cute little handmade toy for my daughter, which meant so much to us. Such small gestures really show how much the staff care about their guests and made our stay even more special. Overall, it was a wonderful experience and I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable stay with genuinely kind and attentive staff.

We were an Indian family of 4, booked 2 rooms for 1 night stay at 6th floor. Rooms were clean, spacious. Bed was excellent to sleep. Morning buffet was excellent, different options were available along with an ongoing live kitchen. Location is excellent, opposite to the hotel is Marino mall with tasty food options like curry stop. Prayer mats and Quran is also available. I am very happy to have stayed here

I had a great stay at Mandarina Colombo overall. The location in Colpetty is definitely one of its biggest strengths, with easy access to nearby malls, restaurants, and cafes, making it very convenient whether you’re visiting for leisure or work. The rooms were impressively spacious and comfortable, especially compared to many other city hotels, and everything felt well maintained. Breakfast was decent with a good variety to start the day, not exceptional but consistent and satisfying. The only downside during my stay was the recent construction happening on the opposite side of Galle Road, which has unfortunately blocked what would otherwise have been a great sea view. Overall, still a solid choice for Colombo, particularly for its location and room size.

We were really disappointed with the iftar buffet at Mandarina Hotel this year. At 5,900, the quality did not match the price. The food overall was poor, and we couldn’t enjoy it—only the porridge was good, since you could have it multiple times. But that’s not enough for this price. Worse, the service was frustrating—staff stood around in one spot, chatting, and didn’t even look at us. We had to wave them down just to ask for a fork, and they didn’t bother clearing plates. Last year’s iftar was much better, but this year, we don’t recommend it

My recent stay at Hotel Mandarina Colombo was disappointing. From the moment we arrived, there was no assistance with luggage, and no valet parking service available. For a hotel that presents itself as a higher-standard property, I expected a better arrival experience. The biggest issue occurred during check-out. My car had been parked in a position that made it extremely difficult to exit. While trying to maneuver out, there was a very minor contact with another vehicle. The vehicle belonged to a person named Maduranga, who was known to me as the hotel’s IT Manager. However, he claimed to be an outsider and immediately demanded LKR 10,000 for the minor incident. What was even more disappointing was his attitude and manner of speaking. He repeatedly addressed me as “Machan,” which I found highly unprofessional. I was a paying guest of the hotel and expected to be treated with respect and courtesy. The entire situation felt poorly handled, and I was left with the impression that someone was trying to take advantage of a minor accident. A hotel of this category should maintain higher service standards and ensure that staff conduct themselves professionally. Guests’ vehicles should also not be placed in situations where such incidents can easily occur. Unfortunately, because of this experience, I will not be staying at Hotel Mandarina Colombo again.

A great start to our Sri Lanka trip. The pool is excellent with superb views for the morning swim. Food also very nice. What stood out was the very helpful & polite service team. I lost my phone, & the management team did what they could going out of their way to ensure it's safe retrieval. Thanks for that! Bohoma Ishtuthi!
