Most zachwyca surową, industrialną konstrukcją, potężnymi stalowymi łukami i charakterystycznym kolorem, który pięknie kontrastuje z błękitnym niebem. Największym atutem jest widok – z jednej strony panorama dolnego Manhattanu, z drugiej Brooklyn i kultowe ulice DUMBO. Spacer pieszym przejściem lub przejazd rowerem to czysta przyjemność, szczególnie w słoneczny dzień. Wibracje miasta, dźwięki metra przejeżdżającego nad głową i otaczająca architektura tworzą niepowtarzalny klimat Nowego Jorku.

Manhattan Bridge offers one of the most striking urban views in New York, especially from the DUMBO side. The contrast between the industrial steel structure of the bridge and the historic brick buildings around it creates a very distinctive atmosphere. Walking around this area feels energetic yet relaxed. You get a clear view of the bridge framing the street perfectly, and it is a great spot for photography at different times of the day. The surroundings are lively, with people stopping to take photos, walk around, or simply enjoy the neighborhood. What stands out is how seamlessly the bridge blends into the city landscape. It feels less touristy compared to some other landmarks, but still very iconic in its own way. If you enjoy architecture, street views, or just exploring New York beyond the usual spots, this area is definitely worth a visit.

From Flow Juggle, the juggling and flow-arts shop at 145 Front Street, Brooklyn, NY 11201 — directly facing the DUMBO anchorage of the Manhattan Bridge — this bridge isn’t just a landmark, it’s part of our identity. Opened in 1909, the Manhattan Bridge is NYC’s youngest East River suspension bridge, engineered with an experimental truss system that changed modern bridge design. Subway trains still thunder along its outer edges, a rare setup that once caused intense vibrations and required a massive restoration completed in 2004. Step outside our door and you’re at the Pearl Street Triangle — the cobblestone wedge where Front Street, Pearl Street, and the bridge anchorage converge. Once a 19th-century industrial yard, today it’s one of DUMBO’s most photographed public spaces: framed by the steel archway overhead, echoing with train rumbles, and alive with street performers, skaters, artists, and visitors. It’s not just scenery — it’s New York’s most electric outdoor stage.

Esperienza fantastica…

Great spot to stretch your legs, get some exercise in, and enjoy amazing views of NYC, especially downtown. The Brooklyn Bridge may be more iconic, especially in the age of Instagram, but this less crowded twin offers a much easier time to walk and/or capture jaw dropping photos. Plus, and no knock against the Brooklyn Bridge, I think the Manhattan Bridge, because of its design and the angle it takes across the East River, offers better views of the city.

Cool bridge to look at. However if you have to choose between to walk this one or the Brooklyn Bridge, definitely walk the Brooklyn one (it gets very loud on the pathway of Manhattan Bridge because of the trains, like really really loud). Good views of the Brooklyn Bridge and skyline behind.

Not as majestic as Brooklyn Bridge. Still worth a nice walk and the view towards the other bridge. Train is extremely loud but I have nice memories from crossing it.

A really great walk back from Brooklyn to Manhattan, this isn’t as clean tidy and tourist prepared as the Brooklyn bridge is. But it is a much quieter walk back, with no stalls trying to sell you things or lots of people all grabbing photos in front of you. The views are as impressive as the Brooklyn bridge all be it not as easily taken due to the wire fencing. A great walk on a nice day, if you want a more relaxed and quiet walk back definitely give the Manhattan bridge a go.

NEW YORK Megosztom veletek a new yorki élményeimet. Fantasztikus élmény volt a Top of the Rock kiáltóról a panoráma.

The Manhattan Bridge is one of the bridges that connects two boroughs in NYC, Manhattan and Brooklyn. It offers transportation for vehicles, the subway, and bicycles/ pedestrians. While in Chinatown, my boyfriend and I decided to look for the Manhattan skyline viewpoint, which is located on the pedestrian path. The pedestrian path is on one side of the bridge, while the bicycle is on the other. Beware though, there are bicyclist that rode on the pedestrian path, and there are many runners that take this route. The bridge is quite long, at over 2 miles. It took us almost 40 minutes to walk across, with stopping periodically to take some pictures. Since it is quite long, make sure you are dedicated to the trek, because once you're in it you either turn back around or push through. It was quite empty on the bridge, with folks walking by at some points but mostly you're by yourself. This makes it a little spooky, especially at times when the subway runs by, the whole bridge shakes and is very loud. You are also caged in so it's pretty safe while walking. There are a few holes in the fence I think created by passerby's at pretty view points. Although the journey was long and my boyfriend and I were quite exhausted by the end, it offered breathtaking views of the city and Brooklyn Bridge, that are worthwhile. Plus, we got to explore Dumbo in Brooklyn afterwards. Overall do this if you want a challenging adventure with unique views of the city.

Beautiful urban views and less crowded than Brooklyn Bridge The Manhattan Bridge offers stunning views of the NYC skyline, Brooklyn Bridge, and East River—especially during sunrise or sunset. It’s a steel suspension bridge connecting Chinatown in Manhattan to DUMBO in Brooklyn, perfect for walking, biking, or photography without the heavy crowds you’ll find on the Brooklyn Bridge. 🕒 Best time to visit: Morning (before 10 AM) for peaceful walks and soft lighting. Golden hour (just before sunset) for incredible skyline views and photo ops. 🚶♀️ Pedestrian entrance: From Manhattan: Canal Street & Bowery (Chinatown side) From Brooklyn: Near Washington Street in DUMBO 🚴♂️ Bike lane and subway lines (Q, B, D, N) also run across the bridge. Ideal for anyone wanting a more local, authentic NYC experience with postcard-worthy views.

The Manhattan Bridge is a suspension bridge that crosses the East River in New York City, connecting Lower Manhattan at Canal Street with Downtown Brooklyn at the Flatbush Avenue Extension. Designed by Leon Moisseiff, the bridge has a total length of 6,855 ft (2,089 m). The bridge is one of four vehicular bridges directly connecting Manhattan Island and Long Island; the nearby Brooklyn Bridge is just slightly farther west, while the Queensboro and Williamsburg bridges are to the north.

A raw, underrated NYC gem with unbeatable skyline views! The Manhattan Bridge offers one of the most authentic and breathtaking walks in New York City. While it doesn’t get the same tourist buzz as the Brooklyn Bridge, it delivers amazing views of the Brooklyn Bridge itself, the East River, and the Manhattan skyline — especially during sunset. The pedestrian and bike paths are separate, making it a calmer, more local experience. You’ll feel the rumble of the subway trains passing by, which adds to the gritty charm. The bridge connects Chinatown to DUMBO, so you can enjoy great food and photo ops on either end. Highly recommended if you want less crowds and more real NYC.

accidentally walked THE ENTIRE Manhattan bridge to China Town thinking it was the Brooklyn Bridge. Got this typical NYC skyline pic from a hole closer to China Town. Long walk, but wasn't too unpleasant, even in the winter, just very loud because the train passes right next to you.
