I recently purchased a standing lamp from Marina Home for AED 8,900. The lamp itself is beautiful, unique in design, and a real statement piece, which is why I fell in love with it immediately. Unfortunately, the service that followed completely ruined the experience. The lamp was a display item, as no boxed stock was available. Only once I got home did I realize that the bulb was missing, despite the lamp being displayed with one in the showroom. At no point was I informed that such an expensive lamp would be sold without a bulb. When I called Marina Home that same evening to ask which bulb I needed, I was initially told that Marina Home never provides bulbs with lamps. Ten minutes later, I received another call admitting that a mistake had been made and that this specific lamp actually does come with a special dimmable bulb. I was told to come back to the store to collect it. What’s unacceptable is that I had to chase this myself, received completely contradictory information, and was never offered a simple delivery solution (Careem/Uber), despite the inconvenience caused. To make matters worse, when I arrived at the store, the manager again insisted that Marina Home never supplies bulbs with lamps, directly contradicting what I had been told earlier. For a brand positioning itself as premium, this level of disorganisation, lack of accountability, and poor customer service is shocking. Additionally, Marina Home does not offer installation services for pendant lamps—you are expected to arrange everything yourself. They may “have contacts,” but again, the responsibility is pushed onto the customer. Beautiful products, but extremely disappointing service. I would seriously reconsider making another high-value purchase here.
