Maya Bay is one of the most breathtaking places I’ve ever visited. The sheer beauty of this iconic beach exceeded all my expectations, and it’s easy to see why it became so famous after being featured in The Beach. From the moment I arrived, I felt like I’d stepped into a postcard-perfect paradise. The first thing you notice is the dramatic limestone cliffs that surround the bay, creating a sense of secluded serenity. The turquoise water is so clear you can see the sandy bottom even from the boat. The sand is soft, powdery, and incredibly white—perfect for walking barefoot. The lush green landscape adds to the dreamlike vibe of the place. To help preserve its natural beauty, access to Maya Bay is now limited and boats aren’t allowed to dock directly on the beach. This system is a fantastic way to protect the ecosystem, but it also means you’ll need to swim or wade a short distance from the boat. Honestly, it’s worth the effort. I really appreciated the environmental efforts in place. There are signs everywhere reminding visitors not to litter or disturb wildlife, and some areas are roped off to protect the coral reefs. Our guide shared a lot about the bay’s history and its ecological importance, which made me feel like I was contributing to preserving this beautiful spot for the future. That said, the beach can get pretty crowded even with visitor limits. It’s best to go early in the morning to avoid the rush. You’ll also want to book your tour in advance since spots fill up quickly. If you enjoy snorkeling, you’ll love the waters around the bay. They’re full of marine life. It was both peaceful and exciting at the same time. it’s an experience. The stunning scenery, the crystal-clear water and the feeling of being surrounded by nature make it unforgettable. Even though it’s popular and can get crowded, it’s a must-visit if you’re in Phuket. A quick tip , bring a waterproof bag for your things, wear reef-safe sunscreen and don’t forget your camera. Trust me, you’ll want to remember every moment here.

Maya Bay is sadly no longer worth visiting. It's now just an overcrowded tourist photo spot, as you're not even allowed to go in the water and have to pay a high entrance fee for it. There are so many more beautiful beaches in the Phuket and Krabi area than this overrun tourist spot. Save yourself the trip and the money and go instead to some truly beautiful, less crowded beaches where you can actually swim and snorkel ;)

This beach is absolutely stunning! The scenery is breathtaking, with crystal-clear waters, soft golden sand, and beautiful surroundings that make it feel like paradise. The atmosphere is vibrant, with plenty of activities and people enjoying the sun and sea. However, it can get quite crowded, especially during peak hours, making it a bit difficult to find a quiet spot. Despite the crowds, the beach’s natural beauty makes it well worth the visit. Just be prepared for a bustling environment, and if you’re looking for some peace and quiet, try to visit early in the morning or later in the evening.

Krásná voda, úžasné okolní skály a celkově velmi příjemný zážitek.

Must visit when in Thailand. Pristine blue water and lots of activities. Can do Scuba here or just chill on the beach. The beach is crystal clear. Best time to visit is Nov to Feb. Would not suggest to stay here for the night. A day’s visit is enough. Take a boat from Phukhet.

Beautiful bay and amazing to see the baby black tip sharks but I think that it would be better if there were limited numbers of visitors as there were plenty of tourists flouting the rules just for an instagram picture that 100,000 other people already have. I understand that the area needs to generate revenue to support the conservation efforts but I think more can be done to prevent over tourism. Personally I didn’t feel the need to visit the bay but it was part of our tour. And although it is very beautiful I couldn’t help but feel a bit dystopian with all the tourists and the warnings

Maya Bay is like a dream come true! The water is so clear and blue, it looks like a painting. The sand is soft and white, like sugar. It's the most beautiful place I've ever seen. I felt so lucky to be there. Even though there were some people, it still felt peaceful. It's a must-visit place! I loved every minute of it.

Maya Bay is one of the most beautiful beaches and islands I've ever seen in my life. We were lucky enough to take a tour before sunrise, leaving at 5:30 AM, and arriving just as the island opened, so we had it all to ourselves. The beach is absolutely stunning, with crystal-clear water and dramatic cliffs surrounding it. While swimming is not allowed to protect the environment, it's the perfect place to enjoy the surroundings and admire the breathtaking landscape in peace. If you have the chance to visit, going early in the morning is highly recommended for a tranquil experience.

Extremely popular and iconic beach, The sand is so soft, at the moment you are not permitted to swim in the bay in an effort to conserve the sharks. An inteseting walk from the docking area to the actual beach. Well worth a visit.

Absoluter Traumstrand!

Maya Bay has crystal clear waters, beautiful landscapes and picturesque views. It is well worth the visit! Due to the damaged ecosystem, tourists are not permitted to enter the water for swimming, boating or any other activities. This is to protect the corals and baby sharks that have returned to the bay since it was closed to the public.

Maya Bay is a must-visit for its natural beauty and unique atmosphere. However, it’s important to be mindful of the environmental impact and potential crowds. Visiting early in the morning or during off-peak seasons can enhance the experience. Try to reach as early as possible, beach gets crowded by 10-11am Swimming is not allowed 🚫 You can see shark 🦈 very near by to beach! Location ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Beach ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Blue Water ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Cleanliness ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Vollkatastrophe.

Very scenic and captivating bay & beach.. pristine and well maintained with a lot of greenery and wooded areas covered by cliffs all around. Getting to to this place from the pier itself is a long walk and you will only see it after a roughly 10 minute walk through the forest. It can ger crowdy, but I believe they do have restrictions on the number of people allowed per hour . After the movie "The Beach" was shot here, its popularity soared and saw some unwanted effects of over tourism forcing the authorities to shut the beach , for the sea life to recover.....no more swimming allowed here and the result is there to see.....getting here by long boat from Phuket or Krabi will take time....a speed boat will cut the time ... overall a good spot not to miss, if you ever have Phi Phi islands on your plan, no matter where you get from.

We arrived around 9 am with our tour, a strategic time to beat the crowds that arrives from 10 am onwards. This beach has one of the most stunning views, with crystal-clear water and exceptionally soft sand. By walking towards the right side of the beach you might be able to see some little sharks. It's undeniably a must-see destination. Recently reopened after a closure of three and a half years, the place now operates with added restrictions. I believe these measures are essential in preserving this little paradise.

Maya Bay, located on the stunning Phi Phi Islands in Thailand, is truly one of the most breathtaking tropical destinations I have ever experienced. Surrounded by towering limestone cliffs on three sides and opening into crystal-clear turquoise waters, the bay looks like something straight out of a postcard. The soft white sand, vibrant marine life, and dramatic rock formations create a magical atmosphere that feels almost unreal. The moment you arrive, the natural beauty immediately captures your attention. The water is incredibly clear, allowing you to see fish swimming near the shore even without snorkeling gear. The cliffs rising vertically around the bay provide a sense of privacy and grandeur, making the location feel both peaceful and majestic at the same time. It’s easy to understand why this place gained worldwide fame and became a must-visit destination for travelers. One of the best parts about visiting Maya Bay now is that conservation efforts have helped restore much of its ecosystem. Visitor numbers are controlled, and boats are not allowed to enter directly into the bay, which helps protect coral reefs and marine life. This makes the experience more organized and environmentally responsible compared to the past. Walking along the beach feels serene, especially during early morning visits when crowds are minimal. However, reaching Maya Bay usually involves a boat tour, which can sometimes feel rushed depending on the package you choose. The tropical heat can also be intense during midday, so carrying water, sunscreen, and light clothing is essential. Despite these minor inconveniences, the beauty of the place more than compensates for them. Overall, Maya Bay is a dream destination for nature lovers, photographers, and anyone seeking a slice of paradise. The combination of emerald water, dramatic cliffs, and soft sand makes it unforgettable. It’s not just a beach — it’s an experience that stays in your memory long after you leave. I would highly recommend visiting at least once in a lifetime.
