Very good and professional service, Doctor was thorough in her examination (just wanted to edit it to say it was Dr Meseret as I see others also really appreciated her!) and also very helpful staff. The only small problem i had were the toilets, most of the seats were not clean and some had no toilet paper, if that gets looked at I would give it a 5 star review.

Go to this hospital at your own risk , such horrible service I got . I wouldn’t even say it’s racism they just don’t care about their patients . I will never forget the treatment I got at this hospital . I went to this joke of a hospital with a child with special needs , we were left alone while collecting a urine sample. Everyone knocked off I only realised when I was about to get a cup for the urine that we were left alone. They were quick to bill us for the same tests. Jokers ! Wicked wicked hospital . I wish there was a way I could make this review worse to reflect just how horrible my experience was . Please whatever you do don’t got to this hospital.

Very Terrible first experience, First they charged us a consultation fee. Then they went ahead and ran a bunch of tests without fully explaining to us what they are or how much they would COST. We where asked to pay a total of 4200 for 3 minutes of consultation. we got nothing but X-rays and pain medication. Everyone , from the Doctors to the nurses are working together to make sure you pay so much! we rejected this and only paid for what we where aware of. They where so angry just to show you it was all a coordinated scam. There priority is your money not you!!! Bad experience.

Editing my review from 1 star to 3 stars after over 10 months of using Medland for my child birth. My wife did all her antenatal here and the OBGYN, Dr. Hanan was exceptional (she's no longer at the hospital). Shout out to Natasha, Dr. Mercy, the midwife crew and particularly the Senior midwife there who did magic with her experience. I still think the hospital needs improvement: - We spent about 12 hours in the maternity and no doctor came through. It was only at about 6am the following morning that the new doctor (Dr Shaw... forgot how to spell) came in, apologized for her "busy schedule" and and literally checked for a minute and left as if all was fine. It wasn't! - 3 days in the hospital and no wifi access was given (there is however a guest wifi but everyone I asked for the password claimed they don't have which I know is lies - I'm in tech). - Mosquitoes and bugs couldn't let us sleep at night due the window not shut correctly. It was difficult to notice because the windows were reversely closed leaving a hold in the middle. - 5 minutes in the maternity ward and one of the midwife's were pressuring about going downstairs for payment. I smiled because that wasn't the first time. It seems it's part of Medland's training. Funny because I told her I want to make sure my wife is okay before going down. - Still got pressured about payment/clearing the bill downstairs on our last day when they had not figured out the bill and I repeatedly told the midwives not to send me downstairs until they are sure the bill is ready - they still did! - Medland needs to work on their billing process and communication flow. --------------------------------------------------- My old review from January 2024: Receptionist seems confused for a private hospital. I have been sitting here at the hospital over an hour 10 minutes ago when my appointment was set over the phone. Back and forth with two different nurse, had to retake my vitals again. Zero! Not coming back here again

Pharmacy Alinaswe pharmacy at Medland hospital is quite disappointing. For a pharmacy that supplies such a big prestigious hospital it often doesn't even have basic medication in stock, like antenatal supplements. Have often had to go fill my prescription elsewhere.

The only option in Lusaka basically if you need 24/7 care. Do not expect much, service is very slow even the emergency room is slow , you need to be register before a doctor can see you even during an emergency. Also you need to pay for meds ahead of time before they can administer what you need during an emergency. So If you come with a real emergency and no other family member you are basically dead since you can get up yourself and go to the pharmacy and pay and then come back to your almost dead position. Doctors are not well trained maybe one or two. Pediatricians don’t know anything about kids so don’t even bother going there unless your kid is dying and you have no choice. I would google everything they tell you before you give them meds because they don’t know the kids dosages. I went to see a doctor to check my cholesterol and she told me to ask the pharmacist for the best prescription. Most of my time there is people ignoring me and pretend they don’t see me. They are not willing to help in any form. Yes it’s all real ..all the above happened to me and I am not making this up.

I had a disappointing experience at Medland Hospital. After paying K800 for an initial consultation, which lasted only 2-3 minutes, I was asked to undergo tests (K3500) and return with the results the next day. Shockingly, when I returned with the test results, I was asked to pay another K800 consultation fee. I find it unfair to charge a second consultation fee, especially when the initial consultation was brief and didn't provide any substantial diagnosis or treatment. I would caution others to consider the potential costs and efficiency of their care.

For me it's the best hospital in the country, no contest. Yes it's a little pricey, but it's totally worth it for the quality of care, speed of service, and technology.

I’d like to take a moment to appreciate one of your doctors; Dr. Meseret Woldeyes for her exceptional care. I found out recently that she has treated both my mother and me on separate occasions, showing such genuine interest and compassion that we each felt like family. Five stars to her! A special shoutout to Mr Chellah as well for his warm and welcoming reception—his kindness makes the hospital feel less like… well, a hospital! My family and I visit Medland regularly, and our experience has been mostly positive! While there are occasional long waits despite appointments—understandable given the patient load— also the newly outsourced pharmacy has been a slight inconvenience, the only thing that made this less than 5 stars.

A bit more professionalism and courtesy would go a long way here. I arrived to request a malaria test and confirmation that my fever was nothing else. Before receiving any information, and while sat on a bed with a fever the receptionist stood by my bed with a card reader asking for payment. No explanation, no consultation and not even an invoice or breakdown to show what tests were being run. I finally received an invoice, which needed correcting, before I paid and had malaria confirmed. I promptly discharged myself rather than stay in the hospital at their recommendation so they could probably charge 5000-6000k+ for a night in the hospital. I believe there are a number of other private and better priced hospitals than this one in Lusaka. If you are able to do some research and read a few reviews, you might give this one a miss until they learn how to treat patients with a bit more respect

THE WORST HOSPITAL IN ZAMBIA! This is my second visit to Medland Hospital. While the first visit was atrocious, this follow up visit is somehow even worse! I made an appointment through the switchboard to do a full medical exam. I was requested not to eat for 15 hours. When I got to Medland, at 08:00 hours after my 15 hour fast, the Doctor asked me to see claims to confirm that my insurance would cover the tests since I was not ill and the tests were voluntary. Every time I tried to follow up with one of the staff at the reception or the nursing station, I was directed to a different person to start my explanation again. Eventually, the claims supervisor told me that he had emailed the list of tests to my insurance and was awaiting approval for the tests to be done. I was there until 12:30 hours with zero tests done. As I left, the reception assured me that they would call me to reschedule my appointment once the approval from my insurance was obtained. When I contacted my insurance several days later, they informed me the approval had been granted to Medland less than 30 minutes after the list was sent to them. Armed with this information, I called Medland to inquire on why I had not been contacted to reschedule my tests. A very nice and polite lady by the name of Natasha helped reschedule my appointment and assured and apologised to me for my horrible experience during my first visit to Medland. I showed up for the rescheduled appointment after fasting for another 15 hours and everyone was clueless as to the approved tests that should have been in the system! For a hospital of Medland's calibre, I expected a better standard of care, especially considering these expensive tests have been paid for through insurance. However, I have had an experience worse than I have received from oorly staffed, free government hospitals overwhelmed with patients. This will definately be my last visit to Medland Hospital because I would not want them to attend to me when I am actually sick.

I'd advice any decent human being not to use this hospital. I went there really sick and I was supposed to be admitted. I got to the hospital around 11am and couldn't see the doctor until an hour thirty minutes later. Before seeing the doctor, I was made to pay the consultation fee. Which is already a red flag because normally, you handle bills after your treatment is done. After the doctor saw me and send me to get some tests done, it was not a nurse who came to see me, it was the accountant demanding payment. Eaelier As i was paying the consultaton fee, i told them that I'd be better if they just let me know of the charges and I'd settle the bill after my treatment. But no, they insisted on paying for the lab tests before they could be done to which I obliged. Before the labs were even done but right after a few came out, I was supposed to be admitted and sent to the emergency room before that. There, the admission processor came not to get me a room but to ask me to pay for a room. At this point it was 6pm and they canulated me in readiness for treatment. The admission manager told that I'd have to pay the whole full amount of the treatment begore getting trdatws for me to get treated. I mentioned that I wouldn't be able to pay for it at that time because I had exceed my payout limit for that particular day and I even showed the admission officer and about 3 of his colleagues the massage evidence from my phone. After that and an hour of waiting for absolutely nothing while the admission officer chat with his friends, , I was l was told they wouldn't be able to treat me unless I paid. So since I couldn't get cash or any other mean of paying, I was kicked out of the hospital after they removed the cannula the had previously put in me. After this, I went over to get my refund for some tests they weren't yet done. Despite them wanting immediate payment for anything, they failed to pay me my refunds immediately and insisted they'd pay the following day. How hypocritical of them to expect customers/patients to wait a couple of hours for their refunds while they can't wait and give treatment but would rather kick a willing-to-pay patient out in the night for the same reasons. The emotional distress the physical and mental distress caused is worth suing this pathetic excuse of a hospital for. This is not a hospital. It's a Tuesday market. We can't call it a supearker even because in supermarkets you are allowed to shop around and pay once you are done and satisfied. If you love your family and want decent treatment, DON'T GO TO THISOMWY GRAB OF A HOSPITAL. CHOOSE ANYTHING ELSE ASIDE FROM THIS.

Horrible experience. Service is absolutely terrible and the staff is very rude and unhelpful at the reception especially. Would not recommend for emergencies at all.

Service is okay but rather slow... too slow actually. If you have an emergency , go elsewhere. Other private hospitals respond quicker and with more urgency. This has been my experience the few times I and my family have been here. They might also bill you for services you did not obtain especially if you are on insurance or company scheme. Always check your bill before walking out. This happened to me and the only reason I was given for the unidentified extra costs was that there was lack of proper transfer of information between the outpatient and the cashiers... These costs were eventually removed after I provided evidence of not accessing those services. It is rather weird that departments don't share information considering that everything is computerised. Lastly, some nurses are quite rude as suggested by other reviewers.

Dr. Meseret has been thorough with her assessments/ investigatios, I am so glad nearly everything was checked just so we could identify the real problem.☺️ I have never been attended to like that by any other health practitioner in such circumstances (as long as I recall) ... And yet she did a very good job! Her passion rides above just it being a 'job'. Dear. Dr. Meseret, please continue to look out for others with your deep sense of intuition and clarity- it will go a long way.🙌 All I know is we plant seeds everyday. It is up to us to choose whether we want to plant good or bad seeds... I don't know the right words to use, but THANKS A LOT! 🙏 Additionally, my fears were calmed down by James (CT scan room) and the lady in radiology (x ray... forgotten her name) during the general x ray and CT SCAN; I am so grateful for their empathy. Not as the least: The receptionists are also extremely supportive and accommodating, offering guidance step by step- Chella especially 👏 👏👏👏 ....so I don't want to get sick ever again 😔 but I look forward to sharing good spaces with them due to their humble attitudes.😀

Great experience as a first timer. I barely waited to be helped when I checked in. When you have an appointment, they will spend the whole scheduled period with you if need be. The staff is always helpful and my experience with other medical professionals in this office has always been above my level of standards.I had a great visit and the doctor’s demeanor has really put me at ease so I highly recommend this clinic. It's clean and neat and one of the best in Lusaka..

Beautiful, clean, large hospital with a variety of services. The phones are answered quite quickly and their charges are reasonable (depending on the service required of course). If I had to request anything it would be to have payment points at both lobbies as opposed to one. They have their own schemes as well.

I was told this is THE hospital to go to. My first visit in an emergency situation at 4AM left me waiting for hours for a drip and some form of attention. On the most recent occasion I self-requested a malaria test. It's now 24 hours later and I have not received any results because the person supposed to send the results "leaves at 17:00". Not only was I never given an option to see a doctor, but now I'm being told I can only get meds for the malaria once I see a doctor that can prescribe the meds. What happens if I was critically ill and had 24 hours to go until I pass away? Oh well, guess we'll get the phlobotomy results when I'm in a casket.
