If you’re walking around Central and craving something sweet, Gelato Messina is a fantastic stop. The gelato is incredibly creamy with very rich flavors. We tried three flavors: Hokey Pokey, Pistachio Praline, and Chocolate Lychee. The Hokey Pokey was smooth and buttery with crunchy honeycomb pieces that added a nice texture. The Pistachio Praline was outstanding — deep pistachio flavor with a nutty sweetness that felt very premium. The Chocolate Lychee was surprisingly refreshing, with the floral sweetness of lychee balancing nicely with the chocolate. The gelato texture was silky and dense, and you can really taste the quality of the ingredients. It’s a great little dessert stop in Central whether you’re finishing dinner or just taking a break while exploring the area.

Messina 嘅Gelato 有好多款味可以揀，大部份都好有特色，仲有幾款香港限定嘅口味，我哋叫左一杯3球、一杯2球嘅Gelato ， 比較推介以下口味： ……………………………………………… Tofu Fa 豆腐花 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5個口味之中，最推介豆腐花味，豆味好濃郁，加埋紅糖，真係豆腐花咁嘅味，但係gelato 嘅口感，好味。 Black Sesame Tong Yuen 黑芝麻湯丸 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 黑芝麻味好香濃，甜度適中，Gelato 裡面亦混合左小丸子，不過小丸子始終雪過，口感有點偏硬。 Hong Kong Milk Tea 港式奶茶 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 有奶同茶味，港式奶茶嘅還原度唔錯，不過我覺得茶味可以再濃味啲。 ……………………………………………… Messina 嘅價錢比一般Gelato 店貴少少，但係真係有好多特別款揀，而且可以試食過覺得啱食先決定，所以都value for money 嘅！

Good ice cream, generous portions, and friendly service made this a solid stop overall. The scoops were definitely on the large side, which was appreciated, and the staff was attentive and welcoming throughout our visit. While the ice cream itself felt a bit overhyped compared to expectations, it was still enjoyable. The real standout for me was the Hong Kong French toast flavor, which absolutely hit the spot and was rich, comforting, and satisfying. I opted for the cookie add on, but it ended up being a little over baked, so next time I would stick with a waffle cone instead. Overall, this is a good place to satisfy a sweet craving, especially if you enjoy creative flavors and big portions. I would happily return and try a few different combinations on a future visit.

$70 for 1 scoop, $85 for 2 scoops, so basically everyone gets to try two flavors. The gelato tastes pretty great, the texture is alright, and the portion is generous too. We don’t have many great gelato specialty shops in Hong Kong; Messina gets it right.

Messina is my G. Unbeatable, period. I went to Italy tried like 20 gelatos and tried almost every famous gelatos in Hong Kong, Messina is still my absolute fav. I agree it’s one the sweeter side in terms of gelatos, but I don’t mind as i have a seeet tooth. I guess you should go get salad if you can’t accept sweet desserts. Desserts are meant to be sweet, period. Tried almost all flavours, personal ranking is : 1. Hokey Pokey ( if you like honey ), 2. Tofu Fa ( rich in yellow sugar and ginger flavour, best tofu fa flavour gelato you can find in HK ), 3. Coconut lychee other recommendations based on mood : Dolce de leche, pistachio, cinnamon roll ( they had it before but it’s seasonal ), sesame tangyuan, peach sorbet

This was our second scheduled stop for today. After visited Tai Kwun just walk slowly back down towards Central to find this the best Gelato shop in Hong Kong. This place was known to us from watching on the YouTube, the channel by " two girls press play ", a food blogger duo that my wife and I watch to be informed on the newest and some of the best eating places in Hong Kong. But be careful when looking for this place as the path outside this Gelato shop is sloppy and are made of granite, so it can be very slippery if you are wearing heels or when it rains. Even though this is our first visit, but felt familiar to this place due to the number of times that we have watched the video clip. For our two scoops in a tub, we selected "macadamia crunch" and "super dulce de leche". The first spoon has putted us in ecstasy, the super dulce was creamy and sweeter than the macadamia one, which is light and refreshing. Had we know the taste of their gelato earlier I would have gladly add an extra $10 to have the three scoop deal for $95. If you happens to be visiting the central area of HK, then you must make time to can come this gelato place with at least a hundred bucks in your pocket to be spoiled and be put to heaven with a three scoop tub. See my photos for their selections. Their servers are very nice too, they will let you to sample different flavours before deciding on your order. I will come here weekly if I live in Hong Kong. It's just magnificent!

Immensely popular ice cream shop in Central; tried the HK limited egg tart flavour but it was somewhat lackluster and disappointing (doesn’t quite resemble the taste of egg tarts except for the flakes ostensibly there to mimic the crispy part of the tart); comparatively Knee’s Bee was a lot better (should probably have gone for the milk tea instead); the cone was also below my expectation Clean but noisy environment; wish the shop had some seating arrangement service instead of letting customers fight for the seats themselves

▷solted caramel & white choc HKD70 Sydneyでいってハマったジェラート屋さん。 香港にもあるとのことでいってみた。限定フレーバーがあるし、1スクープがめちゃくちゃ大きくボリューミーなので満足度も高い。 どの味にしてもクオリティが高く、本当に美味しい！ ただ、大きいので味は飽きのこないものがおすすめだと思う。甘すぎるとキツく、ティラミスやコーヒーなどのbitterめなものがちょうどいいかもしれない！

Long queues. Would order one cup to share as portions are massive. We both could not finish our orders. Ice cream was ok, not sure about the hype. I had the chocolate fondant and a malt flavour of the day. My husband has pistachio praline and chocolate mint. The chocolate fondant after a few bites became too much/too one note. The malt was ok. The pistachio praline is more vanilla with bits of candied pistachio rather than a pistachio gelato with pistachio bits. The mint was not the typical choc mint you think off but tasted more of actual fresh mint leaves. Next time I will try the sorbets for a lighter option.

Great exclusive flavors. The tofu fa stood out as well as the black sesame. One scoop is never enough. Diet starts tomorrow.

Messina in Central is my perfect weekend treat! 🍨❄️The shop has a great vibe and an incredible selection of gelato. On this visit, we tried three scoops: the refreshing Coconut & Lychee, my forever-favourite Honeycomb, and a new special, ‘Look at da Crema’. The latter, a coffee and hazelnut gelato with hazelnut whip and coffee crunch, was the standout winner – an absolute must-try. Every flavour was beautifully creamy and rich. I always leave Messina happy, and this trip was no exception. It’s a truly delightful spot for any ice cream lover🥰🥰🥰

Hong Kong Milk Tea Gelato HKD 55 香港獨家口味, 外觀是典型港式奶茶的淡咖色, 舀起來濃稠不見冰晶, 味道紮實還原出其”茶香先行”的特色, 茶香於口中停留, 而後散發出香濃奶味, 但不搶戲依舊是茶多奶少的比例, 味道層次耐人尋味。

Went there after hearing good things about the place. Had pistachio and panna cotta with fig jam and amaretti. Both are unpleasantly sweet - drinking corn syrup straight would be a more palatable experience. The texture is acceptable and the flavours are there, but they are completely overshadowed by that sickly sweetness. Whoever formulated the recipes must have damaged taste buds and a fast track ticket to type II diabetes. Giving 2 stars for trying.

Cool icecream, large range of nice tasting flavours. Price is decent compared to other ice cream places. HK Milk Tea flavour unique to the shop was a favourite

個人覺得太甜！是一間裝潢很漂亮有質感的冰淇淋店沒錯～來自澳洲連鎖品牌，但可能是我個人因素覺得真的很甜吧不然味道是蠻好的，一球不便宜可以先跟店員要求是吃味道，我點的是芝麻麻糬和蜂蜜的～但真的很甜哈哈哈哈

Great ambiance and music choice! Love the HK special flavours ... especially the tofu fa!
