Midtown Grill

The Midtown Grill is located inside the Marriott Amsterdam hotel. I visited here for dinner as part of my birthday celebrations in the city. I do recommend having a reservation, as I was previously turned away here earlier on in my trip, and it can get pretty popular. The interior is large, with interesting artwork and large booths, giving it a premium feel. It is a little pricey, but nothing too extreme considering it is the main restaurant inside a five-star hotel. For allergens, there is a QR code on the regular menu, which leads to their allergen menu. I do think having physical copies of their allergen menu could be useful and perhaps making this clear, especially in regards to cross-contamination, for example the french fries are listed as not containing gluten on the menu, however my server advised me that they were fried in a shared frier, making them not suitable for coeliacs/allergy sufferers - I just feel this should have been clearly stated on their allergen menu. My server was excellent and tried to make my experience as good as possible, as she knew I was in Amsterdam to celebrate my birthday, even offering a Crème brûlée with two large flames at the end of the meal as a dessert. The only thing I didn’t like was before ordering, they gave me what felt like a long sales pitch on the steaks, explaining every one in detail, carrying around a meat cart, while I get this is useful information for those considering steaks, I just felt carrying raw meat in a tray around a restaurant and leaving it in the middle of the dining area was rather strange. I had a long wait for my food, but it was worth the wait. I went for the roast chicken and truffled mashed potatoes. The chicken was cooked perfectly, and the truffled mashed potatoes were creamy, amazing, and so delicious. My server did guide me to order extra sides, mentioning it probably wouldn’t be enough food if not, so I did order an extra bowl of mashed potatoes, I did find that much of the mashed potatoes to become really rich and overwhelming, I would have liked slightly more chicken, or other vegetables to balance out the dish but the flavours of what was served, were definitley on point. I loved the extra features at the end of my meal, which felt like a spectacle, and something which you’ll remember for a long time, including being able to toast my own marshmallows on a flame and the Crème brûlée. I had a good time here and enjoyed my food and I would for sure return during future trips to Amsterdam.

Op de socials zag het er veelbelovend uit. Helaas was het in real time toch anders. Eten was lekker maar niet bijzonder. We hadden het menu van 99 euro en voordat ik mn hoofdgerecht op had werd er al afgeruimd. Het kwam vrij gehaast over. Al met al een gezellige avond gehad maar niet voor herhaling vatbaar

We celebrated our anniversary here and had an amazing experience! We ordered steaks and French fries — everything was absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked. As a lovely surprise for our special occasion, we were treated to complimentary desserts of our choice, and even a small bonfire with marshmallows, which was such a unique and memorable touch. We were truly delighted! The service was outstanding: the waiters were very attentive, regularly checking if everything was okay and making sure we felt comfortable. Fantastic atmosphere, excellent food, and top-level service. Highly recommended — we will definitely come back!

Végétariens s'abstenir. IL s'agit d'une table où l'on déguste de la très bonne viande. Les différentes pièces proposées sont présentées emballées sous vide pour que l'on puisse se faire une idée de la pièce que l'on souhaite choisir. Pour nous ce fut le Chateaubriand avec une sauce en option. Les frites sont excellentes et le vin d'accompagnement dépendra de vos goûts. Ce n'est pas donné, mais c'est très bon. Un petit reproche sur l'espace. Les tables sont serrées , si vous êtes à proximité de personnes bruyantes, cela peut vous gâcher la soirée.

We had dinner at Midtown Grill and had an amazing experience. They were hosting a special event featuring premium beef cuts from Latin America, and everything we tried was excellent. The ribeye, in particular, was absolutely outstanding — incredibly flavorful, perfectly cooked, and honestly one of the best steaks we’ve had in a long time. What made the evening even better was the service. Simos, our server, was friendly, professional, and genuinely attentive throughout the night. He made us feel very welcome and really elevated the whole dining experience. We will definitely visit again!

De service was echt dusdanig slecht dat ik er nooit meer zal gaan. Zó bijzonder goed zijn de steaks overigens niet. Ik miste ook de ‘grill-laag’ op de steaks. Niet op hoog temperatuur gegrild? De smaak sprong er ook niet uit. Sausjes ook flauw. Mijn steak thuis is vele malen beter, dus wat het hier bijzonder zou maken is mij onbekend. De carpaccio was heerlijk daarentegen. Maar terug naar de service. Het hoofdgerecht kwam een uur later dan gewenst. De tafel werd ook heel laat afgeruimd. De serveerder was overal en nergens. Drinken besteld en ook dat duurt makkelijk 25 minuten terwijl de tent niet vol is. Glimlachen kennen ze ook niet echt. De kale man die de steaks kwam brengen was in de war met welke van onze steaks medium moest en met welke saus. Hij kwam te gestrest over en een glimlach zat er ook niet in. Ik vond dit restaurant geen fijne sfeer hebben. Stijfjes en dan ook nog eens gemiddeld eten met de slechtste service ooit. Leuk voor de toeristen.

We started with carpaccio and scallops, which both where very good. But for the carpaccio where the meat was already fatty, it was a bit too much mayo. We had a tomahawk for sharing which was very good and came with different sauces. The extras as mashed potato and vegetables are also sharing sizes. The service was fantastic when we first arrived, but as the restaurant started to be full with guests, the service became way slower and more busy.

I shared a delicious cote de boeuf with my boyfriend, which was smokey and juicy! The pumpkin and bone marrow were great sides, and the service was great! Thanks to Claudia, Maija & Manoto for taking amazing care of us, we had an unforgettable date night 🤗 Oh and leave room for dessert!

The atmosphere was wonderful and the food was excellent — we had the Chateaubriand, which was fantastic. The only area for improvement was the service: not once were we asked if everything was okay or if we’d like another drink. When I finally managed to wave down a waiter and ordered a beer, it never arrived, and I couldn’t get anyone’s attention again. There were enough staff on the floor, but the waiters were rushing around like headless chickens. The open kitchen, however, was a delight to watch — very professional and a pleasure to see in action. Despite the service, we’d definitely come back.👏

This is a lovely spot for breakfast with a nice mix of choices. The buffet is well organized and clean, offering fresh fruit, assorted pastries, pancakes, different types of cheese, and spreads like jam, honey, and butter. They have scrambled eggs on the buffet, but if you’re like me and prefer a different style, you can order your eggs freshly made just as you like. They also have several fresh juices, along with tea and coffee. Although the buffet is not very big, it has enough variety to suit most tastes. I especially liked the muffins and hash browns. The staff are very friendly, and I’d like to give a special thanks to Imola for her warm smile and excellent service. She always makes sure we have everything we need.

Our dinner at the Midtown Grill was a highlight of our trip. The service is top-notch and the food and drinks were delicious. I have Celiac so need to eat gluten-free, so there were lots of options, including the fries. We each had the grilled chicken and shared sides of asparagus and truffle fries, then shared the cheese board and sorbet for dessert. It was all divine. The roasted marshmallows at the end were a lovely way to top it all off. Highly recommend!

Fuimos 5 amigas a cenar. Sin reserva. Nos trataron fenomenal. Atentos y educados. El camarero cuyo nombre empieza por O y por no apuntarlo no lo puedo repetir. Pollo y pulpo a la brasa riquísimo y verduras y puré de patata casero. Vinito de la tierra. La decoración, preciosa. Si tienes la oportunidad, ideal para ir en el pareja, familia o con amigos.

I don’t even know where to begin. We were greeted by a lovely lady in green and felt welcome right away. Gino helped us choosing our steaks by explaining all the parts of the beef (how they do it is a surprise you should see for yourselves). We tasted the picanha, the chicken and the tenderloin and all of it was just soooooo delicious. As I’m writing this I can seriously go for seconds. The tiramisu for me was a personal favorite. Best tiramisu I’ve tasted and I’m very critical about my tiramisu it’s not even funny. We got a surprise afterwards as well but that all you just have to come and find out for yourselves. We definitely will be back! Thank you guys again and a special thanks for helping me celebrate my fathers birthday!!!

Amazing hospitality by the waitress right from the entrance to the table. The restaurant that does a superb breakfast in the morning and a very popular steak house by lunch . I love the decor and atmosphere every time I step in. The spread though average in quantity is just perfect in terms of quality. A La carta egg menu is available at the table and ordered with your coffee table service.

Went for dinner at the weekend, steaks were cooked deliciously. The waiter explained the whole menu in great detail. The price tag is probably average. But the rest of the food was quite average, nothing special, we had caesar. The fries were typical Dutch fries, not French fries(((

We had an amazing time here dining with friends! Steve was very hospitable and explained every dish with detail and care! Maria welcomed us and made us feel like home. Great experience!

"Heerlijk gegeten en een topontvangst! Vooral de tweeling in de bediening deed het erg goed; ze presenteerden de diverse vleessoorten op een kar om te laten zien wat je precies gaat eten. Ze gaven een duidelijke uitleg en hielpen ons met gericht advies om de juiste keuze te maken. En natuurlijk ook een dikke duim omhoog voor de Spaanse kok! Een erg fijne ervaring en we komen hier zeker snel weer terug."

Great atmosphere at this restaurant with quality food. Our waitress Claudia was very prompt and professional, I had the chicken breast which was just delicious! Thanks Chef Aluaro. Top notch!! Dessert was also delicious and we even had a surprise serving of marshmallows that we cooked on our own cast iron cauldron. Such a nice treat! I’d definitely eat here again

We had a wonderful dinner here. The food was great and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We took the Tomhawk as main. It was worth every penny. I especially liked the touch where you got to choose your own special knife for it. We really liked the decor in the restaurant as well.
