An absolute treasure trove of India's history and culture. For just ₹20, the National Museum offers an incredible experience that is both educational and fascinating. The collection is vast and beautifully curated, covering everything from the Indus Valley Civilization and ancient sculptures to miniature paintings, manuscripts, coins, textiles, and artifacts from different periods of Indian history. The galleries are well maintained, informative, and can easily keep history enthusiasts engaged for several hours. Every section offers something unique and provides a deeper understanding of India's rich heritage. A must-visit for students, researchers, tourists, and anyone interested in history, art, and culture. Exceptional value for money and one of the best museums in Delhi. Highly recommended! 🇮🇳🏛️✨

That was awesome. If you have energy to walk for 6-700 mtr. I would suggest exit at gate no 4 of SEVA TEERTH (which was previously known as-UDHYOG BHAWAN) metro station. Auto-rickshaw's usually take ₹50-100 from metro station to NATIONAL MUSEUMS. You'll get explore all dynasty culture, weapon, utensils usage, sculptures and stones, antique picture and idols of god's in different different religions, currencies etc and many more. Make sure you have enough time like (6-7 hrs) to explore it peacefully. Even though it could be possible you'll unable to explore all, but most of things you have visited at the closing time. The opening time Tuesday to Friday: 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Saturday & Sunday: 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM, Mondays & National Holidays: Closed. Last Entry: Allowed up to 30 minutes before closing time. Entry Fees: ₹20 for Indian citizens and ₹650 for foreign nationals (which includes an audio guide). Entry is free for children under 18 and school students up to class 12th with a valid ID. Best of luck 🤞 Enjoy your Journey. 🥂

I visited the National Museum, New Delhi, on 14 June 2026 and left thoroughly impressed. The museum offers a comprehensive, well-organized journey through India's history, with exhibits spanning the Indus Valley Civilization to the Mughal era and beyond. The Harappan Gallery stood out: its well-preserved pottery, seals, and everyday objects vividly illustrate early urban life. The Buddhist art section, centered around Buddha relics, creates a calm, contemplative atmosphere, while the collection of miniature paintings is both extensive and finely curated. Most galleries include clear, informative labels, so the visit is educational even without a guide. Overall, the National Museum is a must-visit for anyone interested in India’s cultural heritage.

You need almost a full day to truly experience the National Museum, Delhi. It’s actually perfect for a museum date. The place houses incredible artefacts from the Harappan Civilization...including the famous Dancing Girl. Seeing it in real life after learning about it through textbooks felt genuinely emotional. Walking through the museum makes you feel incredibly blessed ... to stand so close to objects that were once touched and used by people of historical importance, hundreds and even thousands of years ago. History really is beautiful. There’s also a small café inside, interactive activities like painting, games, bead-making (with all materials provided), and even a short movie screening. Tickets are easily available right at the entrance. A must-visit if you love history, culture, or just slowing down and feeling connected to the past.

The National Museum is a repository of Indian history and culture. One of the largests museums in India, it has a vast collection of objects spanning centuries across three floors. If you visit Delhi, this is a must see place. It houses some of the most priceless objects of the country. From the dancing girl of the harappan age to gupta era gold coins and more. They also house the Buddha's relics recovered from the Piprahwa Stupa. There is a cafeteria as well which is quite affordable and a museum store to buy books and souvenirs.

I recently visited the National Museum in New Delhi, and it turned out to be one of the most enriching cultural experiences I’ve had in the city. The museum offers a deep dive into India’s history, displaying artifacts that range from the ancient Indus Valley Civilization to the Mughal era and beyond. The Harappan Gallery is especially fascinating, with well-preserved pottery, seals, and everyday objects that bring early urban life to light. The Buddha relics and the beautifully curated Buddhist art section create a peaceful atmosphere, and the collection of miniature paintings is truly impressive. Each gallery is well-organized, and most exhibits include clear descriptions, which makes the visit informative even without a guide. One thing I appreciated was the overall cleanliness and calmness inside the museum. It gives you enough space and time to observe everything at your own pace. The audio guide is helpful for those who want a more detailed understanding of specific periods or exhibits. However, a few sections could use better lighting or updated display cases. Despite that, the museum remains a must-visit spot for anyone interested in India’s heritage. It’s a place where history genuinely comes alive.

The National Museum is an absolute must-visit! Whether you’re a local or a tourist, this needs to be on your bucket list. It truly takes you back in time. A few tips for your visit: 1)Plan Your Time: The museum is huge! During my visit, the ground and first floors were functional, and they alone require several hours to explore properly. 2)The Exhibits: The section dedicated to Buddha is a highlight. You’ll see everything from early civilizations to modern achievements, all with detailed descriptions. 3)For Families: There are great experiential setups and traditional games on the ground floor that kids will love—everything from crafts to interactive play. 4)Food & Drink: You can carry your own water, but there’s a canteen inside that serves surprisingly refreshing Virgin Mojito! 5)Souvenir Shop: Don't miss the shop inside! The pricing is very reasonable. I found some beautiful postcards and unique white stamps that make for perfect gifts or keepsakes. A 10/10 experience for anyone who wants to see history come alive.

We visited the National Museum in New Delhi, to learn more about the local history and culture, and see artifacts from a range of ancient and more recent civilizations and religions. Overall, the collection of relics and art is impressive, well organised in separate galleries over 4 levels, and high quality. English audio guides are available, but we didn't need to use them. We spent more than 3 hours during an afternoon, and didn't manage to see everything, but were not disappointed. Although we took many photographs while there, we couldn't take more because some of the glass encasings were too selective and the lighting positions disrupted the images with bright spots.

Sehr großes und in Teilen sehr modernes Museum. Über alternativen Eingang barrierefrei/rollstuhlgerecht inkl. Toilette. Das Museum ist über drei Stockwerke verteilt und lässt sich an einem Tag fast nicht vollständig besuchen. Audioguide in verschiedenen Sprachen erhältlich, funktioniert einwandfrei.

I recently visited the National Museum during a school trip and it was quite an interesting experience. At first it felt like just another school outing but once we started exploring the galleries it became really fascinating. The museum has a huge collection of ancient artifacts, sculptures, coins and paintings that reflect India’s rich history and culture. Walking through the different sections made me realize how advanced ancient civilizations were. Some of the statues and artworks were so detailed that it was hard to believe they were made hundreds or even thousands of years ago. Overall the trip was both fun and educational. Visiting the museum with friends made the experience more enjoyable and it helped us learn about history in a more engaging way than just reading from textbooks. It turned out to be a memorable school trip. 😊

Amazing experience. I've been there for whole 3 hours . Very useful information provided. The only thing which I don't like that the sculpture have dirt and dust all over many have spider net on them like they were not taking care of dusting. All over good place to visit and spend time to gain some amazing information.

It was an amazing experience, especially for someone who loves history and artifacts. The place has a great collection that really helps you understand the past in a deeper way. One more plus point is that there is a library inside as well. However, the library is only accessible to students and professors. If someone wants to study there or check any book, they need to bring a permission letter signed by the Dean. Overall, it’s a great place for history lovers and researchers.
