We visited this unique castle-museum with our local host, who thought it would be an interesting part of Lebanese heritage - and it truly was. Moussa Castle is unlike any other place: a remarkable creation, a story built in stone, and an architectural curiosity that has become its own identity. Inside, you can admire detailed scenes of traditional Lebanese life, recreated with hand-carved figures that capture the atmosphere of the 19th and 20th centuries. Every room tells a story of how people lived, worked, and celebrated in Lebanon’s past. We even had the honor of meeting the two sons of Mr. Moussa Al Maamari, who continue to live in the castle and preserve their father’s extraordinary work - one of the world’s most fascinating architectural wonders. A truly unforgettable visit!

Very nice castle, full of interesting statues relating the daily life of the past century, and an impressive weapons collection as well. Amazing how a single man could build this with his bare hands !

Built almost entirely by one man, the castle is the result of over 60 years of dedication, vision, and perseverance. As a young boy mocked for his dream of building a castle, Moussa set out to prove the doubters wrong. Stone by stone, he constructed his masterpiece using traditional methods and incredible attention to detail. Inside, the museum showcases a wide range of Lebanese heritage, with life-sized wax figures dressed in traditional attire, reenacting scenes of daily village life from the past. From craftsmen at work to family gatherings and rural traditions, every display offers a vivid glimpse into Lebanon's cultural history. A must see if you’re in the area!!

🟫 Musa Castle – Simple Summary: Musa Castle is a special place between Deir El Qamar and Beiteddine in Lebanon. It was built by one man, Moussa Al Maamari, over 60 years with his own hands. He started building it after being laughed at as a child for dreaming big. What you’ll see: • Wax figures showing traditional Lebanese village life. • A large collection of old weapons (over 20,000 pieces). • Handmade stone walls and rooms with personal touches. • A room telling the story of Moussa’s life and dream. Why visit: It’s not just a castle — it’s a story of hard work, patience, and turning a dream into reality. Great for anyone who loves culture, history, or inspiring life stories.

It is the standing testament to passion and patience. Moussa never stopped believing in himself and never let himself be distracted. He built his own castle. His family still protects his unique monument and memories here. You can experience both art and history at every step. I highly recommend a visit to this place.

If you are into historical places, you should definitely visit this one. Moussa dreamed about this castle ever since he was a little boy. It aims at showing us the history of our country and how are grandparents used to live. Its 100,000 LBP per person where you will have a full tour in the castle and enjoy every detail about it.

I loved every bit of my visit here!! The wax statues are very nicely made and are accompanied with in motion details (water is actually boiling in the pot, sewing machine peddle in motion (check the videos). The story behind this castle is that Moussa (its owner) made every single one of the rocks in the castle by himself, making each rock different from the other. Even though this is a historical place, people from all ages would love it, even children!! The entrance fee is for 15.000 LL (for students and non students).
