Fantastic and historic, but with some bad mistakes. The hotel is just lovely, with classic bars, cigar shop, pool area, spa, beautiful terrace and more. The problem is that it is a state-run venue. It has the same problem as all other state esteablishments in Cuba. Our room was spacious, at close to European prices. Interior was dated, but good. The cleanliness is however really sub par. I'm enclosing a picture showing the amount of dust present. Half our group had to get new sheets since the old ones had brown stains from previous guests. Forgetting to vacuum the room & change the sheets is such a basic omission that just should not happen. Staff fixed this as soon as we told and made excuses, but this really isn't good. Everything is dated - even the show. Staff is present, but will sometimes do their best at ignoring you. Overall we liked it here, but a private hotel might offer a better standard.

Un lugar muy bonito pero muy descuidado, te cobran en dólares exclusivamente y sus platillos no están disponibles más que sándwich pizza y pollo... se publica como un hotel de 5 estrellas pero para nada lo es... el personal encargado de cobrar siempre te añade el 10 por ciento obligatorio de lo que consumiste, no cuentan con tenedores desechables y las aguas de los cuartos las rellenan... hablando con ellos me dicen que el extranjero debe pagar exclusivamente en dólar por que esto está diseñado para el a pesar de que el mismo platillo en moneda cuba cuesta 1.3 Dlrs cuánto el extranjero el mismo platillo lo Paga en 15 Dlrs y estamos hablando de una pieza de pollo con poco arroz, y el hotel se siente sutil y vigilado pero de la mala forma si te quejas subrayan tu nombre pidiendo antes de poner la queja el numero de cuarto y número de pasaporte. Y esto es en el país entero no solo en el hotel.

Un tuffo nella storia e nel fascino del secolo scorso L’Hotel Nacional de Cuba è l’icona assoluta dell’accoglienza cubana. Situato su una scogliera nel quartiere Vedado, con una vista spettacolare sul Malecón, questo hotel è molto più di un posto dove dormire: è un viaggio nel tempo agli anni '30, '40 e '50. L'Atmosfera: Appena si varca la soglia, si viene avvolti da un'eleganza d’altri tempi. È stato il rifugio di star di Hollywood (come Frank Sinatra e Ava Gardner) e di figure storiche, ma anche il palcoscenico di famigerati summit della mafia. Camminare nei suoi corridoi o nel suo giardino è come sfogliare un libro di storia. I punti di forza: I Giardini e il Bar: Anche se non soggiornate qui, fermatevi nei giardini per un cocktail al tramonto. Sorseggiare un Mojito o un Cuba Libre guardando l'oceano è una delle esperienze più rilassanti e iconiche dell'Avana. La Storia: Non perdete la visita ai bunker nel giardino, che ricordano la crisi dei missili di Cuba del 1962, e il "Hall of Fame", dove sono esposte le foto di tutti gli ospiti illustri che hanno soggiornato nell'hotel. Architettura: L'edificio è un mix eclettico di stili (art déco, neocoloniale) ed è conservato con un orgoglio che si percepisce in ogni dettaglio, dai soffitti a cassettoni agli ascensori d'epoca. I miei consigli: Cocktail al tramonto: I giardini esterni offrono una brezza marina impagabile. È il posto migliore in città per concludere la giornata. Il Cabaret Parisién: Di sera l'hotel offre spettacoli di musica e danza di alto livello, un'ottima alternativa al più costoso Tropicana. Tour Storico: Chiedete se sono disponibili i tour guidati della struttura per scoprire i segreti delle stanze famose. In sintesi: Forse alcune aree mostrano i segni del tempo, ma questo fa parte del suo fascino autentico. Non si viene al Nacional per il lusso moderno e minimalista, ma per l'anima, la storia e la vista più bella di tutta l'Avana. Un'esperienza imperdibile!

Con todo mi respeto, siento la necesidad de expresar mi crítica hacia este emblemático hotel, lo cual me entristece profundamente. En el pasado, este hotel tenía un encanto indiscutible; hoy, lamentablemente, ese atractivo solo se percibe de noche. El servicio de desayuno deja mucho que desear: el buffet se mantuvo prácticamente invariable durante nueve días consecutivos, con calidad muy por debajo de lo esperado. Peor aún, algunos detalles resultaron sorprendentes y decepcionantes: la botella de aceite contenía agua y los zumos estaban rebajados. En cuanto a las habitaciones, mi primera experiencia fue insatisfactoria: no había agua caliente y el baño presentaba moho. Tras cambiar de habitación, aunque era más amplia, la limpieza y el mantenimiento seguían dejando mucho que desear: paredes sucias, papeleras sin recoger durante dos días y camas mal arregladas. Es realmente una pena que un hotel de tanta fama en Cuba me haya decepcionado tanto. Por supuesto, no consideraré alojarme allí en mis próximos viajes, ya sea por trabajo o por vacaciones. Espero sinceramente que la dirección tome nota y adopte medidas: el hotel ha perdido calidad tanto en mantenimiento como en la atención del personal. Dicho esto, quiero reconocer que sí hubo personas muy atentas y amables, y es justo destacar que no deben lo“pagar justos por pecadores”

Wir haben uns spontan entschieden unsere letzte Nacht in Havanna in diesem Hotel zu verbringen und wollten es richtig krachen lassen. Wir haben für uns drei eine Senior Suite online gebucht und bezahlt. Check in war erst ab 16h möglich und wir bekamen erstmal ein Dreibettzimmer. Nach einiger Konfusion und Wartezeit kamen wir dann in unsere Suite. Die beiden Schlafzimmer mit angeschlossenen Badezimmern waren ansprechend, sehr geräumig und sauber, die Betten super bequem. Das Wohnzimmer in der Mitte war ein lieblos gestalteter Raum mit einem Fernseher, zwei Sesseln und einem Doppelsitzer. Die Toilettenspülung funktionierte nur mühsam. Morgens gab es kein warmes Wasser zum Duschen / Baden. Das Frühstücksbuffet war nur mittelmäßig, der Kaffee unterirdisch. Insgesamt ein schönes, geschichtsträchtiges Hotel, das nicht an allen Stellen gut gealtert ist. Bislang war ich auf Kuba nur in Casa particulares und nicht im Hotel, daher habe ich keinen Vergleich. Für den Preis den die Suite gekostet hat, hätte ich mir aber mehr erwartet. Ein normales Zimmer wäre wahrscheinlich ok gewesen.

READ BEFORE YOU BOOK! there was a PLAGUE of COCKROACHES and BEDBUGS From the very first night, this was a nightmare. In our initial ocean-view room, cockroaches crawled onto the bed and onto our bodies while we were sleeping. We immediately went to reception, clearly distressed, and the only “solution” offered was to change rooms, with no explanation or support, taking advantage of the fact that it was New Year’s Eve and we had nowhere else to go. The second room, on a different floor, was even worse: there were bedbugs and cockroaches, including in the bathroom. This was clearly not an isolated issue. After insisting, we were moved again, this time to a junior suite, but by morning we found even more cockroaches. It is obvious there is a widespread infestation throughout the entire hotel. Beyond the severe lack of hygiene, the staff response was slow, indifferent, and extremely bureaucratic. Sleeping here is a real health risk. I do not recommend this place under any circumstances.

The hotel from outside looks nice and historical. You can enjoy a mojito, coffe at the bars, but thats it. When you go upstairs at the rooms the floor smells disgusting, because is the same since 1930.The breakfast?? What can I say…! It feels like you are eating trash. The rooms are very old with no internet and the toilets are dirty and smelly. Also is the only place that they do not accept pesos, but only EUR or Dollars, but when you pay they give you pesos and everything is either 10 euros or 10 Dollars. This hotel is owned by their government and obviously they never ever renovated anything. Also the people working there they will help you only if you give them tips! If you want to enjoy Cuba please do not stay in this hotel. There are more options like Iberostar next to this one.

Camere vecchie, sporche e maleodoranti. Nella prima, abbiamo trovato una invasione di scarafaggi. Alla seconda stanza (a seguito di cambio di stanza), ci stava muffa e il wc otturato, con la presa per il phono che emetteva scintille. Unica nota positiva é il personale cordiale e la colazione. Per il resto, non ne vale assolutamente la pena soggiornare. Al più una visita, perchè la struttura in sé è molto bella.

Otelde konaklamadik. Barda bir seyler ictik. Otel mimarisi ve yeri son derece güzel. Fakat otelin barinda yerli ve yabanci turistlere iki farkli fiyat uygulaniyor. Yabanci turistseniz pezo ile ödeme yapamiyorsunuz. Sadece dolar ya da kredi karti. Pezo fiyatlarin oldugu menü diger menü fiyatlarinin yarisi kadar, yani daha ucuz. Kazıklanmak hiç hoş degil. Küba' da bu uygulamaya sadece bu otelde rastladik. Üzdü.

The hotel has a timeless charm, beautiful views, and a very relaxing atmosphere. The staff were welcoming, the rooms were comfortable, and the history of the place made the experience feel truly special. A memorable and enjoyable stay.

Yo fuí en Abril del año pasado 2025 con mi esposo para celebrar buestro anniversario en el restaurante y tuvimos una hermosa experiencia, todos los meseros fueron extremadamente amables y hasta nos dejaron entrar al show de baile a ultima hora, recomiendo este hermoso restaurante, desearia recordar el nombre de los meseros,pero la verdad todos fueron demasiado amables, mil gracias por esta bella experiencia y no nos experamos para volver a visitarlos y disculpen que no alcance a escribir antes, pero muy feliz de la comida y la atención bendiciones 😘🤗

Escribo esta reseña en calidad de visitante estudiante de la Universidad de La Habana y no de huésped. El pasado lunes, mis compañeros y yo visitamos el hotel, junto a una profesora extranjera, que regresaría a su país próximamente. Elegimos la terraza del hotel para pasar tiempo con la profesora, merendar y conversar. Éramos 20 personas en total y todos llegamos juntos. Ese día estaba lloviendo. El guardia que estaba de turno ese día no nos dejó pasar. Primero dijo que ese día había visitas y que nadie podía pasar, pero tuvo que cambiar su excusa cuando por al lado de nosotros pasaron algunas personas para la terraza. Después nos dijo que para estar allí, había que consumir, a lo que respondimos que claramente teníamos esa intención. Ya cuando no le quedaron más excusas nos dijo que ese lugar era muy caro para nosotros y que los estudiantes universitarios no podrían pagar los precios. Conclusión, nos llamó pobres a la cara, sin tan siquiera conocernos. Falta de respeto. Fue además tan insensible que nos dejó mojándonos bajo la lluvia y el estuvo bajo techo durante la conversación. Los estudiantes universitarios podremos no tener salario y nuestro estipendio es insuficiente para consumir en un lugar así, pero podemos tener familia que nos de dinero. En la universidad lo mismo estudia el hijo de un médico o del dueño de un negocio particular o de un campesino. Es muy triste e indingnante que a los cubanos no dejen entrar a los hoteles en nuestro propio país. Ni siquiera íbamos a hospedarnos. Solo íbamos a pasar el tiempo con nuestra profesora. Vergüenza debería darle.

Es un hotel cargado de historias, bien conservado, tranquilo y elegante. A pesar de ello, en la habitación que reservamos, el equipo de climatizado, por ser antiguo esta un poco defectuoso. La atención del personal no es la mejor. La comunicación en todos los sentidos no es la mejor, ya que omiten detalles importantes al llegar al hotel. Deben mejorar en todos los aspectos, ya que es un hotel prestigioso.

We stayed 1 week at Hotel Nacional. The service in the bars and restaurants are extremely inferior compared to the splendid restaurants in the neighbourhood. For the same reason very few use the restaurants. The worst however was that we were robbed in the lobby upon leaving. By an hotel employee. We had consumed 2 beers from the room fridge, corresponding to 1200 pesos or 2.40 USD. However the employee insisted we had to pay 32 USD for the 2 beers “because we were not Cubans”. Pure robbery. Never return to that criminal joint.

Booked the executive floor but despite telling the bell boy this on arrival, twice, he said we still needed to check in at the main reception, when doing this we were told we should be going upstairs to check in!! Executive means we check in at the executive reception, not the main one so clearly we had no benefit from paying extra here. Rooms smelt damp & I had to move room due to a faulty tap not turning off. I asked them to fix this so I could move back to that room as the alternative room was actually damp, with bedding damp to the touch. As move was at 1am due to going to the show, I stayed in it as too tired to move again. Housekeeper was great though. Executive pool - we were told at the pool that we needed a wrist band to use it (this is what you pay extra for?) We were told to go to the main reception which we refused to do as he should clarify our status if needed & no mention of wrist bands stated previously to us. Thought this was a hotel not Butlins! No one else was using the pool & wrist bands? Seriously?? We complained about this and was offered an apology & asked to go down for 'compensation'. We didn't do this as the guy was rude & despite main hospitality apologising, this had already happened. I didn't want any compensation, I just wanted to be treated like a human being. The main restaurant was nice but food not great, steak very fatty & only cheaper cuts available. Card machine not working & waiter was rude as we didn't have cash on us, which spoilt the experience. His colleague helped by saying we could use the machine in reception, which we did. Most staff were lovely and really helpful but the two mentioned above had bad attitudes that should definitely not be in hospitality. Hotel is tired, rooms smell damp, both in carpeted rooms and tiled rooms. Not sure what we got by paying extra to be on the executive floor though so do not feel this was value for money & overall, it was a real disappointment. Hotel needs investment as it has clearly seen better days.

Bon … je savais ou j’allais donc ok sur certaines choses.. chambres moyennes … prises arrachées du mur, hygiène approximative… Mais surtout le service est vraiment déplorable. Je fais simple: ils en ont rien à carrer… next.

Imponente hotel. Lo visitamos pero no nos alojamos. Pudimos ingresar al lobby, patio trasero y al salón de la fama. Todo impecable, de gran nivel y mucha historia. Se ubica frente al malecón.
