Nature's Art Village

I’ve been here many times over the years, but this last time was definitely the most fun shopping with my friends. We spent a good solid hour looking at and picking out rocks and crystals to buy. This is honestly one of the best spots in New England to find them, so if you love geology, this is the place for you.

Wife and I took our kids (2.5yr and 4yr) as a last summer hoorah before our first kid starts school. He loves dinosaurs and this ended up being a perfect send off for him. This place has a resort feel to it. The land was so beautiful, I felt inspired to buy a random plot of land to build my own Jurassic Park. Our kids loved everything, particularly the giant play place, outdoor slides, and water area. For a summer weekend, it was not busy at all plus there were no lines. Except for the food shack, but we packed our own lunches. We had to literally drag our kids out at the end of the day. The kids slept so soundly that night!

This massive stunning natural and purchasable museum of fine prehistoric geology, fossils, toys, and beads is a family adventure. I make it a point to buy from them every time I visit, just to make sure they stay in healthy business forever. They also have a huge jewelry section with very tasteful, and not so expensive wearables. I've been visiting since the 1990s.

Great place for your children to have fun. We did the dig for gemstones. Such a fun experience. The ice cream was great, too.

Best Adventure Ever! I was surprised that it was open. We went on the first day. The grand kids had a blast digging for rocks! They get to fill a bucket with whatever they can find to take home. Even the teenagers had fun! It was nice and cool down in the mine. It's a great place to take the kids on a weekend to escape the summer heat. There is also plenty of shopping upstairs! I highly recommend stopping in.

The kids entertainments were closed. But the antique store is meticulous very large and has lots of things to look at even my husband enjoyed it in the store that has stones in it and jewelry is also very nice great little place to spend a few hours

Loved finding SO large a stock from vendors. Seems most all items offered very top.in condition. Found surprises in things I gifted in recipients incredibly impressed! Super informative owner & highly respectful and considerate toward shoppers best interest!

We took the kids here for the Dino holiday lights but arrived early to do the gem mining and gold panning. SO FUN! Patrick was an awesome help and made the kids very excited about the whole experience. And the Dino lights were amazing, I couldn’t believe it was the first year they have done this! Highly recommend. Beautiful outdoor walk. Family memories made!

My late Mom and I would pass this place everytime she had a MD appt in Lyme and say, "let's go someday". We never got there together. I went today and it was GREAT. Not only an Antique Shop, but a Steam Engine. Exhibit, a Gift Shop filled with goodies, an Ice Cream shop and the Dinosaur Place!!!

I called Nature's Art on Monday to get information regarding throwing my son's birthday there. The girl who answered took my name and phone number to pass along to the event coordinator to call me back. This was in the morning. I never received a call back. I emailed their event email address listed on their website to contact regarding parties that evening. I still have not heard back. I am disappointed in the lack of communication and professionalism from this business as my family and I visit there every year, multiple times. To say the least, the bowling alley in the area got back to me within minutes regarding a party opposed to Nature's Art. They unfortunately lost our business.

This is a hidden jewel in southeastern Connecticut. The shop houses 30 vendors with thousands of unique items from all walks of life. Artwork, antique tools, toys clothing, scuptures, pottery, bicycles, everything you can imagine in well organized and labeled displays. If you've been looking for something special or different make a trip here.

There is an entra fee of $5 per kid, $8 per adult. The Bear trail so cute, this is also an educational place , you will learn the different names of trees and plants. There is also Alphabet house that soo cute. They have exciting events every month so you have to check out the website first to take advantage of it. Also, they have nature market at the back of the place and you can buy locally made products!. This is good addition to your itinerary. This is 8 mins away from Mystic Aquarium and 8 mins away to Mystic port museum.

We always love the dinosaurs and the mini golf too. We are sad that the antique place is closing but looking forward to what they will have next.

My favorite part of natures art is Brandon. He answers any and all of my child like excited questions with equal enthusiasm, can't beat that. His insight makes me insightful, and in a room full of fossils and organic specimens the outcome is limitless. Never knowing what I'll walk out with is that literal "kid-in-a-candy-store" feeling. However, their prices do reflect the excitement of the place. Thousand year old items don't come cost effectively, but sometimes they do! My latest score was a pair of meteorite ear rings for $25 and a calcite clam chunk for $12! If you can stay out of the tourist trap items, this place is a honey hole. I could wander around all day, albeit half of it conversing with Brandon about what I have found lol. Always a great time, and I will definitely be back. Summer is good for mini golf and splash pad for the kids. They have ice cream that I never sprang for because I couldn't justify the cost(i.e:tourist trap). Update April 2025: went looking for a specific frame I'd gotten there in the past, they were out so they're putting them on the next order for me! Can't beat that service!

We have visited the rock and gem shop many times. Brandon is very knowledgeable and helpful. I would highly recommend this shop to any dinosaur, rock or gem collectors!

Place has a bamboo forest that is insanely cool.

This is a go only once kind of place. I didn't like the vibe from faculty. Very strict on procedures. And unfortunately for us, the special Halloween part I guess they open up at night prevented us from circling around the joint so we had to double back the same trail a long way. I'm sure dinosaur models require upkeep(and they looked good), but this place is basically as expensive as some zoos where actual animals need food and vet care, etc. The best part is the life size brachyosaurus🦕 next to the three story high jungle gym and other elevated playscapes.

My grandchildren love the dinosaur park. They are age 4 & 6. We were so happy that they participated with the free summer at the museum this year. We stayed until closing and the kids can't wait to go back. They loved everything: dinosaurs, playground, train, splashpad.

Had a birthday party there today at the indoor gem mining and gold panning part of the village. The experience couldn’t have been better, honestly. While all the staff was so kind and helpful, Jordan went above and beyond to make the experience special for the kids, which we appreciated tremendously. Whatever you’re paying him, it isn’t enough. Give him a raise! Each child walked away feeling special in some way. Facilities were optimal for a party as well. There’s a spot with tables and a refrigerator for a reasonable cost, cordoned off from the rest of the downstairs area. This made it easy to keep everyone contained and safe. I wouldn’t hesitate to have another party here.
