Please don’t visit this hospital. My father went there for vomiting and a mild fever, and they insisted on admitting him. At the time of admission on 15th October 2024 (Friday night), they demanded an initial payment of ₹10,000. Shortly after, they claimed his keto levels were 3+ and recommended transferring him to the ICU, asking for an additional ₹25,000, along with ₹12,000 for medications.
Despite my father being fully conscious and appearing normal, they pressured us to move him to the ICU. We were baffled as to why ICU care was necessary for mild fever and vomiting. He was admitted on Friday, and by Sunday (17th October 2024), he had recovered. However, when we requested his discharge, the doctors refused and only released him on 20th October 2024 (Wednesday night).
From Friday night to Wednesday night, we ended up spending ₹60,000 on the hospital bill, plus ₹12,000 for medications. Initially, the bill was ₹65,000, but after a long argument with the hospital management, they reluctantly reduced it to ₹60,000. Just for a vomiting complaint, we were forced to pay such a high amount. Because of my father’s age (72), the doctors brainwashed us into believing ICU admission was necessary, and we accepted it under pressure.
We came to this hospital because our area doctor, Dr. R. Kamalakannan, a general physician from Korattur, referred it to us. When we raised our concerns with the hospital management about the excessive charges, they simply told us, “Please ask the doctor who referred you here.” We tried to contact Dr. Kamalakannan, but he responded lethargically and was of no help. This was the worst experience ever, both with the hospital and the referring doctor.
