If I could give this property zero stars, I absolutely would, because that is honestly what it deserves.
Do not be fooled by the photos, reels, or online promotions. Nilaya Nest Away appears far better online than it actually is. The reality is extremely disappointing from the moment you even approach the property. The hotel is located deep inside a narrow galli with a rough, uneven, stone-filled road that is highly inconvenient and frustrating to navigate. At night, the situation becomes even worse as there are no proper lights installed by the hotel on the approach road, making it dark, uncomfortable, and unnecessarily difficult to access.
The most frustrating part is that the property itself seems like it may have originally been developed with genuine intentions of providing a good guest experience. There are visible facilities, multiple amenities, and even several games and activity options for children, suggesting that the owner or developer may have planned for a satisfying family-friendly resort. However, all of that potential has been completely destroyed by shockingly poor management, terrible maintenance, lack of professionalism, and almost nonexistent customer care.
We had clearly informed the hotel before booking that we were traveling with a senior citizen and specifically required a ground-floor room. Only after reaching the property were we told that there are absolutely no ground-floor rooms at all. Had this been disclosed honestly beforehand, we would never have booked this hotel. For a two-floor property with no lift, this level of poor communication is unacceptable.
Check-in was chaotic and badly managed. Despite arriving at the designated time, our rooms were not ready, and there appeared to be no proper system in place. Reception was frequently unattended, intercom was unreliable, and staff were often unavailable when needed. It genuinely felt as though guest convenience was not a priority.
Cleanliness was one of the worst aspects of this stay. The reception area, common spaces, and staircases were dirty, wet, slippery, and poorly maintained. Food spills, dust, filthy carpets, dusty furniture, dirty balconies, and foul smells from the restaurant spreading throughout the hotel created an extremely unpleasant environment. Even repeated complaints and requests for proper cleaning, air fresheners, or better-smelling cleaning products were largely ignored.
The room conditions were equally poor. We experienced malfunctioning AC, broken geysers, electrical tripping, delayed TV recharge, missing towels, rusted electric kettles with visible grime, missing induction cookers in one room, dusty interiors, and uncomfortable beds that made proper sleep difficult for multiple nights.
Payment handling was another major red flag. Despite making online deposits, the hotel staff showed confusion regarding payments and insisted on transfers to random personal accounts rather than proper hotel business accounts. We made it clear that we would not transfer money to unknown individuals, and the fact that this was even suggested felt highly unprofessional and concerning.
Overall, this property is a classic case of decent infrastructure being completely ruined by terrible management. While the foundation and some facilities suggest that this place could have been a good resort, the severe lack of maintenance, poor cleanliness, misleading communication, absent customer service, and unprofessional operations make it one of the most frustrating hotel experiences possible.
This property does not simply fall short — it drastically fails to deliver what is advertised. If you value hygiene, professionalism, comfort, transparency, or even basic hospitality standards, avoid this place. The online image is misleading, and the actual experience is nowhere close to what is promised.
