Noor Mahal is a breathtaking architectural gem nestled in the heart of Bahawalpur. Built in the late 19th century, this palace is a stunning blend of Italian and Islamic design, showcasing intricate detailing, grand arches, and majestic domes. The lush green lawns surrounding the palace add to its serene charm, making it a perfect spot for history lovers, photographers, and tourists alike. The interior is equally captivating, with antique furniture, chandeliers, and historical artifacts that transport you back in time. Guided tours are available and offer fascinating insights into the royal heritage of the Nawabs of Bahawalpur. The palace is well-maintained, and the staff is courteous and informative. Evenings at Noor Mahal are magical, especially when the building is illuminated, highlighting its regal beauty against the night sky. It’s not just a monument—it’s a symbol of Bahawalpur’s rich cultural legacy. Whether you're a local or a traveler, Noor Mahal is a must-visit destination that leaves a lasting impression. Its elegance, history, and peaceful ambiance make it one of the finest heritage sites in Pakistan. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a glimpse into the grandeur of the past.

A very historic palace in the heart of Bahawalpur. Nearly 120 years old and still standing and telling us the story of glorious era of Abbasi rulers of Bahawalpur. It's well kept and well maintained by the 31 Corps HQ. Everyday alot of local people, visitors from other parts of Pakistan and abroad as well visit this palace. Inside there is a museum which holds the history in pictures and belongings of different Nawabs of Bahawalpur. The exemplary friendship of Nawab Sadiq the 5th with the Quaid E Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and his sacrifices for the Pak movement and later on the monitory help with Pakistan is impressive.

Noor Mehal is a beautiful palace built by Nawab Sadiq Muhammad Khan IV of Bahawalpur for his wife. History tells that his wife upon seeing the palace did not like it as there was a graveyard at the back of the palace due to which she thought that it was haunted. Due to this reason the palace was then used as a guest house. The palace has been taken well care of by the Pakistan Army and Bahawalpur administration, and is a must visit for the tourists who are eager to learn the history of Nawabs of Bahawalpur.

I would have ranked the Noor Mahal before 2020 a "must to visit" place. It has been degrading over the period of time under the influence of Army but it still serves as a cultural significance. Noor Mahal is truly a stunning historical palace that showcases the grandeur and elegance of Pakistan’s rich heritage. From the moment you approach the palace, the architecture captures your attention — the combination of European and Mughal influences gives it a unique and majestic look. The intricate carvings, high ceilings, and ornate interiors reflect the opulence that the Nawab family wanted to convey, making it a visual treat for anyone interested in history or architecture. The palace grounds are well-maintained, with lush gardens that provide excellent photo opportunities and a peaceful stroll around the property. However, there are a few areas where the visitor experience could improve. The entry fee is slightly higher than what some might expect, especially for local tourists, and there could be better signage and guided information about the historical significance of each section of the palace. While the staff are generally helpful, during peak visiting hours, they can become a bit stretched, which may affect how much guidance you receive. Overall, Noor Mahal is a must-visit for history enthusiasts, photographers, and travelers looking for cultural experiences. Despite minor drawbacks like pricing and limited information, the palace offers an unforgettable glimpse into Pakistan’s regal past and makes for a memorable day trip.

Noor Mahal is truly a must-visit spot full of history, elegance, and beautiful architecture spread across a large area. The entry ticket is Rs. 200 per person, which is quite reasonable for the experience. I highly recommend attending the light show that beautifully narrates the palace’s history. The light show timings are 6:15 PM on weekdays, and 6:15 PM & 7:30 PM on weekends. Make sure to book your seats a day in advance, as it can get pretty crowded and you might miss out on a good spot. Overall, Noor Mahal offers a perfect blend of culture, history, and visual delight, definitely worth a visit!

Looking for a spot that’s giving pure Royal Core? you need to pull up to this place. 🏰✨ It’s literally the blueprint for the Nawabi aesthetic—we’re talking intricate arches, marble for days, and that "old money" energy that makes you feel like actual royalty. 👑👑 The vibes? Immaculate. It’s not just a historical site; it’s a whole cinematic experience. Every corner is a high-key thirst trap for the ‘gram. 📸 The architecture is doing the most in the best way possible. Honestly, the main character energy here is off the charts. 📈

Always call to ask about electricity status, as we arrived around 5, had to wait till 5.30 to see the full glamour of the interior. Along our breath taking view of the history of nawabs, their loyalty to the creation and founder of Pakistan, M.A Jinnah - the Nawabs before the independence of Pakistan had contributed a lot and helped the newly created country -- amazing and beyond words unless visited yourself, will know how much donations had been given for the Education Deptts. Allah bless them all who died serving their country. A sad note in the end-- this grand palace should not be used for bridal shoots , a ban must be imposed.

Excellent visit! Noor Mahal is definitely a must-see during a trip to Punjab (I went 22/02/2021). What really stands out is how beautifully maintained everything is. The entire mahal and its historical collection are kept spotlessly clean and in great condition. The maintenance team deserves applause!

There are two light shows one at 6.30pm and one at 7.45pm . These are for 15 minutes really nicely done covering the history of the mahal along with the general history of the navabs. Really good fun for all ages. The admission fee is only 200 per person and afterwards you can go see the whole mahal. I don't think the shows happen all days of the week though. The mahal itself is very well mantained and under the army supervision. I'm not sure if foreigners are allowed or there are specific regulations around it but they do ask at the gate about weapons and foreigners and in that order :) The interior of the building is very well mantained along with the detailed archive of the royal family including photos and history of each nawab. There are also snacks and restaurants around though they were pretty empty and dead when we went there. The mahal is worth the drive, highly recommended

Noor Mahal is absolutely breathtaking! The architecture is stunning, and the historical vibe truly takes you back in time. It is a wonderfully preserved piece of history that offers a real glimpse into the region's royal past. It’s a must-visit if you’re in Bahawalpur—perfect for taking gorgeous photos and learning about the royal history. Highly recommended!

I dont like that everything belongs to army. Its a historical place, not a warzone. Otherwise it was fine. Rates were not too expensive for most services (including entry). However upper floor was locked for public which kinda kills the point of visiting it as there is little to see on ground floor.

Palace itself is quite beautiful. However there are like 4 or 5 more of these palaces in bahawalpur which are not open for civilians. I wish one day all human beings become equal in this country and have all access to same facilities

Noor Mahal is one of the city’s most beautiful and historically significant forts. The architecture is truly impressive, reflecting a blend of Italian and subcontinental styles. However, during my visit, the experience was not very pleasant. There was no electricity inside the fort, which meant no fans or lights, and the heat made it extremely uncomfortable to explore. Such a magnificent heritage site deserves better maintenance and visitor facilities to ensure people can truly enjoy its beauty.
