Cafe Onchillah by Kandy Swing

This place is super chilled out... oh wait, it's called on-Chill-ahh... Ohhh now I understand why 😎 Anyway, food is great, drinks are awesome. I had the pineapple-passionfruit-gotukola drink, which I definitely recommend.... And the shakshuka was delicious, and the presentation was really nice. No complaints, the guys working there were walking around with big smiles on their faces, and they were having fun. The prices are what you can expect of a place like this, and I'm happy that Kandy is starting more and more to also get some 'hip' places. Back in the day it was difficult to find nice places to chill. Oh yes, and an amazing view of the Mahaweli (which is the name of the big river, what it also literally means). 😍 So guys; check it out, take a swing, and be happy 😊

This place is a totally hiden gem. The view is amazing and the food is delicious especially smoothie bowls 😍 The staff is making a good job - they are really helpful and friendly. They Make you feel like home. The swing rope is a definitely Instagram place - don’t miss the oportunity to use it! It’s an amazing experience ☺️

Byliśmy kameralną grupą /8 osób/ żeby coś zamówić, trzeba było już kilka godzin wcześniej wybrać posiłek- szokujące. Widok wspaniały. Największe zastrzeżenie budzi jedzenie : Grilled Tuna with Mandarin sauce /niedosmażony w środku, wręcz surowy/i Kottu Rottie - mega ale to mega suche. Drink - Mohito zupełnie inna cena w karcie a inna w trakcie płacenia. Ceny - mozno zawyżone. Dopiero na górze dowiedzieliśmy się cenie huśtawki. Warto wejść dla pięknego widoku - jednak reszta - budzi zstrzeżenia.

A wonderful place in Kandy. We had a great cooking class with the masterful Chef Shashi there. Beautiful surroundings and some fun to be had on the swings :-)

Wir kamen um zu frühstücken. Die Früchte Bowls waren sehr lecker. Die Bedienung sehr aufmerksahm und freundlich. Die Preise sind etwas höher angesetzt als im Dorfkern in Kandy, jedoch wird man mit euinem tollen Ambiente und Aussicht belohnt. Die Location ist sehr enladend und die Sanitären Anlagen sind sauber und sehr schön. (Toiletenpapier vorhanden, ist nicht überall der Fall in Sri Lanka) Man kann auch mit den Schaukeln über den Hügel wippen, per bezahlung. Wir können diesen Ort allen Reisenden die nach Kandy reisen empfehlen. Es lohnt sich auf jede fall ein paar Rupien mehr zu bezahlen als wo anders. Wir kommen wirder 👍🏽

Wir waren im Onchilla Kandy Swing und hatten einen richtig tollen Besuch! Das Personal war sehr freundlich und die Aussicht mitten zwischen den Palmen ist einfach wunderschön. Das Essen war ebenfalls super lecker – wir hatten Kottu Egg und ein Curry. Die Portionen waren großzügig und geschmacklich top. Preislich etwas höher für Sri Lanka, aber absolut im Rahmen. Es lohnt sich auf jeden Fall hierher zu kommen. Und wer Lust auf die Swing hat, kann sich auf einen traumhaften Schaukelerlebnis zwischen Palmen freuen!

Nice place to stop for a drink or bite to eat. Great view over the city. It's a bit of a walk up the hill from the main road, so keep that in mind. We had hot and iced lattes with coconut milk and their beet & sweet smoothie bowl. The bowl was really tasty. Since we don't drink cow's milk they offered coconut milk which was nice. It's a bit pricey, but quality of food was good and it's hard to beat the view. Staff are also very friendly!

Amazing place, Amazing Views, the thought of the swing is terrifying but while on it, life feels peaceful and care free. Food is nice as well and the drinks are nice and cold. Nice place to eat and relax. Would recommend.

We visited this place earlier this week in the evening after lunch and had an amazing experience. The cafe is pretty cozy with great views and it had giant swings. Food and drinks were spot on and the staff was attentive. Highly recommended!

Esperienza ottima! Location bellissima immersa nella natura con una vista mozzafiato, hanno tre altalene da cui poter scattare foto e fare esperienza tipica! Colazione migliore fatta in Sri Lanka, qualità altissima e piatti realizzati in maniera precisa. Bravissimo ragazzi

We found this amazing place while searching for somewhere to eat on Google quite last minute. It is highly rated for a reason! We had a go on the swings which was super fun, you can't not have a go! ( Do this before you eat!) This place makes the BEST lime juice drink we have ever had! (We kept ordering it as it was so delicious) the food was amazing, we both orderd the Kottu which was prefectly spicy and the portion size was very generous. While we were there, the staff sang Happy Birthday to their collegue who then very kindly shared some of his Birthday cake with us which was super kind. We can't recomend this place highly enough. It is worth all the steps as the view from the top is amazing, the music was lovely, staff super nice, food and drink amazing and the swings super fun. If I could give it 10 stars I would.

A gem in the middle of nowhere! Great food and amazing atmosphere and views. We got almost everything on the menu and it was all good. Service is also very courteous and hospitable. Getting to the place might be a challenge for people with some mobility issues, as it’s quite uphill with uneven steps at times.

You must visit! Don’t overthink it — just go. A beautiful place with stunning views, delicious food, and great coffee. It’s also an amazing spot for photos! A special thank you to Afkar for the wonderful photography — professional, patient, and incredibly respectful.

Es ist so schön hier, ich kann es nur empfehlen hier her zu kommen. Die Aussicht ist mega und das Essen und trinken auch. Das Personal ist sehr nett und erfüllt jeden Wunsch. Hier kann man richtig schon abschalten ☺️

Freundlicher Service, das Essen wird frisch zubereitet und ist sehr köstlich! Das Ambiente ist umwerfend, der Ausblick unfassbar schön und man kann sich gut entspannen!
