Most amazing architecture everywhere. Love the posters everywhere and costumes too. Great shop. The ballet so beautiful but could really hear the banging under shoes on the floor boards over the music. Costumes most amazing and gave full additions to movement. Saw giselle and the smoke , costumes, ballet of the Willis was incredible and stirring. Set fabulous too. I just wish I had been closer and lower to see and appreciate more the dance and movement but however I could still appreciate the complexity of steps and work gone into the performance and at times was blown away from this and the strength of the dancers and their ability.

An absolutely magnificent experience at the Royal Opera House! The production was superb, and the artists were true masters of their craft—such incredible professionals. 🩰🎭🎶 The venue itself is stunning; the auditorium is beautifully decorated, and the whole atmosphere is enhanced by how elegantly dressed the audience is. A truly special evening. Highly recommend for a world-class performance. ✨

What can I say… one of my favourite places on earth. Such flawless, gorgeous productions, timeless masterpieces, both ballet and opera represented and on what level! I guess one of my favourite aspects of RBO though is that you really get all sorts of people there, and everyone is treated equally. So simple yet so hard to achieve for many establishments. I’ve never experienced snobbery there, regardless of how I was dressed and what kind of seat I had. Just a fabulous, glorious place to visit.

An absolutely incredible performance of The Nutcracker. It had a truly special Christmas vibe. The sets and the acting were unreal. The scene changes were so smooth, and every new set somehow looked even more impressive than the last. A live orchestra playing Tchaikovsky. That massive Christmas tree rolling onto the stage and rising up. And the atmosphere of the Royal Opera House — something truly special: magical, historic, unforgettable. It feels like real luck to catch this show in December. And the dancers’ performance was simply outstanding.

Fantastic venue and company showing ballet and opera. Young Opera tickets are amazing and help young people like me engage with the arts for reasonable prices. Views are pretty decent any where in auditorium, though the seats are more cramped the higher up you go. The shop offers lots of themed and seasonal merchandise, though it could have more opera related items. Free tap water available throughout the House and is appreciated along with the free cloak room service too. Though the queues to collect after the show are a bit manic!

A joyous, heartwarming delight, The Royal Ballet's performance of La Fille mal gardée was a masterclass in comic ballet. The dancers, led by a radiant Marianela Nuñez as Lise, brought Frederick Ashton's witty choreography to life with impeccable technique and infectious charm. Nuñez was perfectly paired with Vadim Muntagirov, their playful, ribbon-entwined pas de deux radiating with youthful love. The ensemble scenes, especially the intricately-woven maypole dance, showcased the company's precision and polish. From the barnyard humor to the exquisite footwork, this production was a truly uplifting and effervescent experience. Highly recommended for any occasion.

We went to see Tosca this week, and it was a wonderful experience! The building itself is stunning, with a beautiful interior, and the staff were welcoming and friendly. The production was absolutely excellent – truly captivating and delightful. The only downside was the heat in the auditorium, especially in the amphitheatre. At one point, someone fainted and needed assistance, and a few others were clearly feeling unwell, with staff called to provide first aid. It’s a good idea to bring water and a fan, but it would be even better if the ventilation system could be improved to match the outstanding quality of the performance.

What can be said that hasn't already. Iconic venue in London that is a must for anyone that has a chance. All the staff were friendly, warm and welcoming. Could tell they all would go above and beyond to help.

Excellent performance from start to finish. Enjoyed the high quality of the artists, the place itself with very good seating even towards the back. The event was made even more pleasurable by well timed and placed intermissions and good bar and toilet facilities.

Brilliant, world-class, beautiful, and inviting. That’s the beauty of this place. Home to opera of all kinds and languages, and ballet from all eras. Ticket prices steep for good seats, but making opera is expensive. Everyone, regardless of their affinity for opera, should visit and take this theatre in.

We watched Alice in Wonderland which was beautiful! The venue is nice, with several bars and a terrace offering drinks and food. I bought cheap tickets with restricted view which I thought will be because of the bar of the terrace. Unfortunately, it wasn't just this but half of the scene was not visible as well as the deeper part of the scene which is a shame and I wish I was better informed so I make a better choice of the seats. I went again to see Like Chocolate for Water. The show was tiny bit less impressive than Alice in Wonderland but still well done. The music was beautiful. The tickets I bought were again with restricted view but a bit better than the previous ones (see images below). I still couldn't see one part of the scene but at least I could see the deeper part which made a difference.

My review comes more from an architectural perspective, and I have to say this neoclassical building is truly a work of art. The Royal Ballet and Opera House immediately draw your attention from the street, and stepping inside is a treat in itself. The entrance is free, and you can explore what was once the flower market, now transformed into a beautiful bar, while admiring the stunning details of the iron and glass structure. The blend of history, design, and function makes it an unforgettable space. If you appreciate architecture, this is absolutely a must visit in London.

As a repeat visitor, my last two visits to the Royal Opera House for The Nutcracker were unfortunately the worst experiences I have had with the venue. Last week I was in the slip seats. During one intermission, a staff member approached me to tell me in front of everyone in the row that I shouldn't be leaning on the rails. I was in fact not leaning on the rails throughout the show, and with my binoculars, I didn't have to. It felt like I was singled out (for whatever reason, hopefully not due to microaggression, as I was the only person of colour in that row) when many people were leaning (some even standing) during both the first and second half and were not addressed publicly. It would’ve made better sense if it was addressed in general to everyone. Today I tried to redeem a prepaid ice cream voucher, I was treated dismissively and rudely by the staff member selling it. She refused to help, shaking her head and insisting my email order confirmation proof was "not sufficient" and telling me to "stand aside." While I understand the policy, it would have been helpful if I had been assisted in looking for the voucher, as it was not emailed to me and the website navigation was difficult. This rude and unhelpful behavior is completely unprofessional. (I was later able to successfully claim the item with another kind and friendly staff member.) The appalling service left me uncomfortable to stay and I had to leave during intermission . I understand that it gets busy during this period, but that is no reason for the lack of courtesy and respect.

FRIDAY FREE LUNCH CONCERTS at the Royal Opera House is one of those things that makes London a lovely city! Make sure you arrive at the main entrance by 12m sharp, as the queue the eager enthusiast attendees made is already, quickly building up. Tokens for the entry are nicely handed over by the super friendly staff. Another queue is formed at 12:30m to finally have accsses to the bigger bar, one floor up, the former steel & glass frame of the original Victorian Covent Garden Market structure, now part of the theatre. Enjoy!
