OTAKU

Otaku is the most au try authentic Japanese cafe there is in Dubai. Their attention to detail when it comes to the decor of the space and the dishes truly reflects the Japanese culture and their philosophies. The fluffy pancakes are to die for and they have premium ceremony grade matcha. The staff is very sweet and professional. Overall a very pleasant atmosphere and place to enjoy a catch up with friends or family. I highly recommend this cafe :)

I went to OTAKU because I wanted to eat pancakes. The nearby parking lot was crowded, so I left my car at the valet. Since it was morning, the cafe was quiet and I was able to relax. There was so much on the menu that I had a hard time deciding what to order. We ordered two types of pancakes and two non-pancake items. OTAKU BENEDICT had a bland taste overall, and the COCONUT CURRY was just sweet, but the chicken was delicious. Among the SOUFFLÉ PANCAKEs, the CLASSIC STRAWBERRY AND CREAM was very delicious. If you like whipped cream, try this. The CRÈME BRÛLÉE is delicious, but only the top pancake has cream on it. There wasn't enough cream to eat the bottom pancake. Both pancakes were fluffy and similar to the ones you get in Japan. I'm also interested in the winter-only menu, so I'd like to go back and try it again.

First time in Dubai and I came here for breakfast. Matcha was incredible and food is amazing. Workers are so kind and the place is so peaceful. Açaí bowl was my fav but literally everything tastes and looks amazing

The moment you step inside, you feel that calm, minimalist Japanese vibe — soft colors, clean design, and such a relaxing atmosphere. It’s the perfect place to slow down, enjoy the moment, and escape from the noise outside. The staff were very friendly and polite, welcoming with that gentle hospitality that makes you feel truly cared for. The drinks were delicious, especially the matcha, and the desserts were beautifully made with so much attention to detail. Everything felt fresh, light, and perfectly balanced. It’s cozy, elegant, and filled with those small touches that make Japanese cafés so special. Overall, a lovely spot with great service, wonderful flavors, and a peaceful ambiance that makes you want to return again and again. 🍵✨🌿

My friends and I went here for Sunday brunch, and it turned out to be the perfect spot for a slow, relaxing weekend meal. The place has both indoor and outdoor seating, with plenty of natural light and lots of space. The mains and the honey toast were delicious!

This place is mainly for eating pancakes. I would not recommend having lunch or dinner here. The staff tend to leave immediately after taking just one item of an order. I had to stop her several times so she would not walk away. If you are only here for pancakes, it may be fine. The whipped cream was good.

Really nice coffee and lunch spot in Dubai Design District. The decor and interior are beautiful, and it’s a great place to sit and people watch. The coffee is good and the breakfast is tasty as well. I had the poached eggs on avocado, which was delicious, but the portion was quite small for the price. Service was good and the overall vibe is very pleasant. If they improve the portion sizes to better match the pricing, it would be even better. Overall, a nice place worth trying.

Otaku at the Fashion District in Dubai has a beautifully designed space that immediately stood out. The open concept with exposed brick gave the restaurant a relaxed, airy feel. I have always been a fan of industrial design and architecture, so the ambiance alone made the experience feel comfortable and inviting. The rigatoni was well executed. The pasta was tender and cooked properly, and the sauce complemented it without overpowering the dish, which I appreciated. On the other hand, the California roll missed the mark for me. There was too much rice, and I could not really taste the mango or the crab meat, which made the flavors feel muted. One downside of the open, floor-to-ceiling doors being fully open was the number of flies around the table. Unfortunately, one fly even went into my glass of açaí smoothie, which meant I could not finish it. While the open-air concept adds to the vibe, this did take away from the dining experience. That said, the service crew was excellent. They were attentive, friendly, and genuinely made us feel taken care of. Hats off to the staff for their professionalism and hospitality.

I came here specifically to try the supposedly delicious Japanese pancake (soufflé). I ordered the original flavor (strawberry cream). Besides strawberry cream, they have many other flavors to choose from, even a savory soufflé. I thought this cafe's soufflé was quite tasty, but the egg flavor was a bit strong, those who can't stand the eggy taste might not be used to it. However, although it was delicious, I felt the price was a bit too expensive and not really worth it. Besides the regular matcha, they also have hojicha. However, there are only two hojicha options: cream hojicha and white chocolate hojicha, which is a limited selection. It would be better if they also had hojicha latte.

Amazing decoration very calm for the eye as well but the place is not made to sit for so long. The food was amazing rich with flavor love it I ordered Turkish egg, and tired there coconut water match it was good.

Tasty coffee and plenty of food options. Their dessert menu is extensive, I tried a Japanese cheesecake and it was delicious. The interior design is minimalistic, but very cool, matching the Design District vibe. Outdoor seating is nice for people watching.

Otaku stands out as an incredible breakfast and brunch spot. The Japanese inspired dishes and drinks pristine. The service and location are great. Yang thank you for your professionalism and time. Your coffees, matcha, and vibe are great I highly recommend

As soon as we enterened The staff seems depressed and not smiling. I had to call them to remove the plates. So unwelcoming aura and attitude. The food was amazing only thing the eggs were ice cold. Matcha was great. Give the chef 10/10 Creme bruelle pancakes were so fluffy and amazing. Highly recomended. Just fix the staff issue so we would come back.

The best pancakes in town. Will definitely go back to try out there food. The savory pancake was only one but it was outstanding. Being a chef my self the flavors were very well spread out. What i did not like was the Japanese cheesecake its the wost I have ever had. But I will not judge them on that one product.

Seriously loved Otaku Cafe in Dubai! The atmosphere is so well done. They've created a really immersive space that makes you feel like you're stepping into your favorite anime. Definitely coming back!
