U.S. Pacific Hotel

We've stayed at the U.S. Pacific Hotel March, 30th - April, 7th 2026 for 8 nights. We travelled on budget. Here we got a clean hotel with super kind employees. We looked for NOTHING MORE than a safe place to stay, in WALKING distance to many attractions (Manhatten Bridge 5 minutes, Brooklyn Bridge, 15 minutes, 9/11 appr. 20 minutes, China town CERO minutes, Little Italy 4 minutes, Subway 5 minutes). The bed was clean. The restrooms on the floor, too. We've booked the cheapest option of the hotel. You can also book rooms with restroom and window. I maybe missed to be able to buy coffee at morning or the possibility to just hang around. Our son (15) and I liked the hotel and do recommend it. Maybe it's a bit comparable with a Germany youthhostel with the restroom on the floor... It is no fancy hotel you want to share in your Instagram story. But this was not our goal. I would book it again.

I would recommend this location very highly! The price is great, the staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the area is perfect for a long weekend in the city. The room is small but very clean, in a quiet building (seriously, no noise from the neighbors or the street whatsoever). Forewarning: bathrooms are shared but each floor has a few, and you can use the bathroom on another floor if it’s urgent. The neighborhood is so safe, great eats all along Bowery, and amazing friendly vendors. This would be perfect for a couple on a budget.

You're here because of the price. Let's be clear: in New York, "affordable" is a synonym for "significant compromise." This place is the embodiment of that principle. You can expect an ok stay in a rather clean, closet-sized room if you have a reasonable tolerance level. But don't expect anything more than the most minimal viable service. The location is genuinely good, putting cafes and the city right at your doorstep. However, to survive your stay, you must come prepared. Consider this your survival guide: Firstly, bring earplugs to block out all of the noise pollution. Secondly, ask for an extra blanket the second you check-in since the central ventilation is an arctic blast, and the provided bedding is scant. Don't expect to get an extra pillow though, for such luxury is not available at an "affordable place" in New York. And thirdly, note that there is no common kitchen but you can bring your cup to the reception for some hot water, which is a small, almost luxurious comfort in this context. Final Question: Are you tolerant enough? If you need a very simple place to crash and will be out all day, it works. If you are a sensitive person or require personal space, the savings aren't worth it.

Easy check in and check out, rooms were clean, staff were super friendly and helpful! Great for a quick stay, if you pack light, and if you really just need somewhere to sleep/keep your stuff. l wouldn’t recommend for large groups as a two queen size bedroom was quite small for four people but we made it work.

Location is great, walkable distance to all downtown attractions (20mins walk). Room is clean, have share bathroom with good infrastructure for its price. 10/10, very good economic choice

Only in New York City would people actually pay these prices... Location is amazing and the staff were nice, but this place is pretty disgusting - yellow sheets, dirty bathrooms, dust. Our room felt especially dingy with no window (although we knew that when we booked it). If you need somewhere to sleep and shower, by all means book, but don't expect luxury.

This gets 5 stars for what it is. It is a no frills hotel for a great price. You are buzzed into the building and there are a lot of stairs. The room had a bed, small desk, folding chair and towels. There are individual bathrooms with showers, shared by the guests. The linens were worn but clean. WiFi worked great and the temperature was just right. Yes you can hear people in the hall but overall it was a quiet Tuesday night.

This is a very bad hotel. The room itself was fine, generally clean and very minimal. The noise was insane though, we had to sleep with ear plugs and it was still loud. There are so many rooms on the main floor that there are always people coming and going. If someone says anything in the hallway then everyone can hear it! The bathrooms are not in the room and are shared, they are less clean. We will not be staying here again, no matter the price. I've stayed in much nicer, cleaner and quieter Hostels.

Rooms are small but I am fine with it. I'm used to it being from D.C. Comfortable beds and clean all around, room and bathrooms. No elevator but better than 1k for a night at other hotels. I love Chinatown. Good food, fun, and courthouses all in walking distance. I would return if I need to come back.

What do you think you're going to get in Manhattan for under $200/night? This place is AWESOME!!! Just what you need to NYC. A place to shower, sleep and keep your clothes. China town and Little Italy is literally right outside your door in lower Manhattan. Yes, you'll have to carry your bags up the steps. Deal with it. I love this place and I'm glad it exists in 2025

Wir haben uns für das Hotel aufgrund des Preises bei der wirklich extrem guten Lage entschieden. Das kleine Zimmer ohne Fenster hat uns nicht gestört, jedoch die Flecken auf der Bettwäsche und das wirklich dreckige Badezimmer war eher unschön...wenn man mit Schlafanzug schläft und mit Badelatschen duscht ist das aber zu ertragen. Bettwanzen konnten wir bei uns im Zimmer keine feststellen. Alles in allem würde ich das Hotel nur Leuten empfehlen die dort ausschließlich die Nacht verbringen und wirklich extrem auf das Geld schauen müssen, für ein paar Euro mehr pro Nacht und ein bisschen außerhalb findet man sicher komfortablere Unterkünfte.

This place is fantastic. Exceedingly clean with friendly accommodating staff in the best part of the city. Not a single interaction with staff wasn’t efficient and friendly. I loved my stay here and would stay here again the next time I’m back.

You get what you pay for with this hotel. The rooms are basic—ours didn’t have a TV or fridge. We didn’t expect it, but I’m mentioning it for anyone curious. I was hesitant to book this place because of the mixed reviews, but it turned out better than expected. We got a room with a private bathroom, and both the room and bathroom were clean. They provided essentials like a hairdryer, towels, shampoo, and conditioner. The room had windows, but there wasn’t much of a view. A downside is that you can hear noise from other rooms if your neighbors are loud. This place is perfect if you have a busy day planned and just need a place to sleep. The entrance has a large staircase, so if you have heavy luggage, you’ll need to carry it up. We arrived early, before check-in time, and the staff was kind enough to let us leave our luggage in a corner while we explored the area. The location is excellent—close to Chinatown, Little Italy, and the Brooklyn Bridge. For the price, it’s a good budget option with no major complaints.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room and hallways were clean, and it was a great location near the bus stop. The noise level was not bad either.

Stay in a great part of Chinatown for an amazing price. Rooms are basic and not sound proof so bring ear plugs and appropriate expectations. Worth paying for separate bath although I found Booking.com tricky and I didn't get what I thought I requested. That said, the staff were extremely helpful in changing my reservation and I will definitely return. Near bus stop to come into town and can walk to everything.

for the price, this is unbeatable in NYC. the bathrooms are community but kept clean. the bed is hard, and the room is similar to a prison cell (no windows, just a bed and desk) but this was expected for the price. the staff was friendly and we felt safe.

We stayed here overnight, having selected this hotel because it was the cheapest option in Manhattan. The hotel is conveniently located near the subway station and around plenty of Chinatown’s restaurants. We arrived late and checked out early, and the location felt safe on both occasions. The room we had was with a private bathroom. We read that not all rooms have windows, so if you want one choose a room with a bathroom. The room was very small and very basic, without microwave, fridge not working tv. The WiFi was fast enough. The room was rather clean, but the bathroom needs renovation, it is really worn down. The lady at the reception struggled to understand English, but was polite. What we did not like was that the hotel only stores your luggage until 5pm on the day you check out. We had to shorten our sightseeing of New York due to this policy and had to arrive at the airport many hours before the flight as a result. I wish the hotel extended the luggage storage to, say, 8pm. Would make a difference to budget travelers.
