The historical castle of Qomchaqa, which was built on the roof of Bijar, Iran, is one of the historical and touristic places of Kurdistan province, which welcomes many tourists from all over Iran every year. The historical castle of Qomchaqa Bijar is located forty-five kilometers from this city and on one of the high mountains of the region. The geographical location of this castle has a special greatness for two reasons, the first of which is on one side overlooking the valley which in ancient times to the valley of kings It was famous and the long and terrifying blades of this mountain with its dreadful and high precipices make it very difficult to climb it and reach the fortress. On the other hand, it overlooks another precipice from the southwest, southeast and east. Therefore, it was not necessary to build much fortifications for this fort, but on the north side, where the ridge is lower, there are wide and strong remains of carcass stone with mortar and semi-cylindrical towers. The castle gate is located on this side, the remains of this fence are reminiscent of the walls of the throne of Solomon and probably belongs to the Sassanid period. At the foot of the stone ridge, other medieval fences are built perpendicular to the riverbed, the strength of the castle and the structural signs of the building, including the foundations of the houses that are evident, also reinforces the suspicion that this castle is Sassanid. The reservoir and the corridor that have been dug in the heart of the mountain are other signs of the special importance of the historic Qomchaqa Bijar fort and its reservoir. The cut stones of "Qom Chaghay" do not have the characteristics according to which the time of construction of the castle can be accurately determined, however, it can most likely belong to the BC period, such as the Manichaean and Median periods, which until Sassanid and Islamic periods were also used. The water storage resources that go down through the stair tunnel are somewhat similar to the water reservoir in Suleiman Prison and is another sign of the castle's antiquity to the Manichaean period.

The best castle i ever seen. People say its for 9000 years ago. The most of castle is underground. But we can see some part of it. There is really great nature and really bad road, but I'm sure it worth to see.
