We stayed at Hotel Sarovar Pichola from 19–22 November 2025, and this review is not written out of irritation, exhaustion, or emotional trauma, but purely as a public service announcement for future travellers to Udaipur and as a gentle wake-up call for the management of this establishment.
Allow me to present the highlights or rather, the lowlights of our stay.
The Approach Road (or lack thereof)
The road leading to the hotel is so breathtakingly narrow that even Google Maps seems embarrassed to admit it exists. Cars cannot reach the entrance, so guests must abandon their vehicle nearly a kilometre away and hire a local autorickshaw, who, quite understandably, charge like they are airlifting you to the Moon.
Service & Staff Courtesy
The service was… well, present. But with an obvious shortage of staff and a noticeable shortage of smiles, warmth, or basic courtesy, one wonders whether hospitality is still a concept here or only a faded memory.
No Elevator, Please Bring Oxygen
There is no lift, yet the dining area is conveniently located on the fourth floor. So if you booked CPAI meals, congratulations, you also booked a daily cardio and endurance program, absolutely free.
A Welcome Aroma
From the very moment you arrive, you are greeted by a persistent fragrance of stagnant lake water, a free olfactory reminder that nature sometimes wins.
The Rooms
Even if you opt for the Deluxe Premium category, the lighting is so insufficient that you may find yourself questioning whether electricity here is optional or mood-driven.
The Pricing
The tariff of both the rooms and the food could easily rival a five-star luxury property, if only the experience felt even remotely close to one.
In conclusion: Thank you, Hotel Sarovar Pichola, for the memories.
We did not expect adventure tourism inside the hotel premises, but here we are.
