It was an incredible experience! Special thanks to our server, Vikash. He is an incredibly caring and attentive person who made our lunch truly unforgettable. The food was amazing and unique. We highly recommend ordering the wine pairing—it was Vikash’s suggestion, and we didn’t regret it for a second!

Il vero valore aggiunto è stato conoscere l'Executive Chef Francesco: una persona squisita, professionale e appassionata, che ha reso la nostra serata ancora più speciale. Amazing experience in the H2O. We had some doubts due to some comments but bad reviews shouldn’t be here. The local and the experience of having dinner in an “aquarium” is amazing. Food was really taste; they have 3 different options menu. And then the staff; all are very kind and they make sure that you are very well taken care of from the very beginning. If you are in YOU & ME, this is a must. We had a wonderful time

H2O is one of only 7 fully submerged underwater restaurants in the world and the only one curated by a Michelin-starred chef. We stayed at You & Me Maldives and had direct access to this amazing restaurant which is just like a minute boat ride away. 6m underwater via lift or spiral staircase, everyone reacted with a chorus of awe the moment the waiter opened the curtain to the restaurant. Truly an amazing experience with wonderful food and service!

C’est une expérience que je recommande mais surtout pour le lieu, le fait de manger dans l’eau, en immersion avec la faune sauvage. La vue est superbe, le service efficace. Cependant, la cuisine est un peu légère au vu du prix du menu. Cela peut sembler manquer de recherche. Tant de possibilités dans un si bel endroit ! Gros point noir : l’ambiance. Certaines personnes se pensent chez elle, voir chez leur grand mère ! Aucun respect pour les autres tables. Elles ne parlent pas, elle hurlent ! Mais ce n’est pas étonnant, certains étrangers n’ont pas de respect pour la nourriture de leur pays et n’en ont pas plus chez les autres (les anglais surtout) !

We visited the restaurant for lunch. I must recommend it to everyone. It is an unforgettable experience. The restaurant environment is unique, a very pleasant welcome by the chef with a glass of sparkling wine, the food was more than perfect, as was the pairing of food with wine. We tasted two menus - seafood and meat. Both were excellent. You get great service all the time from very pleasant and positive staff. You have to experience it.

The VIKASH staff responded kindly and recommended wine to my taste. I was not good at English, but I was very grateful for the easy-to-understand response! And the atmosphere was very good and the food was delicious!

We started with the seared scallop carpaccio, drizzled in yuzu foam that melted on the tongue, followed by the signature reef fish ceviche—freshly caught that morning, zested with local lime and chili for a burst of tangy heat. The main event? A perfectly grilled wagyu beef tenderloin, paired with truffle mashed potatoes and a red wine reduction that cut through the richness like a shark's fin through water. Vegetarians rejoice: the eggplant caviar with heirloom tomatoes and balsamic pearls was a textural masterpiece. Desserts? The chocolate sphere that dramatically cracks open to reveal passionfruit sorbet and gold leaf—chef's kiss. Every dish is plated like modern art, with flavors so bold and balanced they demand seconds (if you can pace yourself amid the underwater show). What truly sets H2O apart is the service, led by the incomparable Summit, the restaurant manager. From the moment we arrived via private speedboat, Sumit anticipated our every whim. He personally curated a wine pairing that complemented our dietary prefs (shoutout to the vegan options he swapped in seamlessly), shared fascinating facts about the visible marine life—like how those mantas filter-feed right outside—and even arranged a surprise post-dinner glow-in-the-dark plankton tour. He went the extra mile, transforming a meal into a memory we'll cherish forever. Sumit, you're a legend! If you're staying at You & Me Maldives (and you should—it's adults-only paradise), H2O is an absolute must-try. Reservations fill up fast, so book ahead. Pricey? Yes, but worth every rupee for the once-in-a-lifetime vibe. 5/5 stars—underwater dining doesn't get better than this.

An absolutely unforgettable dining experience. From start to finish, everything was exceptional. A truly star-level chef, incredibly delicious food, beautifully presented, and outstanding service from the moment we left the hotel until our return. The restaurant’s view over the marine life is simply breathtaking and adds a magical touch to the experience. Some tables offer better views than others, so it is definitely worth reserving in advance. The warmth and kindness of the staff made the evening even more special, along with the beautifully curated music that perfectly set the mood. The Christmas menu was simply succulent : every dish was a delight. This is an experience to do and redo without hesitation. Big thanks to Sumit for being so kind and welcoming!

Siamo stati all’H2O durante il nostro viaggio di nozze alle Maldive ed è stata una delle esperienze più belle della vacanza. La location è semplicemente pazzesca: difficile descriverla a parole, bisogna viverla. Il cibo è ottimo, piatti curati e di grande qualità dall’antipasto al dessert. Ma quello che ha reso la serata davvero speciale è stato Vikash, il nostro cameriere: professionale, attento a ogni dettaglio e allo stesso tempo simpatico e genuino. Ci ha fatto sentire coccolati dall’inizio alla fine, con consigli perfetti sui piatti e una gentilezza rara. Camerieri così fanno la differenza tra una bella cena e una serata memorabile. Consigliatissimo, esperienza da fare assolutamente almeno una volta.

Our visit to the H2O underwater restaurant at You & Me Maldives for our silver anniversary was nothing short of amazing, a once in a lifetime experience. The journey began with a boat ride from the island, led by Sumat, the maître d’, as we approached the restaurant, set in the middle of the ocean, we were greeted by Yuni and Vikash, waiting on the platform, ready to greet us. The entire arrival was theatrical, you felt like you were in a James Bond movie. Once inside, the magic continued. Surrounded by vibrant marine life, including lemon sharks, reef sharks, and schools of fish while enjoying a gourmet meal was surreal. The food was exceptional, each course a masterpiece of flavour and presentation and the service from Sumat, Yuni, and Vikash made us feel like honoured guests. Their attention to detail and warmth elevated the experience into something deeply personal and celebratory. Dining beneath the ocean on our silver anniversary was a dream come true. How often do you get the chance to enjoy a Michelin-starred meal while surrounded by the wonders of the ocean? For us, it was worth every penny and would highly recommend it.

We visited H20 as a special experience for our 10yr anniversary and it was an absolutely breathtaking, mesmerising, moving experience! We booked a few weeks in advance and got one of the best tables in the house (under the glass dome with 360 views of the sea life). Definitely book as early as you can, especially if it is an occasion. We visited for the 6.30pm sitting which was a great time to go, as we got to see the exquisite marine life in the daylight, at sunset and after dark. The food was excellent (we had the meat menu on recommendation from a couple we met at the main hotel). Anyone who has said anything about the food ‘not being warm enough’ simply has not eaten at fine dining restaurants that offer tasting menus. Tasting menus are not meant to be super hot, because the he heat kills the flavours in the food. We were incredibly impressed by the quality of food offered as well as the attentiveness of the staff. It is an expensive meal out, but so incredibly worth it for a special occasion! Tip: Everyone dresses nicely to go here, but heels are not essential. I would carry a small fan if possible as it can be a bit warm if you are seated at 6.30pm or lunch, as the sun is very bright overhead. But it soon cools off once the sun starts to set.

التجربة في مطعم H2O تحت البحر كانت رائعة جدًا من ناحية المنظر والأجواء، وكنت محظوظة إني شفت سلحفاة بحرية إلى جانب الأسماك والقرش، وهذا كان الجزء الأجمل من التجربة. لكن للأسف الأكل لم يكن بالمستوى المتوقع أبدًا. قائمة الطعام كانت: • ترحيب: Sea sponge مع anchovies • مقبلات: Mojito prawns مع كريمة النعناع وتابيوكا مقرمشة • الطبق الرئيسي الأول: مكرونة مع كالاماري وشوربة سمك وبودرة الكراث • الطبق الرئيسي الثاني: Black cod مع طماطم وباذنجان • الحلى: أناناس وجوز الهند وآيس كريم بإكليل الجبل المدخن النكهة كانت غير مقبولة بالنسبة لي، السمك كان فيه زفارة واضحة، والروبيان كان نيّ وما قدرت أكله. الشيء الوحيد اللي أكلته هو المكرونة، ومن الحلى فقط الآيس كريم، وكان عادي جدًا. السعر 200 دولار للشخص الواحد، وبصراحة يعتبر مبلغ كبير مقابل أكل سيء، رغم إن الخدمة ممتازة. أنصح بالتجربة للمكان فقط وليس للطعام. The underwater dining experience at H2O was truly amazing in terms of view and atmosphere. I was lucky to spot a sea turtle, in addition to fish and sharks, which made the experience unforgettable. However, unfortunately, the food was very disappointing. The tasting menu included: • Welcome: Sea sponge with anchovies • Starter: Mojito prawns with mint cream and crispy tapioca • Main Course 1: Felicetti pasta with calamari, fish soup, and leek powder • Main Course 2: Black cod with tomato and aubergine • Dessert: Pineapple, coconut, and smoked rosemary ice cream The flavors were not pleasant for me. The fish had a strong “fishy” smell, and the prawns were raw, so I couldn’t eat them. The only thing I managed to eat was the pasta, and from dessert, just the ice cream, which was very average. The cost is $200 per person, which is quite expensive for such poor-quality food, even though the service was excellent. I recommend this place only for the unique experience, not for the food.

Fantastic experience, entering the restaurant I was moved because it reminded me of the Sydney Aquarium. Eating with the fish swimming in front of me, seeing the underwater life was really very beautiful. I enjoyed the lunch, excellent food and good service. Sumit, chef Alessandro and the other staff members made my birthday unforgettable. Thank you

Être dans l’aquarium est une expérience extraordinaire mais cet endroit devrait être destiné à une visite tout simplement. Côté cuisine, le rapport qualité prix est honteux. Les produits sont bons mais peu de technique dans l’assiette. Le dessert était ok, un joli trompe-l’œil. Globalement la quantité et la qualité ne sont pas au rendez-vous. Un exemple de médiocrité, il y avait des raviolis au canard. Nous avions prévenu que ma femme ne devait pas manger d’œuf. Résultat, le plat a été remplacé par… du riz safrané. Le canard avait peut-être mangé des œufs. La photo du plat principal, pour 280$. 5 étoiles pour les poissons et le bâtiment, 1 seule pour la cuisine. Service normal par rapport au prix. Et par ailleurs si vous souhaitez avoir des informations sur la construction et la mise en place du restaurant qui est 6m sous l’eau, il faudra se renseigner par soi-même.

Super unique and highly recommended especially if you like tropical fish and sharks. There were large lemon sharks and reef sharks circling the restaurant which was awesome. Details in service and food have room for improvement, so marketing it with the Michelin name feels misleading: - No tablecloth or settings. Wobbly glass plates meant the dining room was noisy from glass on tile - Used fork and knife were dropped on my partners lap without apology - Napkins weren’t folded when stepping away - Some dishes like duck ravioli and sea bass weren’t very flavorful, good but nothing exceptional. Others like the mojito shrimp were unique. Dessert was a bit too strong w smoke smell/taste - Was told H2O wouldn’t do anything for our honeymoon, but other tables were given (birthday?) cakes which rubbed us the wrong way Service staff were overall kind as always. Vikash (if I caught his name) was amazing with photos for us!
