Don't be fooled by Google.. this market has nothing to offer the tourists. The best place to shop gor souvenirs, bags, miniature paintings, leather stuff, traditional clothes, etc.. is jagdish mandir chowk (between gangaur ghat and city palace).

I visited Bapu Bazaar in Udaipur, and it was a lively and colorful market. The place is famous for clothes, footwear, handicrafts, bags, and local items. You can find many affordable options here. Please don't come here just because of YouTube videos. This is just a normal street with shops on either side, not a bazaar. The real Bapu Bazaar is in Jaipur, not Udaipur. In Udaipur, the only market worth visiting is Hathipol. So, don't come here expecting to find special Rajasthani or Udaipur-specific items, because you won't. It just has branded shops on either side. Don't get fooled by YouTube!

Lots of shops on the lane. Few shops are on fixed price basis. Other shops you need to bargain if you are tourist don't get into scam of Rikshaw people they will always take you to shops where they get good commission. Applies to all shops in Udaipur city.

I never witnessed such a Vibrant market of any other city. As a tourist It was a bonus for me to visit this Market of Udaipur. This local market having almost every option you want to shop or either you want to try different type of steet foods. I visited this market During the Diwali time and whole market was decorated wonderfully with the lights and props. Also in the Diwali night they arragned Different kind of performances of Different bands, DJs, Traditional Folk dance.

बाजार अच्छा है। इसकी चमक दमक सबको पसंद आएगी। परंतु मुझे उदयपुर का सबसे महंगा मार्केट लगा। यहां हर चीज का एक्स्ट्रा दाम होता है। जब पूछते है कि इतना क्यों तो बोलते है कि 60 से 70 हजार रुपए देते है दुकान की किराया के। मेरे हिसाब से यहां से कम खरीदे तो ही अच्छा है।

Bapu bazaar and hathipole are the main shopping markets of udaipur and every tourist prefers to visit there for quick purchasings as a memorabilia for their travel to Udaipur .In bapu bazaar you get a wide variety of traditional and typical rajasthani handicraft and dress material like rajasthani mojri,hand bags,dresses,or artificial jewellery and you do get a very large variety of these items including antique pieces but you have to be a very smart and clever customer who should be talented enough to bargain for the items purchased by you as the rates and price range is so diverse that you have to be cautious in price comparison while you make purchases wisely as there is difference in quality as well and you may end up burning your pocket by purchasing items which may not be of the worth paid by you.But really you can spend great time here.Really busy market.
