The water is unbelievably crystal-clear, the beaches are pristine and postcard-perfect, and the sunsets are simply spectacular. The island offers the perfect balance of relaxation and adventure, with some of the best snorkeling, diving, and excursions in the Maldives. The locals are incredibly friendly and hospitable, the food is delicious and diverse, and everything feels safe, laid-back, and beautifully authentic. For the price, Maafushi delivers exceptional value — easily one of the most affordable yet most rewarding tropical destinations. Whether you're looking for peaceful beach days, thrilling ocean activities, or a charming island vibe, Maafushi exceeds expectations in every way. Truly a paradise — highly recommended and absolutely worth visiting!

I had an amazing trip to Maafushi! The island is beautiful! One of the highlights of my trip was parasailing. Flying above the ocean and seeing the island from the sky was an unforgettable experience. I also enjoyed riding a jet ski, which was exciting and so much fun. Kayaking around the turquoise waters was another great activity that allowed me to relax and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Overall, Maafushi is a perfect destination for anyone who loves adventure, water sports, and beautiful beaches. I highly recommend visiting and trying parasailing, jet skiing, and kayaking!

เป็นเกาะที่มีชาวบ้านอาศัยอยู่จริงๆ ใครไม่ชอบรีสอร์ตหรูอยากสัมผัสวิถีชาวบ้านชิลๆมาพักบนเกาะนี้ค่ะ ที่พักมีแบบโรงแรม 5 ดาว - เกสเฮาต์ราคาถูก เดิน 30 นาทีทั่วเกาะ ทะเลสวยมาก มีบีกินี่บีช ( โซนใส่ชุดว่ายน้ำเล่นน้ำโดยเฉพาะ ) มีมินิมาร์ท ไม่มีแอลกอฮอล์ขาย และใส่ชุดว่ายน้ำเดินทั่วเกาะไม่ได้ ( มุสลิม )

มาฟูชิ .. .. เกาะเล็กๆ ในประเทศมัลดีฟต์ที่มีผู้คนพักอาศัย มีโรงแรม 2-3 ดาว และเกสต์เฮ้าท์ให้บริการนักท่องเที่ยว เป็นอีกทางเลือกหนึ่งสำหรับคนที่ไม่อยากไปพักรีสอร์ทส่วนตัว (ค่อนข้างแพง) .. .. จากสนามบินเวเลนา (สนามบินนานาชาติของมัลดีฟต์) เดินทางโดยเรือเร็วสปีดโบ๊ท ราว 30 นาที ก็ถึงท่าเรือของเกาะมาฟูชิ ถ้าจองที่พักไว้ก่อนทางที่พักจะมีพนักงานมารับ หรือถ้ายังไม่ได้จองที่พักไป สามารถ Walk in ไปดูที่พักได้ ใกล้กับท่าเรือก็เห็นโรงแรมเกือบ 10 แห่ง

Agosto 2025 – Isola-cantiere da evitare assolutamente! Dopo aver letto numerose recensioni molto positive, e volendo evitare il classico resort isolato su un atollo, ho deciso di prenotare qui. Allo sbarco, però, la realtà è stata ben diversa: siamo stati accompagnati lungo strade di sabbia mischiata a materiali da cantiere, tra sacchi di cemento, tubi d’acciaio e cumuli di pietrisco. Uno spettacolo pietoso! Arrivi aspettandoti un caratteristico villaggio di pescatori e invece ti ritrovi circondato da grattacieli in costruzione da 10 e più piani. Considerando che l’isola misura appena 1,2 km di lunghezza per 200 metri di larghezza, presto sarà completamente ricoperta di cemento. Il territorio è stato praticamente sacrificato alle costruzioni. Il vero problema, però, sono le spiagge. Quelle belle e ampie sono riservate esclusivamente alla popolazione locale, di religione musulmana: lì i turisti non possono accedere in costume, ma solo in pantaloncini e maglietta. L’unico tratto in cui possiamo fare il bagno in costume è la cosiddetta “bikini beach”, una lingua di sabbia stretta e lunga, assolutamente inadeguata. Se davvero volete fare soldi con il turismo, cari maldiviani, lasciatevi una spiaggia tutta per voi e aprite il resto ai turisti. Altrimenti tenetevi pure le vostre regole, le spiagge chiuse e… fate a meno dei nostri soldi. Sapevo già della presenza di alcuni palazzi, avendo prenotato al Kaani Palm Beach, ma mai mi sarei immaginato una situazione del genere. Certo, qualche angolino da cartolina per la foto c’è, ma nel complesso è deludente e “spoetizzante”. E il mare? Se vi aspettate l’acqua cristallina da catalogo, dimenticatela. L’acqua è sì pulita, ma quasi sempre leggermente torbida, con residui di alghe e piante galleggianti in vari momenti della giornata. Niente di eccezionale. Per trovare davvero il mare da copertina delle Maldive bisogna andare nei resort di lusso sugli atolli oppure, almeno, a Ghuli (isola molto più tranquilla, ideale per mare e relax). Da qui si raggiunge con: traghetto statale (2 USD a persona, partenza 7:25, ritorno 16:15) speedboat condivisa (8 USD a persona, partenza 11:30, ritorno 16:20) barca privata (30 USD a persona). Personalmente, per evitare di restare intrappolato in questo scenario fino al volo di rientro, mi sono organizzato facendo ogni giorno escursioni e tour fuori dall’isola. Non so chi abbia scritto recensioni tanto entusiaste di questo posto, né con che metro di paragone. Ma per chi ha un minimo di esperienza di viaggi, posso dirlo chiaramente: qui i soldi sono buttati. Evitatela!

An excellent place for a budget trip in Maldives. Affordable hotel and restaurant prices, and lots of excursion options. Inhabited island, for tourists that means no alcohol and no swimsuit in public places (except on "bikini beach"). Don't expect picture-postcard views, this isn't the "true Maldives", but still very beautiful.

During my last visit, I stayed on Maafushi Island for two days, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. Local island of Maldives. Various options for hotel, restaurant, mart, water sport activities & sea trip agent. We can choose acording to our budget, time preference and activities. While staying here, we can explore the local island locality. There are school, mosque, hospital, police station, water filter stucture, garbage process area, local resident area, prison area & other local beach. In the island there are 2 bikini beach and several non-bikin island. Is it so impressive to have such muslim friendly environment. All food in the island are HALAL & non halal food & drinks are prohibited in the land. The Maafushi people are so kind and friendly. Maybe some foreign workers are not so friendly. We can differentiate the way they treat us by their attitude. -Malaysian & Muslim Traveler - 🇲🇾

Beautiful place. Though it's a small island, but a lot is happening there. One can explore, experience the blue sea, have fun with the activities. Lively place with different people.

One of the best private islands in Maldives! Maafushi Island is very affordable, and some hotels have the best views of the beaches. One of my most favourite hotels is Kaani Beach Hotel. Another one is Arena Veli Seaview. These two hotels have both cheap and expensive rooms, depending on your budget. These hotels also offer free buffet breakfasts and free room upgrades. Besides hotels, Maafushi has some good gift and souvenir shops and plenty of day excursions to private islands. You only collect memories when you visit Maafushi. There are local photographers to capture your special moments. There are Dj parties, live music, destination dining, cultural nights, and a lot more each day of the week. 🥹🥲Staying at the iCom Marina in Maafushi we felt so sorry for the 8 lovely Macaw and Ara Parrots outside. Looks like nobody really takes care of them except the hotel staff who gives water and white bread a few times a day. Having parrots ourselves we know that is not a healthy diet, so we bought some nuts and fresh fruit for them daily and spent some time caring for and playing with them. It was easy to see it affected their well being. Any bird lovers visiting Maafushi please consider to help these lovely animals with something to boost their diets and give them some love 💕

Es una isla que se puede utilizar como base para realizar excursiones para disfrutar de la fauna marina. La oferta es variada y a buen precio, sobre todo en relación a los precios de las islas-resorts privadas. Sus habitantes son gentes amables y sonrientes. Tiene supermercados, restaurantes, heladería...Farmacia, cajero automático... En la punta noreste se encuentran las "playas bikini". Recordad que Maldivas es un país islámico y hay que respetar sus costumbres. Solo puedes bañarte con ropa occidental en las playas bikini. El resto es con toda la vestimenta. Hay diversidad de oferta alojativa y SPA. Estuvimos en Maldivas 7 noches de las que 5 estuvimos en Maafushi.

Maafushi islands is one of the best islands when you visit Maldives. There are private boats and ferries which will connect you from airport (MLE) to island 🏝️ in around 45 mins - 1 hr time. Scuba 🤿 diving, Para sailing ⛵️, Sea food, Swimming in blue clear sea water , Maldives 🇲🇻 Souvenir shops are the major must do activities. MAAFUSHI DIVE CLUB is a reliable diving tour operators for scuba diving. USD ( preferred) and Maldivian 🇲🇻 Rufiyaas are the currencies accepted. International cards 💳 will work most of the shops and hotels.

Wow, Maafushi is definitely the place to be, you have so many options, so many people go relate with, if you wish to come to Male, Maldives 🇲🇻, Maafushi is the place to be, snookering, fishing, parasailing, swimming with the sharks, dancing every evening, breakfast and dinner, plenty coconut water which is healthy. You will spend less when you choose to stay at Maafushi, Maldives.

Disappointing island. There is no longer virgin nature, it has become a very poorly built tourist area, tall buildings on an island so small that it hurts the eyes. Nothing paradise!!! 😭

Very calm island, people are very friendly and helpful. Tourists are also friendly just like myself. Close to the airport(Male) frequent speed boats are available to the airport/male.

It is an ideal community island for those seeking cost-effectiveness, suitable for surfing and beach volleyball. Sea turtles come ashore here to lay eggs, and the local residents are very friendly. It's a fantastic experience.
