Chennai Museum is a really nice place to visit if you enjoy history and culture. The collection is quite impressive, with an art gallery, a library, and many interesting exhibits to explore. You can easily spend a few hours here just walking around and learning new things. It does get a bit crowded on Sundays, so it’s better to visit on a weekday if you want a peaceful experience. On other days, the crowd is much less and you can comfortably enjoy everything. Overall, it’s a good place to visit with family or friends and definitely worth seeing if you’re in Chennai.

Great landmark monument of Chennai… to dedicate this to the musicians and the theater artists of the country is a phenomenal step forward… the theater has been recently refurbished with the touch of artistic appeal…

The show was a rare blend of technical brilliance and raw emotion. There were moments where you could close your eyes and almost feel SPB’s presence in the room. The arrangements didn't just replicate the original tracks; they honored them with a fresh, instrumental perspective that left us all wanting more. To the Trio - Lalith, Dileep & Bharath - Thank you for keeping the magic of SPB alive through your instruments. We are already looking forward to the next one!

This is an auditorium inside the egmore museum complex, occasionally some events happens, else it is closed. Other wise in this complex we have many things to see and understand our ancient days of living style, weapons are used by our chola, pandava, pallava, chalukiya periods. Good painting of ravivarma etc. Worh visiting 👍👍👍

An enjoyable one hour instrumental of some soul stirring numbers ♥️

Attending the candlelight flute concert featuring SPB sir songs was a truly soulful experience. The soft glow of candlelight, combined with the gentle notes of the flute, created a calm and immersive atmosphere. Each melody beautifully captured the emotion and nostalgia of SPB sir's timeless songs, even without lyrics. It felt peaceful, intimate, and deeply moving — a lovely tribute that stayed with me long after the concert ended.

Historic, excellent collection of taxidermy, coins and stamps, sculptures, science activity for students and more. Worth a visit. The refurbished abcd renovated canteen is beautiful with good food. Ample parking space. 3- 4 hours spend at the museum. Don't forget to attend any programs in the museum theatre. Another architecture marvel.

We visited the Museum Theatre to see the "Bratman" pantomime conducted by The Little Theatre, Chennai. They have been in the theatre business for 30+ years and they have been conducting events like this all throughout Chennai. The amphitheatre was huge with the seating arrangement almost similar to a real Roman amphitheatre. There was a group of seats at the centre of the hall where people had a direct view of the stage. The acoustics were good with the audio being heard across the entire hall with no issues whatsoever. The ambience was clean and neat with the seats being able to recline for maximum comfort. Overall, I had a great experience at the Museum Theatre and would definitely visit again for future events like this.

Had attended the magic showr oganized by PC Sorkar and Daya. The magic show was complete entertainment especially Daya.

A heritage site with awesome transformation. Loved the show by candle light, performers were too good. 1 hour of mesmerizing performance. Distressed me out.

I went to attend a music concert. It was a Friday evening. Because the music was soft, I guess the crowd was nice too. The ambience was perfect for the occasion and probably worth for true music lovers. Closed environment, classical piece, good musicians. Guess, such concerts should be held more in numbers for retaining the beauty of music as a culture.

Beautiful theatre, a real heritage spot, but maintenance is bad. Air conditioning seems to lack a thermostat as it gets uncomfortably cold and freezing after a while. The toilets stink, badly maintained. Can’t we get anything right?

A very nice cozy theatre with a good sound system as well. A bit of a pain for senior citizens as security/ police do not allow the taxi to come inside to pick you up after the show unless you haggle with them on the phone. The main gate is a bit of a walk for senior citizens

Excellent place to spend time with family. Apart from the Museum you also have a shopping place where you get good collection of dress, vase, slippers and ceramic kitchen utensils

Went to museum theatre for performance by Madras musical association. The theatre was excellent condition and well maintained, I felt I was in Europe. Kudos to the authorities and government. Toilets were also modern and well maintained. Ample parking space when we went for 7-9pm programme. Highly recommend.

This is in the Egmore Musuem compound. Over 100 years old, this theatre is heritage British style. The inside of the theatre looks regal, made of wood, so is the stage. Many plays are held here, but seating is limited, still holds an audience of 250-300. Parking is a bit of a challenge, but go early to secure park8ng.
