🛕 Visited Chandragiri Hills and it turned out to be one of the most scenic and peaceful experiences near Kathmandu. I took the cable car ride up to the hill and also visited Bhaleshwor Mahadev Temple at the top. The view from the hill is absolutely breathtaking, especially with clouds and fresh mountain air. The cable car ride itself is a highlight—it is considered one of the highest cable car rides in Nepal , offering stunning views of green hills and valleys throughout the journey. The ride feels safe, smooth, and very enjoyable. 💰 Ticket Price: Around NPR 960 per person (one way for locals/SAARC, may vary) ⏰ Timings: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (can change with weather) ⏳ Waiting time: 30–60 minutes on normal days, longer on weekends/holidays

Beautiful Ride Above the Clouds! The Chandragiri Hills Cable Car was one of the highlights of my time in Kathmandu. The cable car climbs to about 2,551 meters (8,370 ft), and the views from the top are incredible. Even when it was cloudy and hazy down in the Kathmandu Valley, the summit was clear — it honestly felt like rising above the weather. From the top, you get sweeping Himalayan views, including peaks like Mount Everest, Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Dorje Lakpa, and Gaurishankar on a clear day. The ride itself is smooth and scenic, floating quietly over forested hills. At the summit, visiting the peaceful Bhaleshwor Mahadev Temple adds a nice cultural touch. A relaxing, memorable experience — perfect if you want mountain views without a long trek. Highly recommended!

The hotel and restaurant are very clean and comfortable, with friendly staff and good food. Kids will love the play area, zip line, and free fall activities, which are safe and fun. The cable car ride itself is smooth and exciting. On a clear day, you can enjoy a breathtaking Everest and Himalayan range view. Chandragiri Hills is a must-visit destination that perfectly blends natural beauty with adventure. The atmosphere is incredibly refreshing, offering a peaceful escape with stunning Himalayan views. Worst experience. Even though I belonged to saarc sn country they charged extra which was common , trust me if it's foggy even slightest . You shouldn't even think about going there. I wasted so much time there & costed me npr Rs.1320 even though actual ticket was 990 . Even confronted . The ticket counter employee forced & even charged for the same . As if they were deliberately told to do so. When you go there is nothing on the top except for the view & beautiful Lord Shiva Temple. But only if there are no fog or cloud . Do not go there if you are unsure about weather you will ruin your experience. It costed me almost Rs.2000 just to go there & ticket. Total waste. Please do research before coming here. Extensively. Tickets are not cheap specially for non nepal residents & there is nothing except view to compensate. Good things : security, clean environment, better places for children if with family best places but still with tickets & all. Parks on the top are expensive enough but also good. Food is expensive & not very great , resort view ia awesome but again if raining, fog or anything comes up it is just waste of time.

Chandragiri Hills offers one of the best panoramic views of Kathmandu Valley and the Himalayan range. The cable cycle ride itself is smooth and exciting, and the view from the top is simply stunning. The area is clean, peaceful, and well managed. A perfect place to relax, take photos, and enjoy nature. Highly recommended for both locals and tourists!

The best spot for Panoramic mountain range views for tourists. Absolutely stunning view of nearly 180 degrees covering many sub ranges of Himalayan range, namely, Annapurna, Manaslu, Langtang, Ganesh and Everest (locally called Sagarmatha). There are many food and beverage stalls on top as also some nature trails. There is also a premium hotel on top and staying here for a couple of days will be a memory for life provided time and weather is right. Also a Shiva temple named Bhaleswar Mahadev is located on top. A number of adventure sports are also available for enthusiast. The cable car takes 15 minutes approximately from bottom and the view from the car is spectacular. Its costly, somewhere around 1200NPR to and fro. However, its worth spending that much for the view from above. Also it was gathered that interested persons can also trek to the top from the base. Overall excellent site and very highly recommended.

There are many reasons to visit here, clean the environment, don't throw thrash here and there, please use the dustbin. Good place for adventure lovers and can take kids too. Religious place of Bholeshwor Mahadev as there is a belief that wishes come true here. Chandragiri Hill is definitely one of the best short getaways near Kathmandu. The cable car ride is an amazing experience — gliding above lush green forests with cool, fresh air all around feels refreshing and peaceful. Once you reach the top, the panoramic view of the Himalayas is absolutely breathtaking. On clear days, you can see the majestic Ganesh, Langtang, Manaslu, and even Annapurna ranges. The temple, the view tower, and the well-maintained garden make the place really enjoyable to explore. However, there are a few things that could be improved. The cable car ticket is quite expensive, and visitors are not allowed to bring their own food or water. Once you reach the top, everything is overpriced — even basic items cost a lot. For example, a bottle of water that costs Rs. 20 in the city is sold for Rs. 100 there. It feels a bit unfair and takes away from the overall good experience. Apart from that, it’s a wonderful place to relax, take photos, and enjoy time with family or friends. The cleanliness, scenic beauty, and peaceful atmosphere make it worth visiting at least once.

Great place to see the beautiful mountains surrounding Kathmandu. The view is breathtaking and it's an easy journey in the cable car to the top of the mountain. Do watch out for their break times so that you don't get stranded at the top. Waiting to descend. Also remember they have no control of the clouds.

The view sure was worth it but there's nth else beside that. If u are an atheist u're not gonna enjoy much other than the view and food. It's pretty much just a tourist spot. Overhyped in my opinion (in my opinion)
