Although some areas could be cleaner, the overall experience was amazing. Visiting Dal Lake truly feels like experiencing the beauty and soul of Kashmir.

Watching the sunset here was one of the most peaceful and magical experiences ever. The shikara ride, floating market, and calm atmosphere make this place unforgettable. No matter how many photos or videos you see, the real beauty of Dal Lake can only be felt in person. A must-visit when in Kashmir.

One of the main tourist attractions in Shrinagar. Its a beauty that cannot be captured in photographs. Shikara ride is a must to enjoy the whole lake. You can bargain a bit for the prices but the rates are usually fixed with slight fluctuations during off and peak season. But do have the full visit of the lake not the short ride. They'll take you around the lake and to the floating market on the lake. The rates are a bit overpriced but not for every article. Some clothing and artificats are justified for their price. Some vendors for food and beverages will definitely approach you and they are surprisingly witty and cordial. If you can bargain then you may get a good price but even then the rates are inflated. You can have all those things at any restaurant at much lower prices.

Dal lake view is very good however cleaning must be done regularly and more shikara boats and activities should be promoted for tourism.

Our visit to Dal Lake was truly unforgettable, and the shikara ride was one of the highlights of our Kashmir trip. Gliding peacefully over the crystal-clear waters, surrounded by majestic mountains and beautiful houseboats, was an amazing experience. Even though it's really crowded, Dal lake is a must visit place. It's beautiful, the views while sitting on the boat is just gorgeous. The small canals which the boat goes through is really unique to atleast India. Though one thing which is highly recommended - BARGAIN hard. They will start at 5-6k a boat, we got it for 3k, but later when we talked to other people they got it for as low as 1500, so bargain extremely hard there. Apart from this a lovely place.

Gliding slowly across the lake in a colorful shikara, we soaked in the serene surroundings while our son enjoyed every moment with excitement. Floating markets, vendors selling flowers, handicrafts, and even snacks right on the water made the experience even more fascinating. It felt like a world of its own, thriving peacefully on water. Evenings at Dal Lake were equally magical. As the sun began to set, the sky transformed into shades of orange and pink, casting a golden glow over the lake. We spent quiet moments together, taking photographs, enjoying the cool breeze, and simply appreciating nature’s beauty. The entire experience was not just about sightseeing but about spending quality time as a family. Definitely a great place to relax and enjoy nature. 😌 You'll definitely visit this place when you come to Srinagar... People are not keeping it clean it seems. I think the authorities should take some steps to maintain it cleaner. And people should stop littering the spot...

Good experience. Shikara ride was little costly however its fine considering the time he spent with us. Shopping in meena bazaar could be avoided as its not as cheap as claimed by shikara rider however few stores are fine.
