Mojtaba Abutalebi creates every painting in his shop himself. When you purchase a piece, you’re buying directly from the artist, not a dealer. He is dedicated to preserving the ancient traditions of Persian painting by handcrafting every element of his work: he grinds natural pigments and minerals like saffron and lapis to make his own paints, and fashions his own brushes using hair trimmed from stray cats he cares for. For his painting surfaces, he uses camel bone collected from animals that have died naturally. Each artwork is remarkably small and detailed-so intricate that a magnifying glass is needed to fully appreciate them. Through his meticulous process, Abutalebi beautifully captures the spirit of Esfahan in every piece.
