Udaigarh Udaipur - Heritage Hotel with Lake View Rooftop

Stayed here recently and honestly the overall vibe of the place was really nice. The location is good and Lal Ghat is nearby, which is best to visit after dinner when there’s less crowd and it feels peaceful. The rooms were beautiful, clean, and well maintained. Toilets were also very clean, which is something I personally notice a lot while staying anywhere. The lobby and common areas had a very aesthetic, Pinterest-like feel and the ambiance throughout the property was amazing. One thing I didn’t like was that eating inside the rooms isn’t allowed whether it’s food from their own restaurant upstairs or from outside. That felt a little inconvenient. Drinking and smoking are also not allowed on the property. The pool area was nice too, but timings are limited till around evening only. Also, the café/restaurant service upstairs was extremely slow. We ordered just a coffee and it took around 40–50 minutes to arrive. So for food and service, I wouldn’t really recommend it much. Another thing to keep in mind is the parking. It’s quite far from the property, so if you’re coming with your own vehicle, it may not be very convenient. You’ll probably have to take a rickshaw to reach the hotel, which cost us around ₹150–₹200 depending on the number of people (we were 5). But apart from these things, the views, aesthetics, and overall stay experience were genuinely good.

Un bel hôtel authentique dans la vieille ville d’Udaipur. L’atout majeur de cet hôtel est son rooftop où la vue est incroyable. Le dîner sur ce magnifique rooftop est de qualité à des prix très raisonnable. Le petit déjeuner est classique et bon. Les serveurs sont au petit soin pour vous tout comme le personnel de la réception. La chambre est simple mais propre. Le point à amélioré serait la qualité du matelas. Si vous faites une étape à Udaipur, je recommande cet hôtel

The hotel was pretty decent, but the restaurant truly stole the show. The rooftop view was absolutely breathtaking, the cocktails were expertly crafted and delicious, and the food was just phenomenal - I was in culinary heaven. The staff were super attentive, friendly, and genuinely helpful. The atmosphere was lively yet relaxed. I'd definitely go back, mainly for the food and that stunning view 🥹

I stayed at Hotel Udaigarh, Udaipur, and had a very bad experience. The reception staff _____singh rathore)——behaved very poorly. Even though I had booked a room online, the same room was not provided to us. The only positive part of the stay was the hotel servants and helpers—they were very polite and helpful. They were the best people in the entire hotel. Even before allowing us to enter the room, the reception staff kept repeatedly demanding payment. We had already paid 95% of the total amount, with only 5% pending, yet they kept pressuring and harassing us. The reception staff was extremely rude—honestly, I have never encountered such behavior anywhere else. Overall, a very bad experience. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience. I would not recommend Hotel Udaigarh.

I had an actually really decent stay here. The rooms are clean, towels are clean and staff is friendly. The rooftop with the swimming pool is so good and the sunsets are great here. You can also enjoy a (really) good cocktail on the terrace or a cold beer. On top of that, food is also tasty

Absolutely terrible. Misleading listing, zero access, and the rudest staff we’ve encountered anywhere. Udaigarh Hotel turned out to be a complete disaster. First, they pushed us aggressively to transfer money to a third-party account, which is already a huge red flag. No proper hotel does this. They were behind us nonstop for payment — but the moment we needed help, they disappeared. Their listing on Booking.com is blatantly misleading. It only says “no parking,” but doesn’t mention the crucial fact that cars cannot reach the property at all. This is not a minor detail. We were traveling with heavy luggage and a pregnant member. Expecting guests to drag bags through narrow lanes because the hotel hides this information is unacceptable. When we went to clarify after discovering the issue, the staff (Pradeep) behaved shockingly rudely, almost as if they were doing us a favour by even speaking to us. Zero courtesy, zero empathy. They refused to listen, refused to acknowledge their misleading listing, and simply kept tossing responsibility around — “talk to Booking.com,” “email the owner,” anything to avoid dealing with the problem. It’s unbelievable how quickly they switch — before payment they chase you; after payment they treat you like an inconvenience. Because of their lies, unprofessional attitude, and complete lack of hospitality, we had no choice but to cancel. Honestly, this place should not be listed until they fix their misleading information and retrain their staff on basic manners. Extremely disappointing. There are dozens of better hotels in Udaipur — stay anywhere but here.

Nous avons apprécié notre séjour de 2 nuits en famille. Le lieu est propre et le personnel très accueillant et serviable. Le petit déjeuner est bon et le dîner indien excellent ! Agréable rooftop avec une magnifique vue sur la ville.

This was our second visit to Hotel Udaigarh after 2015. We chose to come back mainly for the beautiful Lake Pichola view from the rooftop restaurant. Not much has changed over the years except they’ve now added an elevator, which is a nice improvement. The stay was pleasant, and the food and ambience were both good. The only downside is that the terrace opens only after 8 AM, so you miss the early morning lake view. A lot has changed in the surrounding area — cars are no longer allowed, so you have to take an autorickshaw from Sitala Mata Gate and then walk about 200–300 meters. The hotel staff are helpful and will send someone to carry your luggage if needed.

Magnifique hôtel offrant une vue exceptionnelle sur le lac et les différents monuments d’Udaipur des terrasses du restaurant et de la piscine. Que ce soit les chambres très confortables ou les espaces communs tout est spacieux et d’une propreté remarquable. Le personnel est discret, sympathique et très professionnel. Et, en plus cet établissement est idéalement situé au centre de la vieille ville et à proximité du lac. On y a passé un excellent séjour que nous avons d ailleurs prolongé

Overall, I had a decent stay at this hotel, though there are a few areas that could use improvement. Basic amenities such as dental kits and floor mats were not available, and the bed wasn’t particularly comfortable. However, the rooftop restaurant offers stunning lake views, which is definitely a highlight of the property. The breakfast spread was also quite good.

It is one of the best places to stay if you are looking to explore the old city as most of the iconic tourist destinations are within walking distance. The rooftop restaurant of the hotel is the prime attraction as it provides a scenic view of the beautiful Pichola Lake, the Taaz Lake Palace and the Jagmandir Palace with a very mesmerizing sunset view. Would recommend people to go for it. But please do not book cabs or travel in personal vehicles as the hotel entrance is in a narrow lane and vehicles are not allowed beyond a point near chandpole. Two wheelers and auto rides can easily access the hotel. The streets near the hotel boast a very rich traditional market with varieties of handmade goods and other beautiful lakeview restaurants. The staff was very cooperative and gentle. The room was squeaky clean but a little bit small considering the tariff charged. Also the rooms were same as shown in the pictures. But every discomfort fades away when you sip hot tea with tasty breakfast looking over the beautiful lake.

The hotel service is excellent in every aspect, making the stay truly comfortable and enjoyable. The location is superb and very convenient. The terrace view is absolutely wonderful, offering a stunning sight. From there, you can experience the beautiful “City of Lakes” in all its glory. Overall, a memorable and highly recommended stay.

We stayed for 5 nights at udaigarh hotel. It was a 100 percent satisfied experience, room was clean, spacious , we also got extra bed on request Staff overall was very polite and responsive. Hotel has very nice view from its restaurant, one of the best , alao it has Swimming pool, well maintained , and pool also has a unrestricted view to beautiful city lake and palaces Regarding resturant food, it was amazibg, we almost ate 7 to 8 times during our stay, every single items is delicious Staff at restaurant is very courteous, u can have dinner in candle light at roof top with a fatst8c night view Location of hotel is so good that merely 1 to 2 min walk u get to seee many attractions We loved our stay there

The property was terrible. This was probably one of the worst experience I had in any property. The room was unhygienic. The bathroom was unhygienic. The sheets were the worst, I got rashes on my whole body. After sleeping in their bed. It had bugs. Sheet felt like it had some powdery stuff on it. I don’t know for how many years they’ve been using the same bed sheet and pillow covers I had to buy my own bedsheet to put on top of it. Couldn’t take the blanket as well. Had a poor sleep for for the three days I stayed there. tried my best to cancel, but couldn’t. the owner was super rude as well, He didn’t allow us to stay on terrace after 11 PM and said we are closing. You couldn’t walk around in the lobby because the staff is sleeping there and they don’t want to get disturbed. Their cleaning protocol was really bad as well. The same dude cleaning the pot, then make your bedsheet. These kind of properties should not exist in our country. Country is a country of hospitality. Do not recommend anyone staying here ever. At night around 12 AM, we ordered some food and asked for cutlery. There was staff there, but said the kitchen was closed, and the owner took the keys. That’s the most stupidest thing I’ve ever heard in a hotel.

Magnifique hôtel avec vue sur le lac Pichola où vous pourrez admirer des magnifiques sunset tout en mangeant des plats indiens excellent. Les chambres disposent de tout le confort. Le petit déjeuner est très bon: choix entre 3 options. Le personnel est très gentil et serviable. Localisation excellente pour visiter la ville à pied, à deux pas du City palace et d’un temple. Attention: vu sa localisation centrale (qui est une super qualité), il n’est pas possible d’y accéder en voiture. La voiture devra vous laisser à 8min à pied. Le chemin est possible en tuktuk.

Wir waren nur am Abend essen auf der Dachterrasse. Man hat einen atemberaubenden Blick über den Pichhola-See und die Gebirge. Der Höhepunkt war der malerische Sonnenuntergang. Ja, natürlich war das Essen und der Service auch ganz wunderbar, aber sorry, das ist bei dem Ausblick nur Nebensache. Sehr empfehlenswert und absoluter Geheimtipp!

2 nuits passées dans cet hôtel, la prestation est en cohérence avec le service proposé ! Le jour de notre départ l’avion était à 20h et après une journée de forte chaleur, juste avant de partir, il nous a été proposé de prendre d’une douche dans une chambre non louée, c’est très sympa de la part de l’hôtel !!

My stay at Hotel Udaigarh turned out to be one of the worst experiences I have ever had at any hotel. From the moment I checked in, nothing felt welcoming or professional. The room was poorly maintained, with cleanliness issues everywhere, and basic amenities were either missing or not working properly. The staff was extremely unhelpful and showed no sense of responsibility or hospitality; every request felt like a burden to them. The service was painfully slow, and despite repeatedly informing them about the problems, nothing was resolved throughout my stay. The overall environment felt mismanaged, overpriced, and far below the standards they claim to provide. What was supposed to be a comfortable and relaxing trip ended up becoming stressful and disappointing because of this hotel. I would strongly advise others to avoid staying here if they expect even basic levels of comfort and service.

Très bel hôtel dans un ancien batiment d'Udaipur, avec une décoration soignée (peintures murales, plafonds peints, portes en bois sculptées, vaste atrium). Les chambres sont spacieuses et confortables. Rooftop avec vue surplombante sur le lac Pichola et vue sur le City Palace, parfait pour un diner romantique aux chandelles. Très bon restaurant avec des prix raisonnables, et des options de cuisine internationale et indienne. Agréable salon de massage sur place. L'emplacement est parfait, à 2 pas des sites touristiques principaux (City Palace, Jagdish temple, Bagar e Haveli etc). Excellent service, l'hotel organise également le transfert à l'aéroport avec aide de porteurs pour transporter les bagages à travers les ruelles étroites d'Udaipur jusqu'à un parking accessible aux voitures.

Good hotel , heritage type, excellent lake pichola side view,with roof top dining,nice small swimming pool, ok room sizes and washroom is average. Food is good , nice service, well behaved staff, in narrow lane so difficult to get four wheeler/car drop on hotel door, but is walking distance from Jagdish temple chowk .city place walking distance from here.highly recommend.
