Seed Cafe

We visited Seed Café during our trip to Sri Lanka and it turned out to be a genuinely great find. The space is beautiful, warm, airy, and thoughtfully designed. I especially loved the ceiling, which adds so much character to the café and immediately sets the mood. We started with their cold brew, which was smooth and refreshing. For food, we ordered the Beef Benny Croissant, the egg was perfectly runny, the beef flavourful, and the whole dish well balanced. We also tried the Seed of Life Big Breakfast, which was hearty and well put together. To finish, we went for their drink called Black Magic, a mix of coconut water, blackberries, pineapple, activated charcoal, and basil seeds. It was incredibly refreshing and the perfect way to end the meal. A beautiful space, good coffee, and well executed dishes. Seed Café is definitely worth a stop.

We had a lovely experience at Seed Café in Colombo. The menu was terrific, with lots of great healthy options to choose from. Our food portions were very generous, and everything we ordered was delicious! The drinks were excellent, and the desserts were a highlight too. The setting is very pleasant, with fans set up to keep the space cool and comfortable, which made it a nice place to relax. The only downside was the exceptionally slow service. We visited from a cruise ship, so it’s possible the staff were overwhelmed by the volume of visitors? Overall, a great café with fantastic food and a lovely atmosphere—definitely recommend it!

Shenal was an excellent help today and the food was just incredible! The beef croissant was so tasty and the sauce was just right. Service was quick and the cafe was gorgeous. Highly recommend the naarang juice as well. Would definitely return!

Beautiful place and nice atmosphere, but service could be better. I ordered Eggs Benedict and was not asked how I would like my eggs cooked. The presentation looked amazing but when I tried the dish - egg whites were very runny, which I personally dislike, and when I mentioned it, I was told this is how it’s usually served in Sri Lanka. Would be great if staff checked guest’s preferences beforehand. They fixed the situation and then brought ideal eggs, as per my preference

This is my second time coming here, and it’s just as good as I remember ☕️ The cappuccino is excellent—not acidic at all. And the highlight for me: the chili egg crab croissant… absolutely amazing! 🔥 If you’re in Colombo, this place is a must-visit. Definitely give it a try!

I heard good things about about this spot so I had to check it out. Coffee is excellent very similar to what you'd find in Aus or NZ. I had a very light breakfast and a latte. Coffee is excellent food is good. Staff are super friendly and welcoming. Come for the coffee you won't be disappointed.

The food is quite tasty and visually pleasing but small portions and overpriced. I was still hungry after the breakfast and had to order more after. The staff is friendly and approachable and the waiting was not that long. The atmosphere is relaxing however there is a construction happening right now so it is pretty noisy. Overall experience is good but maybe a bit overhyped with insta pics.

Очень приятное место для завтрака или бранча в Коломбо. Seed Cafe порадовало стильной атмосферой и уютным интерьером — чувствуется, что продумана каждая деталь. Блюда красиво подаются и действительно вкусные. Особенно понравился кофе и смузи-боул — свежо, сбалансировано и сытно. Обслуживание вежливое, персонал дружелюбный. Цены выше среднего, но качество еды и обстановка это оправдывают. Отличное место, чтобы спокойно позавтракать или встретиться с друзьями. Обязательно вернусь снова.

Absolutely loved our breakfast at Seed Cafe. The food was fresh, beautifully presented and full of flavour — the smashed avocado and eggs were especially good. Coffee was excellent too. The atmosphere felt calm, stylish and welcoming, making it the perfect spot to ease into a Colombo morning. Friendly service and a great overall vibe — would definitely come back.

The workers were so nice and even helped me figure out what I wanted to order and we’re very consistent with checking in how we were doing. We absolutely love the energy and the service quality of this place will be back again!!! Sidenote, also super reasonably priced, Food was delicious😍

Really beautiful cafe and tonnes of options that are fresh and healthy. The portions are a bit on the smaller side which was surprising but I really recommend their smoothies/drinks. It's nestled in a really beautiful green area with beautiful spacey decor. Friendly service!

If you’re looking for a good brunch spot in Colombo, Seed Cafe is one of the best. It’s set in a beautifully renovated old villa with a calm, aesthetic vibe that’s perfect for slow mornings or coffee dates. Their big breakfast, French toast, and Beef Benny croissant are must-tries, especially paired with their matcha or coffee. The food is fresh, portions are generous, and the whole place has a cozy but stylish atmosphere that makes it worth the hype.

Amazing cafe, the food, the service and the vibe is fantastic. Shout out to Shenal and Shan for such great service and the welcome to Sri Lanka. Thank you so much. Also great for vegans & coffee! The cold brew oat coffee was beautiful!

We had pesto pasta and truffle. We also ordered cappuccino which was one of the best in Sri Lanka since it’s hard to find with our European standards. Shelan our waiter was helpful and very friendly. Great, minimal environment and friendly staff. Structure under construction so I am guessing it will get even better outside.

Wonderful meal, and the service was terrific. The only downside is the insufferable heat even with fans and a high ceiling. Nothing much Seed can do save to AC the whole place, but on a hot, humid day, it isn’t the kind of space that lends itself to dressing up, and having a long, conversation over a meal with friends or family. That apart, a good spot.

Fabulous food! I had the golden eggs with goat's cheese and truffle oil. It was savoury and mildly spicy to my liking with crunchy seeds around. The the cold brew was also spot on!

Danke für den besten Cappucino in Colombo bisher. Auch das Essen und die weiteren Getränke sind inspiriert. Der Service in diesem Fall von Shennal makellos. Gerne hätten wir noch ein T Shirt als Andenken mitgenommen; aber das gab es leider nicht in schwarz. Viel Erfolg beim Sanieren Eures neuen Cafés. Wir kommen gewiss wieder.

Always a good place to meet friends or have a meal with your loved ones. Good coffee, breakfast, brunch, and lunch. My favorite drink is their tropical drink.
