To The Management of Udaivilas,
I want you to read this carefully—not as just another complaint, but as an honest reflection of what I experienced at your property. Because what happened was truly disappointing.
I had booked a dinner reservation through your online platform (3-days in advance). I received a confirmation email stating that your team would contact me within 24 hours. Since no one reached out, I still trusted that the booking was confirmed and planned my evening accordingly ( as nowhere jn your email it was written that its not a confirmed booking).
However, when we arrived at your property, we were told that there was no reservation under my name.
What followed made the experience even worse. We spoke to around four different staff members or managers, and instead of listening to us properly or trying to understand the situation, each one simply repeated the same response—that nothing could be done. It felt like a scripted reply, with no real effort to help or resolve the issue.
One interaction, in particular, was extremely upsetting. One of your managers spoke to us, she said, “Now tell me, what can I do?”—as if the responsibility was ours to find a solution, rather she making ‘actual honest efforts’ to make it possible, if she would have atleast made an effort could also felt we were heard. That moment felt extremely disrespectful and disheartening. As guests, we expected empathy and some willingness to help, not to be spoken in that tone and way.
We felt completely undervalued and honestly quite humiliated.
What made the situation even more confusing was that we later saw other guests being allowed in for dinner, even though we had been clearly told that that our restaurants are “closed”. This gave us the strong impression that we were not being told the truth, which only added to our frustration and disappointment.
I don’t usually like to compare, but it’s hard to ignore that other properties in the same category are doing a far better job when it comes to hospitality and guest handling.
This wasn’t just about a missed reservation—it was about how the situation was handled. There was no effort to listen, no attempt to find a solution, and no sense of care or accountability. For a property of your reputation, this is simply unacceptable.
Luxury hospitality is not just about a beautiful property—it is about how you make your guests feel. In this case, we felt ignored, disrespected, and completely unimportant.
I am not writing this for compensation or a formal apology. I am writing this so that you take it seriously. Please review your reservation system, train your staff to handle such situations with empathy, and ensure that every guest is treated with basic respect and honesty.
Udaipur is a beautiful city, and people come here expecting memorable experiences. You had the chance to create one, but unfortunately, this turned into a very disappointing and frustrating experience for us.
I will not be recommending your property based on this experience, and I do intend to share this feedback so others are aware.
I truly hope you reflect on this and make meaningful improvements.
