Inn Sea Horizon Ahungalla

Es war der krönende Abschluss meiner Reise. Ich habe hier die letzten 2 Nächte meiner Sri Lanka Reise verbracht und ich wünschte ich hätte noch länger bleiben können. Auf meiner 3 wöchigen Reise konnte ich hier das erste mal so richtig relaxen und abschalten. Ein Idyll der Ruhe und wunderschön unter Palmen und der Pool war eine herrliche Erfrischung. Das Zimmer war sehr geräumig und Tip Top sauber, die Klimaanlage funktionierte einwandfrei, das Bett war groß und bequem. Am ersten Abend gab es für alle Gäste ein Buffet mit toller Auswahl an Essen, alles frisch von der Gastgeber Familie gekocht. Man wird dort sowieso nicht wie ein normaler Gast behandelt, sondern als würde man zur Familie gehören. Alle waren so nett und aufmerksam. Der Besitzer spricht sogar deutsch. Am zweiten Abend bestellte ich Fisch und dieser wurde auch frisch von der Familie zubereitet und es war wirklich eine große Portion. Ich kann sagen dass diese Unterkunft die beste auf meiner Reise war und ich werde definitiv wiederkommen.

Located 15 minutes walk from the main road and bus stop. Take care as google maps may send you up the wrong road.- access is off Thotawatta Road. Feels a bit off the beaten track. The nearest beach is 5 minutes away turn right and access via short cut through people's houses, kids will show you but expext to be asked for money persistently. Better choice is to turn left and head to the main Ahungalla beach. Ahungalla is a small town, so facilities are quite limited. At check in it was very diferent from the other 9 hotels and homestays we used on this trip, we were asked for money up front before even seeing the room or recovering from our journey, there was a little confusion on the price as the host insisted on only talking in USD, we asked three times for the price in rupees before giving up and saying we would pay later, this was not a nice or welcoming experience. The room was a good size but had no chair, linen was a bit musty. The pool was nice but take care getting in as the tiles slope all around the edge. The best thing was the evening meal, freshly preparred rice and curry was one of the best meals we had, very authentic and properly spiced with complex flavours. Breakfasts were basic.

I had a very disappointed experience at this hotel. We had booked 5 rooms for one night, but one of the rooms was not provided until 4 hours after our arrival. Because of this delay, two members of our group was left waiting without a room for several hours, which was completely unacceptable. Additionally, the overall condition of the hotel was very poor. there was no water available, the rooms were not properly maintained and the air conditioning was not working in some rooms. From the moment we arrived, the staff and owner were extremely rude and spoke to us in a disrespectful and unprofessional manner. Due to these serious issues, along with the unacceptable behavior of the staff and owner, we were forced to leave on the very first night. I strongly do not recommend this hotel to anyone.

We had a wonderful stay at this great hotel.they offers great hospitality service and friendly welcoming staff. Very clean and comfortable rooms and the family Room was great including the small kitchen and the balcony.They arrange the Room nicely and well eqviped with nice Furnitures. Also we had the berakfast and dinner at the hotel. Food was delicious and very fresh for the very resonable price. Specially thanks for Chef he cooked very tasty food even my kids are very Happy.The owner was very friendly and ready to assist all the time with nice smile All the staff were very friendly and profitional . Everything was perfect .. Thank you so much everyone. Highly reccomended and definitly we will be back . ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We had an ok stay at this property but by comparison to all the other homestays and hotels we stayed in Sri Lanka over two weeks, it was our least favorite. Unfortunately, I can't recommend it in its current state, although I feel there is a good chance the owners will improve it over time. Location: Excellent, a short walk to a nice long beach and a small swimming beach. The walk is mostly shaded and the property is very quiet. Service: The people at the property are nice. Rooms: These were a let down for the price. The first room offered had many flies as it was by the kitchen so we paid extra for an upper floor room. The good things were the AC and the hot water. However the design is not very pleasing, the beds are made of a velvety material, the sheets are synthetic, the pillows are very uncomfortable. The entrance door is see through so light comes in and it wasn't properly installed. The curtains are also not dark enough to block light. The bathroom is not separated, but this is normal is Sri Lanka. Again, if it were half the price, this level would be fine but for what we paid compared to other properties it was not comparable. Food: Good but not as amazing as in other homestays. The breakfast was really sad, again, by comparison to the amazing breakfast experiences elsewhere. Prices are like a real restaurant but the experience also isn't. Property: in theory, gorgeous. In practice, there are issues. The pool was dirty, so we couldn't use it. We saw them cleaning it the next day when we were leaving so I guess this might be a specific issue. There is also just stuff everywhere. This could be an amazing space but needs better curation and care. Overall, inn sea Horizon has a lot of potential but right now the price doesn't justify the experience at all. I do wish the owners the best of luck as they seemed nice!

Rooms cleanliness was very good, quiet environment. Good option for a quick stay. Pool was nice and warm too. The place a quite inside a road, walking is not wise alone at night.

Wirklich ein sehr schönes kleines Gästehaus, das von einer wunderbar gastfreundlichen Familie betrieben wird. Hier wird alles gemacht, damit man sich wohl und willkommen fühlt. Das Haus hat einen schönen Pool und es gibt sehr gutes Essen, Frühstück und Abendessen. Vielen Dank an alle.

Nicht zu empfehlen!! Der Inhaber hat am Tag, unserer mit ihm weit voraus telefonisch vereinbarten Anreise, unsere Buchung storniert. Wir waren schon am Weg dorthin und mussten uns kurzfristig eine neue Unterkunft suchen, was mit Kleinkind sehr ungünstig ist. Herzlos und komplett unprofessionell. Nie wieder!! Ich würde Minuspunkte vergeben, wenn das ginge!

Tolle, saubere und neue Zimmer in ruhiger, idyllischer Dschungel Lage. 3 schöne Strände sind in wenigen Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar, ebenso der Ort mit Supermarkt. Sehr freundliche Besitzer Familie. Es gibt ein nettes Restaurant für Hausgäste. Mir hat das Essen weniger gut geschmeckt. Unbedingt Insektenschutz mit nehmen!

A very good place to stay in Ahungalla. The rooms are new and clean. The owner is friendly and always caring. Breakfast was nice and tasty. Ahungalla Beach is within walking distance—you can reach it by taking a small road behind the hotel, without going back to the main road. Car parking is small and a bit difficult for turning. Overall, a very good stay. Highly recommended

Ich war fast zwei Wochen in der Unterkunft. Die Zimmer sind schön eingerichtet und sauber. Der Gastgeber hilft, wo er kann und ist immer für ein Gespräch zu haben. Das Frühstück war einheimisch und Tee bzw. Kaffee konnte man sich jederzeit selbst zubereiten. Würde jederzeit wiederkommen.

Sehr schöne ruhige Anlage mit 7 Zimmern und Pool. Der bemühte Besitzer Silva kümmert sich persönlich um die Gäste. Kühlschrank vorhanden.

Cozy hotel with with nice service and outstanding kitchen. During a week+ stay there no issues I can remember, it's kind been at home. Owning family is very helpful - will it be a staying question or some travel around. Location isn't the best though - far from airport and common sightseeings. 3 different beach zones around having not that much tourists attractions, but provide different waves level.

At this place they really help us. We arrived late at night after the last minute booking and they arranged everything for us. The rooms are big and comfortable and there is also a nice garden. We appreciate the tasty food by Shan, the local chef. We really enjoyed our stay, Silva and his family really took care of us. From the hotel you will be at the beach in 5 minutes. If you would like to buy something, you can walk around 10 minutes to the nearest shop.

The family room we stayed in was spacious and clean. The staff were amazing and were very helpful. Good amenities for the price. Great value for money. Only improvement I would suggest is the breakfast options. Other than 6 was fantastic.
