The Prague Astronomical Clock is absolutely breathtaking and one of those places that reminds you why old Europe is special. Standing in Old Town Square, you can feel the history — this clock has been marking time for centuries, and it still works beautifully today. The hourly show is simple but powerful, not flashy, and that’s exactly the charm. It’s traditional, mechanical, and deeply rooted in history — something modern attractions simply can’t replicate. The details on the clock face, the astronomical elements, and the surrounding architecture are incredible, especially if you take a moment to really look. Visit it during the day to appreciate the craftsmanship, and again at night when the atmosphere is magical and less crowded. It’s free to see, timeless in spirit, and truly one of Prague’s greatest treasures. A must-see, no excuses.

Visiting the Astronomical Clock in Prague was a great experience and a must-see attraction. The clock is absolutely stunning, especially when you see it up close and appreciate the details and history behind it. We were staying nearby, so we found ourselves visiting it daily during our stay, and it never got boring. I really enjoyed watching the hourly show—it’s short, but the atmosphere in the square makes it special. The Old Town Square itself is lively and beautiful, surrounded by historic buildings, cafés, and street performers, which adds a lot to the experience. I highly recommend visiting both during the day and at night, as it looks completely different and equally impressive. Definitely one of Prague’s iconic landmarks worth seeing.

The Prague Astronomical Clock is truly one of the most impressive and iconic landmarks in the city, and it absolutely lives up to its reputation. The level of detail in the design is extraordinary, and you can easily spend a long time admiring the craftsmanship and historical elements that make this clock so unique. The surrounding Old Town Square adds even more charm to the experience, creating a lively and beautiful atmosphere filled with street performers, cafés, and stunning architecture. It is an excellent spot for photography, whether you visit during the day when the colors and details are clearly visible, or in the evening when the lighting gives the entire area a magical feeling. The hourly show attracts many visitors, and although it gets crowded, it is still worth watching at least once. Arriving a bit early helps you find a good viewing position and capture great photos without too much obstruction. This destination is a must-see for anyone visiting Prague, not only because of its historical significance but also because of its visual beauty and central location. It fits perfectly into any travel itinerary and can be combined easily with nearby attractions, restaurants, and shops. Highly recommended for history lovers, photographers, and anyone who wants to experience one of the city’s most famous treasures. ✨📸🕰️

Beware, tourist trap ! If you'd like to pay 450cz entry fee + 100cz to use the lift which make nearly 23€/pers. and it doesn't include "Gothic" or "Apostles" guided tours for which you need to add another 150cz ! Only to see an old click being digitalised, a view over the square from 42 meters high and basically very little authentic stuff to see inside. Well, feel free but I would advise you to keep your money to visit other iconic Prague's sites such as the Castle "Pražský hrad" or the beautiful Cathedral "Katedrála svatého Víta" ! Though you can still enjoy the sight the clock and bells ringing with apostles coming out by pairs on the hour from down below at the magnificent old town square ...

Noi siamo andati a piedi. Vista sulla città spettacolare. Allo scoccare di ogni ora l orologio mette in movimento delle figure rappresentanti i dodici apostoli.

We enjoyed going up to the top of the astronomical clock to see the views of the city and the square below. My mom had a cane and was able to manage without the elevator. We went on the tour of the premise afterwards and while our tour guide was very sweet and did a good job, we all three agreed we could have skipped that. The building and its rooms aren’t that impressive.

Can’t actually see the clock from inside. If you paid for the guided tour you get to see the Apostles, so we skipped. Honestly, it was only okay. The views were nice but as I have stated in the other reviews of Prague, once you have been up one tower, you don’t need to go up the others. Charles Bridge was the best and most fun. Enjoy the clock from the square and watch the hourly chime. That’s the best part anyway.

One of the most iconic and impressive landmarks in Prague. Located in the heart of the Old Town Square, this historic clock is truly fascinating both for its architecture and its intricate mechanism. The fact that it has been operating for centuries is remarkable in itself. The hourly show attracts a large crowd and creates a lively atmosphere in the square. When you look closely, you can appreciate the incredible craftsmanship and artistic details. The combination of Gothic architecture and astronomical elements turns it into far more than just a clock — it feels like a masterpiece. The surrounding area is vibrant and full of history, with charming cafés, street performers, and beautiful historic buildings. It’s a must-see for anyone visiting Prague and perfectly captures the spirit of the city. Definitely deserves 5 stars.

Zamanın Durduğu Yer: Prag Astronomik Saat Kulesi Prag’ın kalbinde, Eski Şehir Meydanı’nda (Old Town Square) bulunan bu 600 yıllık mucizeyi görmeden dönmek imkansız! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Where Time Stands Still: The Prague Astronomical Clock You haven't truly seen Prague until you've stood before this 600-year-old marvel in the heart of Old Town Square. Operating since 1410, these gears do much more than just tell time—they track the positions of the sun, the moon, and the zodiac constellations. Every hour on the hour, the "Walk of the Apostles" ceremony brings the tower to life. It’s a captivating spectacle where the moving statues—representing Greed, Vanity, Death, and Lust (Earthly Pleasures)—remind us of the passage of time. Pro Tip: If you want to avoid the massive crowds and get that perfect shot, I highly recommend visiting early in the morning or capturing its beauty under the golden night lights.

An absolutely outstanding experience! The Astronomical Clock in Prague is impressive from every angle, but going to the top takes it to another level. The view is simply stunning — one of the best panoramas in the city — and the clock’s mechanism itself is fascinating to see up close. The staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and genuinely wonderful, which made the visit even more enjoyable. A special mention goes to the young woman who hosted the English guided tour (I believe her name was Petra). She was amazing — full of interesting stories, funny, engaging, and a joy to listen to. She really brought the history of the clock to life. On top of all that, the price was more than worth it. It was actually cheaper than many other attractions in Prague that offer far less, both literally and figuratively. I strongly recommend this place!

Hermoso lugar!

It’s one of the highlights of exploring the Old Town. The clock itself is stunning, with intricate details that really show the craftsmanship and history behind it. Watching the hourly show is a fun moment, especially with the lively atmosphere in the square as people gather to see the figures move. The surrounding area is full of charm, with beautiful architecture, cafes, and shops just steps away. It’s definitely worth stopping by, both for the history and the vibrant energy of the place.

Beautiful clock, definitely worth a look on the hour, just to say you've seen it. Have a look on Wikipedia for the history of it before going, and it will enhance your experience. The history behind it is fascinating, and there are cafes with outside seating to see it, but you are better off standing up as the crowds get quite big. Look for the 12 figures at the top, and the figures stood either side of the clock face. Everywhere you look, you will see something of interest. There is a tour you can take to go inside, but didn't get chance to do it.

The main attraction in Staroměstská Square. The Prague Astronomical Clock, also known as Pražský orloj, is a medieval astronomical clock located on the Old Town Hall in Prague. Installed in 1410, it is one of the oldest working astronomical clocks in the world. The clock displays the time, the position of the Sun and Moon, zodiac signs, and a calendar dial. Every hour, a small mechanical show delights visitors as the Twelve Apostles appear, making the Orloj one of Prague’s most iconic and beloved landmarks. It is worth to buy a ticket and go to the top of the tower - the view is fascinating! We also took a tour of the dungeons under the old town. The guide was very informative and we had a great time as well as a lot of new interesting information
