Extremely Disappointing Service Experience
My husband and I stayed at this hotel while travelling back from Manali. We were exhausted when we arrived and ordered very basic food — rice and chicken curry for my husband (which was completely tasteless) and chole kulcha for me (equally disappointing). Their bed and pillows were not comfortable too. I have a stiff neck due to their sinking bed and there was a foul smell in the washroom. But honestly, the food, bed, smell were the least of my concerns compared to the service. I would not have taken the time to post this review for the other issues.
What truly shocked me was the absolute lack of service mindset.
I requested a yoga mat so I could attend an early morning online class. The reception’s immediate response — without even a pause — was a blunt “Not possible.” Only after that did they say, “Please wait,” and then mentioned that if a mat was in the gym, I could take it. When I requested that someone simply check and bring it, I was told I would have to go and check myself.
After a long day of travel, this was extremely irritating. When I questioned this attitude, they said they would check and revert. No one called back for two hours. When I followed up again, they admitted they still hadn’t checked. This level of apathy towards a guest’s request was astonishing.
Finally, after another follow-up, I was told the mat was not available. I accepted that I would miss my class.
The next morning, however, my husband went to the gym — and there it was. A yoga mat, lying unused.
When I called the reception again, the explanation changed: they couldn’t give the mat to the room. So it was acceptable for the mat to remain unused in the gym, but not to support a guest who had requested it multiple times and followed up patiently.
Yes, this may seem like a small thing — but this is exactly what defines service culture. The unwillingness to take even a single step for a guest, the lack of ownership, follow-through, and empathy made this stay deeply disappointing.
I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who values basic hospitality.
