We stayed at the Ramada by Wyndham Katunayake near Colombo International Airport and were pleasantly surprised. Based on some previous reviews, we were actually a bit worried before arrival and even considered changing hotels – but in the end, our experience was very positive. We received a spacious, clean, and fresh-smelling double room. The amenities (AC, hot water, safe, fridge, kettle) worked perfectly, and complimentary water, tea, and coffee were provided. Check-in was smooth and efficient. The pool and surrounding area were clean and well maintained. We also had a late vegan lunch, and the chef kindly adapted the meal (gluten-free veggie burgers using rice flour), which we really appreciated. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating throughout our stay, despite us only booking two nights at a reasonable price. The airport transfer (private van for four suitcases, LKR 3,400) at midnight was well organized. The only downside was the “nature view” from the room, which didn’t quite match expectations. Overall, a much better experience than anticipated. 👍

We were very pleased with our choice to book the Ramada by the airport for our trip to Sri Lanka. We arrived late, so it was a relief to be met at the gate by someone from the hotel. It was a short trip (maybe 15-20 minutes) back to the hotel, and the big compound and elegant reception reassured us. We had locally-based family members meeting us for a tour we were starting the day after, one of whom was in a wheelchair. The rooms were great for those with accessibility needs. The rooms were a little dated but clean, spacious and comfortable. The only issue I had was with breakfast. It cost $8 USD per person, and it felt that almost all the bain-maries were practically empty. I would book this hotel again for future trips.

I had a wonderful experience at Ramada by Wyndham Katunayake Colombo International Airport. My flight landed at 12 AM, so I had a very late check-in, but the entire process was smooth and hassle-free. The staff were welcoming, professional, and handled everything efficiently despite the late hour. I had initially booked for one guest, and at the last minute needed to add my fiancé. They updated my booking immediately without any hesitation and only charged a small additional amount, which I really appreciated. After a long flight, this kind of service makes all the difference. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone arriving late or staying near the airport!

Worst worst worst experience ever. The hospitality team is pathetic. They are just least bothered. The staffs didn’t even help us carry our luggage to our rooms. We had to carry them ourselves. And on complaining, they gave a thumbs up to go ahead a write a review, how casual, arrogant and unprofessional! The restaurant is just so unhygienic and smelly. Still, since we didn’t have options, we ordered food from their smelly restaurant, but our food never arrived. I guess, they had forgotten! Wow! Please don’t go with the positive reviews mentioned here. They are unreliable and fake. Please save yourselves from this terrible place!

We were a family of 4, and were given a 'triple' room, which only has two actual beds, plus a makeshift hard and uneven platform to serve as the third bed. Complained to reception and they said there is nothing they can do about it. Barely slept that night. At the very least should have given a proper third mattress. The third bed was totally unacceptable for any hotel. The bathroom was in a shabby condition with aging fixtures. The only thing that was good was a decent breakfast, and the free airport shuttle.

23rd March 2026 Noon. The air conditioning in the lobby was not operational. My room was not prepared upon my arrival, necessitating a 30-minute wait in the heat. Furthermore, the hallway leading to the rooms had a peculiar and unpleasant odor. Lunch was scheduled for 1:30 PM, and according to the receptionist, I proceeded to the dining area around 1:35 PM. However, the waiter informed me that it was not yet ready, requiring me to return to my room. Due to significant fatigue from a lengthy flight, I unfortunately missed lunch entirely. I have previously stayed at the Full Moon Hotel in Sri Lanka, which was a very pleasant experience. I sincerely hope that I will not be assigned to the Ramada Hotel again during future transits from Sri Lanka.

Checked in late night and everything was great. Receptionist was well attentive and checkin was smooth as we were tired from late flight. Room was comfortable and food was breakfast was great. Restaurant staffs were really friendly with us and took care of us. Overall great hotel.

最低です。 絶対辞めた方がいい。 テレビは映らずエアコンも壊れていて何回もフロントに言いに行ったけど直すって言われたのに最後まで来ず。 6時半からの朝食は7時になっても準備されず食べられなかった。 返金して欲しい。

We are so disappointed with our stay at this hotel. We booked a Deluxe room. The hotel is very poorly maintained!! Carpet is dirty and smells. Lack basic amenities. Broken shower!! The only good thing is that the Hotel staff are good and responds Wyndham is a chain and a decent hotel for short stay, but this definitely not what we expected!! So unhappy and disappointed.

I visited Ramada Katunayake with my family for dinner on the 31st night, expecting a pleasant experience. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a very disappointing one. When we arrived, there was no proper food available. There was no menu provided, and the options were extremely limited — basically only rice and potatoes. For the amount of money we paid, this was completely unacceptable. It felt like a total waste of money. The service was very poor, and there was no concern shown for the guests. At the very least, customers should be treated with kindness and provided with a proper meal, which was clearly lacking here. This experience left a very negative impression about the food and service. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone, and I sincerely hope they take responsibility to ensure that no one else has to go through such an unpleasant experience.

This is a typical Wyndham-esq property that needs a desperate re-vamp. Moderately clean and within a 10 min drive from the airport. Sometimes there are weird smells in the hallways, minor stains on sheets and stains on the carpet, but we expected more or less. Stayed here total of two nights, on arrival and departure. Staff is very nice and helps you with your luggage. Had a difficult time contacting them initially through email to inquire about airport transport pickup and drop-off. I had to email about three times to get a response; if you are having trouble they have multiple email addresses - I would recommend contacting all of them at once so someone will respond. Pickup experience was excellent despite the late/early morning arrival time, I was greeted with a sign when I walked out and it was offered to me complimentary. I was charged for drop-off about 4500lkr which I didn’t mind. Drop off was also very prompt. Highly appreciate the hotel for offering this service, which was one of the reasons I chose the property. Note I booked with Wyndham points and made the mistake of not noting that I had two people on the reservation at arrival. I was charged ~$13 USD to add the second person on the reservation- although given I booked with points I did not expect this as there is no point difference on redemption between booking for one person vs. two. First time I had this happen to me. Just be sure to update reservation for the correct number of people before arrival.

Service was efficient and room size & inclusions were exceptional. Very well-mannered staff members! Food served in dinning room was of good standards and quality. Overall a great experience! Will surely visit next time.

Have to knock some stars due to both the pool and gym not being available. Place is clean though looking tired and probably due for a refurb. Only 15 mind drive from the airport. One positive aspect was I got bored as there's not much to do around the location, so I found a path for a stroll along the river (it was muddy but worth it for a good stroll and something to do)!!

This a transit hotel.is best with friendly.staff. basically sri lanka is with friendly staff.with all over the island snd one.if the best gem.is found in ramada. Which is closer.to the airport. Very convenient to.travel cause very close by. Snd best foods have tasted here from my entire.life.

We had a four-day training program at Ramada Hotel and the experience was excellent. The venue was comfortable, the service was great, and the food was truly outstanding. Special thanks to Sahan for his professional and friendly support throughout the event. Also, my appreciation to the management team for their smooth coordination and warm hospitality. Highly recommended for training programs and corporate events!

Ехать до отеля из аэропорта на такси 20 минут. Персонал приветливый. Номер у менял был просторный, кондиционер работает (горячая вода, фен, тапки и тд в номере есть). Завтрак с 7 утра (чай - кофе - соки, фрукты, выпечка, овощи, яйца, рис, мясо и тд), голодным остаться нельзя. На территории есть бассейн. В гостинице тихо (или мне так выпало). Читала ранее, что вокруг нельзя купить никакой еды (вышла и пошла вдоль дороги направо; по итогу: еда есть, палатки с водой - печеньем тоже стоят, фрукты продаются).

I’m not entirely sure whether to give this place 3 or 4 stars, as I can’t really compare it with other hotels in Colombo. I stayed here as part of an airline-arranged transit stay due to a delayed flight. Overall, the hotel feels a bit below the usual Ramada standard — quite run down and in need of some renovation. The staff were polite and helpful, which I really appreciated, but the restaurant food wasn’t great and had very limited options. Perhaps the location or price makes it a practical choice for transit passengers, but in terms of quality and upkeep, this property could definitely use some improvement.

Came to this hotel from Vietnam. 8 of us. Travelled in late night and reception staff really helped us for the rooms. All our róoms we're very còmfortable and food was also great.

Мы летели из Коломбо в Шарджу и в воздухе самолет развернули обратно, я был рад снова оказаться на Шри-Ланке (спустя 3 часа после вылета) и особенно в этом замечательном отеле! Спасибо большое за качество проживания и отдельное спасибо персоналу!!
