Interviewed for a Senior Cloud Engineer role recently. The first round with the technical panel went well — discussed virtualization, server management, infrastructure exposure, and overall experience in detail. The conversation was professional and relevant to the role. For the second round, I was asked to visit the Gurgaon office physically despite requesting a virtual interview due to extreme weather conditions. After making the trip, the discussion surprisingly focused only on career background and previous company types rather than technical skills or role-based scenarios. No technical assessment was conducted in the final round. Unfortunately, the application was rejected shortly after with a generic response. Constructive feedback: Candidates invest significant time, money, and effort into interview processes. If the concern is around profile fit or background alignment, it’s better to clarify that early rather than conducting unnecessary in-person rounds. A more transparent and technically structured hiring process would create a far better candidate experience.
