My eight-year-old had such a great time! Even though he didn’t quite get everything, the experience was truly special. We were lucky enough to visit during a workshop about seeds and plants, and he even got to plant a tomato seed. The staff were so friendly and helpful, from the parking staff to everyone else. It’s truly a monument for Bangalore.

It’s a really unique, hands-on experience—definitely more about doing things than just watching. I found out they change the theme every July, so it’s actually worth visiting every year. Plus, there's free parking and no entry fee!

Recently visited this science gallery and absolutely loved the place. It was different and unique experience compared to other gallery visits. The theme was related to agriculture, food culture and its history. The guide explained each section very descriptively and passionately so that we could understand it properly. Got some insights about the caste based discrimination that too still exist and the effects of plastics in aquatics. The place is super spacious and clean. No entry fees. Themes will change every year. I really liked the books corner and games area.

Pros: 1) Super Clean, Spacious, super friendly people, zero entry fees 2) host multiple topics of exhibition 3) Display of Research papers along with exhibits 4) Take your time to see, read, and experience every exhibits 5) Ample car parking space 6) Not suitable for Kids (they will find super boring). Cons: 1) The presenters are Gen Z guys and girls with non conventional looks obviously there for making extra bucks. They are good but their knowledge about exhibits are limited. Looks slightly immature. 2) I found one stray dogs entering the exhibition.

Nothing to offer about Science or experiments. The theme was Calorie, but the theme as you enter became Farmer is a wrestler. There were good things on how much water is required to grow a particular crop, nutritional values, Glycemic Index funds etc, how has global warming affected aquatic life around Mumbai, varieties of rice that existed earlier and what we grow today based on speed at which they grow, and GM crops and how bad they are. Some very good demonstration and visibility crated by students of NID about how nations have progressed due on Poverty, Obesity and stunting, quality of blood - % of people who are malnourished/Anaemic in different countries, How has food grain accessibility in different countries are really presented well for common people’s understanding. some of the studies included 1. studies on calorie intake of people in different countries, how does that help?? 2. Calories intake of women less than men!! This is more based on scientific social survey but not science 3. Caste based biases.. and cooking by Dalits - why don’t you call them underprivileged instead of calling out castes as if there are no under privileged among Upper castes, Muslims and Minorities. 4. What has a day in Mapusa market to do with Science?? This place is about setting narratives by including caste while trying to show you are improving scientific temper of the youth. Why this place has a corner showing History of Communist party across the world, world war and protests by farmers on farm laws. The Young Genz kids who are employed here in part time while studying were dressed differently - no dress code, you can’t identify if they are here to help you understand the exhibits, no doubt the people who helped me were hands on, but help them with dress code and discipline, respect the place and not loitering around make noice more than the visitors. There should be no entry to Kids under the age of 6y as they were there only to man handle the exhibits and parents don’t respect other visitors. This is not a picnic spot please. Nut shell I feel the place should be used to help people improve scientific temper and not become a place to set political narrative and divide society by speaking about caste.. atleast not the place for it..

We visited the gallery a week back and was delighted to see a brand new exhibition up and running - Calorie. It's an exploration on food, sourcing, market economics, technology, global issues like soil quality, loss of arable land, seeds and their quality and a lot more. Easy to spend good 2hours there. And it's all free. Take your time to go through all the exhibitions and ask the volunteers and staff there for all the information you need.

What an absolutely amazing place. My mind was absolutely blown when I visited today. The current exhibit Calorie is so well put together and every single piece is so educating and interactive. Most galleries feel pretentious to me, but this was so different and so good. Every single piece is interactive and is something that you can look at, play with and understand. The guides are very helpful and tell you all about each work and how to best experience it. There are 2 floors to the museum and visiting all the works should take about 2 hours if you go through in detail. Don’t miss the Mumbai Duck exhibit, it’s a unique sensory experience. And make sure to checkout “Alternate Food Futures”, it’s by my friends Sahitya, and you’ll love it! Overall the gallery is immaculately maintained and didn’t feel like a public FREE gallery at all. I loved that there is no entry fee, and ample free parking in the basement for cars and bikes. There is also a cafe on premises. I would highly recommend everyone to visit this gallery once, and no matter where in Bangalore you live, it’s worth visiting. Kids will love this place as well as there are so many things to touch, feel and play with. Calorie started Aug 2025 and will be here for 1 year.

gallery is nice, with good explanations provided, and the volunteers are very helpful. However, it’s best to visit when an exhibition is taking place(check their website or instagram page), otherwise it can feel a little empty. I went in July when there was no exhibition, and the experience wasn’t as engaging. Few boards are also in kannada which good for native speakers. Any age group can enjoy the gallery.

One of the must visit destinations in Bangalore especially for young crowds. Excellent quality exhibitions from international artists which are nicely maintained and managed. The staff are young and explain each exhibit in nice detail and walk you through the interactive nature of the exhibits. Our guide Megha did an excellent job at explaining things and truly made our visit memorable. Will definitely visit when a new theme emerges next year.

This place is @hebbal, rt nagar,.ring road, opposite to bapatist hospital. This place has newly opened from June 2025, it has a theme called CALORIE, related to the ultimate energy source that is food, right from growing crops, harvesting, marketing, cooking and wastage. How food has changed from herbs to fish, meat and insects. There are two floors with 3 exhibition hall each showing these aspects. My daughter liked the exhibition hall with artificial fish bone hangings which was interesting.Huge space is utilised but very less interesting facts. It is totally free , no tickets, basement parking is available. Outside small food counter is available. It is run by government. Good to visit for curiosity.

Amazing gallery where Science meets Art. They have currently an active exhibition on the theme Calorie, but it covers so much more and deeper themes related to caste, food, economy and sustainability in urban and rural India. The current exhibition will be on till August 2026 for the whole year. Must visit with your friends or if you're a student want to do research on thought provoking themes. They have a small cafe where you can get homemamde Dosa and Idly. Ample parking is available for cars and bike in the basement.

Bangalore's new Science Gallery is a fabulous exhibition space. Visited it for the first time and am seriously impressed. Their ongoing exhibition is called 'Calorie', focusing on the science of food, nutrition, and agriculture. What is especially striking is the deeply humanistic, anthropological and historical lens via which their exhibits have been curated. It's the very anti-thesis of the idea of 'apolitical' science; this is a throughly socially-aware examination of food and the ways in which it mediates the relations between humans and our natural environment. It's just so incredibly refreshing to see something like this in the Indian context. We need so much more of it...

Explaining science through art is the focus at science and art museum. Every quarter the theme changes and the current theme is carbon. Carbon emissions and effect it has on the planet. The tree sensor and mangrove depiction was particularly interesting. There are guided tours and there is no entry fees. Must visit for anybody with a curious mind. They could make it more experience centric.

A new addition to our city, this is more like an art gallery built around the idea of carbon. It's a very nice place to get new experiences where you interact with the installations with your mind and it feels different. Its also a good place to introduce children to science, however they might find it boring. Ample parking space, also cultural activities are conducted here.

Though entry is free for now, you may want to check out the various events organised for which you are required to register. The place is new and well-maintained. There are mediators who help and explain every part of the place (unless you go there during their lunch time). So it's good if you avoid going between 12 and 2pm. If you're a science geek, you will love the place. My 7 year old son found it quite interesting. The mediators are well-informed and explain how CARBON is related to everything in and around us. Even for someone like me, it was quite interesting to learn a few things. The best thing was touching silkworms!
