Complaint Against Senco Gold & Diamonds – Phoenix Mall, Indore (Madhya Pradesh)
I am writing to complain about the highly disappointing and stressful experience I faced at Senco Gold & Diamonds, Phoenix Mall, Indore, due to misleading commitments, incorrect invoicing, and unprofessional conduct by store staff.
In January 2026, I visited the store to purchase a specific gold design that was not available at that time. The sales executive Nitin, under the guidance of staff Shambu and Store Manager Kamlesh, assured me that the design would be arranged within 30 days. I was clearly and repeatedly assured that by paying an advance amount, the gold price would be frozen at the rate prevailing on the booking date.
Trusting a reputed brand like Senco, I paid the advance amount.
However, the store failed to provide a correct invoice for the product I had ordered. Instead of an invoice for bangles, I was issued an invoice for a ring. When I raised this concern, I was told it was a “system default” and was assured that the final product would be correct. Based on these assurances, I continued with the booking.
After 30 days, when I returned to collect my order, I was shocked to be informed that the gold price had not been frozen and that I would need to pay the current market rate, resulting in an additional payment of ₹5,000–₹7,000 due to an increase in gold prices. This was completely against what was promised at the time of booking.
Additionally, I was informed that my product was ready on 2 February 2026, a day when gold prices had gone down. Despite receiving confirmation that the product was ready, sales executive Nitin stated he was not available and that the product needed to be checked, delaying the delivery. Later, when the gold price increased again, I was asked to pay the higher rate. This clearly appears to be a deliberate and unfair practice.
When I objected, sales executive Nitin asked whether I had any audio or video recording of the promise made earlier. It is unreasonable and unacceptable to expect customers to record conversations in a reputed jewellery showroom.
I escalated the matter to Store Manager Kamlesh, who admitted that his staff had failed to explain the terms properly but stated that nothing could be done. Despite acknowledging the mistake, no resolution, compensation, or corrective action was offered. To make matters worse, I was again provided with incorrect calculation invoices.
This experience reflects a serious lack of professionalism, transparency, and customer ethics. Customers are misled with verbal assurances about gold price freezing and later forced to pay additional amounts, causing financial loss and mental harassment.
I strongly caution customers against purchasing from Senco Gold & Diamonds, Phoenix Mall, Indore, as misleading sales practices by staff members Nitin and Shambu, combined with ineffective management, can result in significant inconvenience and monetary loss.
I request immediate intervention from senior management and appropriate action to resolve this issue.
