The Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute is a gorgeous masterpiece that anchors the entrance to the Grand Canal in Venice. If you are looking for an afternoon of peace and serenity away from the heavier tourist crowds, this is definitely the place to check out. The octagonal architecture is stunning, and the interior offers a cool, quiet space for reflection. It is incredibly accessible via Venice’s Vaporetto (water bus) system; simply alight at the Salute station, which is located right outside the basilica’s steps for a seamless arrival.

Imposanter Blickfang, ohne protzig zu wirken, perfekte Proportionen, fantastische Architektur nach Entwurf des jungen Longhena. Aufgrund des immensen Aufwands und der Kosten betrug die Bauzeit (1630-1687) mehr als 50 Jahre, die Vollendung dieses zu den Hauptwerken der venezianischen Barockarchitektur zählenden Kirche erfolgte 5 Jahre nach Longhenas Tod. Anlass der Stiftung war das Ende der verheerenden Pest 1630. Städtebaulich bemerkenswert sind die Blickachsen San Marco - S.Giorgio - Redentore - SM della Salute, die eine einzigartiges Stadtlandschaft bilden. Das Innere der Kirche, deren Raumstruktur Longhena selbst "neue Erfindung" nannte, beherbergt u.a. Werke Tizians und eine kostbare Ikone aus Kreta (Hochaltar). Für alle, die kunsthistorisch weniger interessiert sind, ist die "Salute" jedenfalls ein wundervoller und höchst fotogener Anblick, sowohl vom Meer aus als auch von anderen Plätzen Venedigs, besonders schön von der Accademia-Brücke, besonders in der Dämmerung oder bei Nacht.

La Basílica de Santa Maria della Salute es uno de esos lugares que te dejan sin palabras. Además de ser preciosa arquitectónicamente y estar ubicada justo a pie del agua, tiene una historia muy especial: fue construida como agradecimiento por el fin de la peste que sufrió Venecia en el siglo XVII, y se siente esa mezcla de fe, historia y belleza en cada rincón. Tuve la suerte de visitarla también porque Santa María es mi patrona, así que para mí fue una experiencia todavía más especial. El cura que me atendió fue muy amable y cercano, igual que las personas que trabajan allí. Vale muchísimo la pena entrar, sentarse un momento y disfrutar de la tranquilidad y de las vistas increíbles alrededor. Pero es que Venecia tiene eso: cada rincón parece único.

I visited many churches and museums during my trip—even the Vatican Museums—and I can say with absolute certainty that this is the only place that truly felt peaceful and holy. Maybe it’s because it attracts fewer tourists, or maybe it’s because the people who come here actually arrive with hope. Santa Maria della Salute is a healer saint, and you can feel that energy the moment you step inside. If you have someone who needs healing, this is the place to come and lay your faith within these walls.

Santa Maria della Salute is truly one of the must see landmarks in Venice. The interior feels very spacious and peaceful, and the architecture is elegant and impressive, with its beautiful octagonal design and magnificent dome. Located at the entrance of the Grand Canal, it offers a stunning view both from outside and inside. We were also lucky to come across a small recital during our visit, which made the experience even more special. A wonderful place that perfectly reflects the spirit of Venice.

Santa Maria della Salute ist eine der beeindruckendsten Kirchen in Venedig. Schon von außen ist die Kuppel ein echtes Wahrzeichen, das das Stadtbild am Eingang des Canal Grande prägt. Besonders vom Wasser aus wirkt die Kirche majestätisch und einzigartig. Im Inneren beeindruckt die helle, weite Architektur mit ihrer besonderen Ruhe. Die klare Struktur und das einfallende Licht schaffen eine ganz eigene Atmosphäre, die sich deutlich von anderen venezianischen Kirchen unterscheidet. Man spürt die Geschichte und die Bedeutung dieses Bauwerks für die Stadt. Ein wunderbarer Ort, um kurz innezuhalten und die Schönheit Venedigs auf sich wirken zu lassen. Für uns definitiv fünf Sterne.

Es una hermosa e inmensa basílica, situada en un lugar impresionante. Recomiendo llegar hasta ella utilizando el traghetto. Sale a las 9:00 y a las 17:00 hs desde inmediaciones de la plaza San Marcos. La navegación, es breve, cuesta 2€. Da el tiempo justo para hacer una visita breve a la basílica. Luego el retorno puede realizarse a pie, recorriendo el Dorsoduro, también recomendable!

바포레토를 타고 대운하를 건너면, 산 마르코 광장에서 늘 바라보던 그 하얀 돔의 성당 산타 마리아 델라 살루테 성당(Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute) 에 닿는다. 엽서나 사진 속에서 베네치아를 상징하는 풍경으로 많이 등장하는 바로 그 성당이다. 물 위에 떠 있는 듯한 실루엣 덕분에, 멀리서 볼 때와 직접 앞에 섰을 때의 인상이 확연히 다르다. 이곳은 17세기 흑사병 종식을 기념해 지어진 성당으로, 이름에 들어간 Salute가 ‘건강, 구원’을 의미한다. 바다를 바로 앞에 두고 있어 입구에 서면 짠 바다 냄새와 종소리가 동시에 느껴진다. 흰 대리석 외벽과 둥근 돔이 햇살을 받아 반짝이고, 바닥의 흑백 대리석 패턴이 공간 전체를 단정하면서도 묵직하게 정리해 준다. 성당 내부는 생각보다 화려한 금빛 장식은 적고, 대신 고요함과 울림 있는 분위기가 중심이다. 방문 당시 한쪽에서는 실제 미사가 진행 중이었고, 촛불과 성가대의 목소리가 공간을 채우고 있었다. 관광객들도 모두 발걸음을 멈추고 조용히 그 장면을 지켜보는 분위기라, 관광지가 아니라 진짜 ‘신앙의 장소’에 들어온 느낌이 강하게 온다. 과장된 장식 대신, 빛과 소리로 완성되는 공간이라 인상이 오래 남는다. 성당 안쪽에는 유료 미술 전시 공간도 있다. 입장료는 부담 없는 수준이고 규모도 크지 않지만, 그래서 오히려 작품 하나하나에 더 집중할 수 있다. 틴토레토(Tintoretto), 티치아노(Tiziano) 같은 베네치아 화가들의 작품이 차분한 색감으로 전시돼 있어, 성당 자체의 분위기와 자연스럽게 어우러진다. 관광지식 “대형 미술관 관람”이라기보다는, 성당 안에서 잠시 멈춰서 작품을 곱씹어 보는 느낌에 가깝다. 정리하면, 산타 마리아 델라 살루테 성당은 대운하 건너편에서 베네치아를 상징하는 실루엣을 이루는 랜드마크 흑사병 종식이라는 역사와 ‘구원’의 의미를 담은 기도와 치유의 공간 미사, 빛, 미술이 함께 만드는 조용한 베네치아의 얼굴 을 한 번에 느낄 수 있는 장소다. 산 마르코 쪽에서 바라보기만 했다면, 하루쯤은 바포레토를 타고 직접 건너가 내부까지 천천히 둘러볼 만한 베네치아 필수 성당 코스로 추천한다.

Girişi ücretsiz. Konumuyla ve mimarisiyle oldukça ihtişamlı bir kilise. Venedik’te mutlaka ziyaret etmeniz gereken bir kilise. Barok tarzda önemli bir bazilikadır. Yapımı 1631–1687 arasında sürmüş ve mimarı Baldassare Longhena’dır. 1630’daki ağır veba salgınından kurtuluş şükranı olarak Venedik Senatosu’nun kararıyla Sağlık Meryemi’ne adanmış bir ibadet yeri olarak yapıldı. Bu yüzden adı “Salute” (sağlık) olarak anılır.

C'erano in atto preparativi per la festa della Basilica dei giorni successivi, quindi la visita è stata "disturbata" dalle decine di operai presenti all'interno, intenti ad allestire altare e colonne di drappi di velluto rosso e a lucidare gli ottoni dei candelabri. Non è stato possibile nemmeno visitare la Sacrestia dove sono presenti dipinti di pregio proprio per i lavori in corso. Ingresso gratuito. Possibile anche la visita alla Sacrestia e alla Cupola a pagamento.

Striking from the outside, but more restrained within. This grand Baroque basilica stands at the entrance to the Grand Canal, directly opposite St Mark’s Square, and its dome is one of Venice’s most recognisable skyline features. Entry is free, though there isn’t a huge amount to see inside compared to some of Venice’s more ornate churches. The real highlight is arguably the setting step outside for lovely views back across the Grand Canal and toward St Mark’s.

Nous avons commencé notre visite de Venise par ici, c’est très joli ! Vous avez un beau point de vue extérieur. L’intérieur est très beau, très bien décoré. En plus, nous avons eu droit à un concert d’orgue lors de notre venue ! Entrée gratuite. Pensez bien à couvrir épaules et genoux.

ドゥカーレ宮殿やこのヴァポレット乗り場から、ヴァポレット1駅でいけます。(ヴァポレット乗り場は番号によって異なります。番号が何番が事前にGoogleマップで調べると便利です。) 当日あそこに行ってみたい！！！と、 思い立って行ってみました。チケットは購入せず無料でした。 こちらの聖堂は他の聖堂と比較して可愛らしい印象を受けました。色使いも暖かく、個人的にはすごく好きな聖堂です。

De Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute is een echte blikvanger in Venetië. We zijn niet binnen geweest, maar alleen al vanop afstand is ze indrukwekkend. De ligging aan het water, de prachtige koepel en de details in de gevel zorgen ervoor dat je spontaan stopt om foto’s te maken. Terwijl we langs het kanaal wandelden, viel het licht net goed op de basiliek , perfect moment voor een paar mooie beelden. Zelfs zonder binnen te gaan is dit een plek die je meeneemt in de bijzondere sfeer van Venetië. ⸻ The Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute is one of the most striking sights in Venice. We didn’t go inside, but even from a distance it’s incredibly impressive. The location right by the water, the grand dome, and all the architectural details make it a perfect photo spot. As we walked along the canal, the light hit the basilica beautifully, the kind of moment where you just have to take pictures. Even without going inside, this place captures the magic of Venice.

La basilique Santa Maria della Salute, majestueusement située à l’entrée du Grand Canal à Venise, est un chef-d’œuvre du baroque vénitien, construite au XVIIᵉ siècle par l’architecte Baldassare Longhena en remerciement à la Vierge pour la fin de la grande peste de 1630 ; reconnaissable à sa vaste coupole blanche et à son plan octogonal symbolique, elle offre un intérieur lumineux et solennel abritant des œuvres majeures du Titien et de Tintoret, et reste aujourd’hui encore un lieu central de la vie religieuse vénitienne, notamment lors de la fête de la Salute en novembre, quand un pont provisoire est dressé pour permettre aux fidèles de s’y rendre en procession.

A Bazilika helyét urbanisztikai szempontok jelölték ki, az épület a Canal Grande torkolatát uralja.
