The best Italian we have had so far! From the moment we walked in, everything felt just right — warm ambiance, inviting aromas, and a welcoming atmosphere that immediately set the tone for a memorable dining experience. Every single dish we ordered was absolutely perfect. The pizzas were outstanding — beautifully baked with a crisp yet airy crust, topped with fresh, high-quality ingredients that blended together flawlessly. Each bite was bursting with authentic flavors, just the way true Italian cuisine should be. The balance of sauce, cheese, and toppings was spot on, making it impossible to pick a favorite. The pastas were equally impressive. Cooked to perfection, each dish had the ideal texture and was coated in rich, flavorful sauces that tasted freshly prepared and full of depth. You could truly appreciate the attention to detail and passion behind every plate. The ingredients were fresh, the seasoning was perfectly balanced, and the presentation was elegant yet comforting. What made the experience even better was the overall consistency — from taste and quality to service and presentation, everything exceeded expectations. It’s rare to find a place where every item on the table feels like a highlight, but this was definitely one of those special spots. If you’re looking for authentic Italian food that delivers on flavor, quality, and experience, this place is an absolute must-visit. We will definitely be coming back again and again!

A great choice for anyone who enjoys exploring flavours beyond the usual Indian taste profile. The dishes have that authentic Italian depth — subtle, refined, and very different from what you’d get at regular places. It is on the pricier side (expected from a five-star setting), but the overall experience makes it feel worth it. The ambience is absolutely stunning — elegant, warm, and extremely photogenic. The food itself was unique, beautifully presented, and genuinely delicious. A lovely spot if you want something special, different, and memorable.

It's a great addition to Kolkata's restaurant scene. An Italian inspired menu, some great cocktails and a nicely done up decor. We had gone for lunch so it was relatively easy to get a table, i have heard it gets crowded in the evening/night.

We were looking for authentic Italian cuisine for our special day and we found this gem (Apparently not 'hidden'). As far as the atmosphere is concerned , the place has a very cozy dreamy vibe thanks to the interior and excellent light design which takes you to another world away from the chaos of kolkata just outside. Coming to the food, We ordered 4 dishes 1. Classic margherita pizza - Its Neopolitan styled pizza here. On top of that they said its made with 150 year old sourdough starter from Italy and no commercial yeast used. The pizza shows classic neopolitan style , very thin base with airy and fluffy edges, leopard spot, crunch outside and chewy inside and excellent proportion of mozzarella cheese and tomato sauce with fresh basil. Its in top two in kolkata alongside fabbrica we tasted 2. Classic Caesar salad- Excellent representation, with perforated designed potato crisp, parmesan cheese, olive oil, garlic with romaine and iceberg lettuce. We found a bit over in salt but overall excellent 3. Spinach Ricotta Rosette - We expected small dumplings but got one huge one (Green colored in the pics). Spinach and ricotta cheese stuffing is awesome and the sauce it was served in was heavenly 4. We asked for deconstructed Tiramisu but that's not available now. They have introduced 'Heart of Espresso' Tiramisu which was in ball shape with chocolate crisp on side and espresso poured over it tableside . Excellent balance of mild sweetness of tiramisu and mild bitterness of espresso. Exquisite.

An exceptional dining experience. A perfect gem for a date. The inner decor, the ambience, the vibe totally takes you out from the busy streets for a while. We ordered the Chicken garlic skewers- soft tender skewers marinated in garlic with lettuce on the side. Perfectly blended with the spices. Next the Country Chicken Cappellacci-stuffed pasta drowned in parmesan broth. A dish with such rich flavours yet subtle. To complement took the Blush Bloom mocktail- refreshing with its fruity flavour profile. To conclude, we had the The Chocolate Play- with a lot of things going on the plate- sorbet, caprese cubes, mousse, smoked aerated chocolate. A bit costly but was worth the total experience. Definitely gonna comeback someday later.

Cheese Platter Served with a Cockroach We were seated almost immediately and greeted politely by the staff, but unfortunately at a table that was visibly unclean. To make matters worse, the cloth napkins placed on the table were foul-smelling and clearly unhygienic. When we requested replacements, they were changed—only to be replaced with another equally dirty set. That should have been our signal to leave, but instead we asked for paper napkins, which were provided promptly. We then ordered our drinks—Blush Bloom and A Little Tropical—along with two cheese and cold cut platters. While taking the order, a staff member stepped on my foot and did not bother to apologise. We chose to overlook it, assuming it was accidental. The food arrived and initially seemed acceptable. Little did we know that what we were consuming could potentially result in future medical concerns. After finishing that course, we even decided to order dessert. However, as the staff hurriedly began clearing the table, we noticed something utterly disturbing—a dead cockroach crushed onto the very platter from which we had been eating.

Vibrant atmosphere with authentic and flavorful Italian fare. All the dishes we tried tasted awesome. The servers are very helpful, knowledgeable and ready to offer suggestions and customisation. The spread offered is extensive, and is a perfect mix of traditional and experimental dishes. I would love to visit again!

Beautiful ambience. Very thoughtful staff. Excellent food. Perfect for a date. A bit on the expensive side, but worth it for the quality, taste and portions. Personally, a huge fan of the cheese platter and the pesto burrata pizza. For the drink, we got the limon which a delicious as well.

Ambiance- A total 10/10, it’s perfect for date or to spend quality time. Very calm & cozy environment Food- I didn’t like that food much. The taste was very bland. Tried their pizza, a starter, and drinks. Too much costly but not that good. But one thing I liked is the dessert. Very unique desserts are available. Overall a 5/10

The best truffle pizza in town! The goat cheese + avo bruschetta for people who like slightly flavoured food. And of course the tiramisu and chocolate noir make for the perfect dessert! 🥰😋❤️

pricing is slightly in the higher side. food portions are quite small. drinks were extremely expensive & didn’t see any non alc options. taste wise everything was amazing. ambience was good too.

The ambiance and service were excellent. Relaxing background music created a nice atmosphere, and it was easy to have a proper conversation. The quality of the food was outstanding. I ordered the lamb, which was very tender and tasted great. For me, there was too much vegetables on the plate, and the presentation of the dish could have been better. Otherwise, it was a great experience. I will definitely come back.

As per price quantity is too less, not even enough for one person. Food quality and taste both was below average. Their service is also very bad. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

I recently visited Sorano and absolutely loved the experience. Whether you're going with friends, family, or on a casual date, the vibe is just right. The highlight of my visit was definitely the Neapolitan-style pizza. It was, without a doubt, one of the best I’ve had in Kolkata. The crust was soft with just the right amount of char, the toppings were fresh and full of flavor, and you could really taste the quality of the ingredients. Every bite felt authentic and satisfying—clearly made with a lot of care and attention to detail. The service was another plus. The staff was warm, welcoming, and attentive throughout the meal without being overbearing. They were happy to answer questions, make recommendations, and ensured we had a smooth dining experience. Overall, Sorano truly impressed me with its blend of great food, beautiful ambiance, and excellent service. It’s a place I’d love to visit again and would happily recommend to anyone looking for a memorable Italian dining experience in Kolkata.

Sorano as the name suggests is an Italian themed restaurant and lives up to the name as far as the menu is concerned. The place offers a good variety of Italian dishes, cocktails and alcohols. We first tried their wild mushroom truffle pizza and had high hopes since truffles can never go wrong. But our hopes came crash landing as the pizza was not seasoned properly. The base was nice and soft but the cheese was not good. We then ordered their Pesto Tagliatelle pasta which came after an eternity and were instantly disappointed with the portion size considering the price we were paying for. The pasta was good, a little more cooked than Al Dente but the pesto sauce was nice and fresh. The chicken risotto was their redemption and thankfully it was not overdone. It was a simple humble unassuming risotto with perfectly cooked arborio rice and the sauce was silky smooth and flavourful. It was seasoned well. Once again the portion size didn't do justice to the hefty price. The cocktails were nice We felt the service was okayish and waiting time can be improved a lot. Coming to the price, this place is expensive and the portion sizes will disappoint you for sure. Definitely can be worked upon The good thing is that this place tries to remain authentic to the original Italian recipes and the ingredients used are definitely fresh and authentic.

I personally loved their pasta alot. Definitely worth trying. We tried Spaghetti Chilli Garlic Pangrattato with Chicken as add ons which was delectable. Best in Town for sure. We were so happy that we decided to try pasta again so we ordered Cappelletti di pollo which is basically pasta stuffed with confit chicken, cream cheese with porcini and red wine sauce and permesan shavings. That was also quite impressive. But their Pizza is not at all recommended. We tried Smoked Chicken Pizza which was not at all cheesy, neither smoky flavour was present. Edges were burned. There is a mild difference between Smoky & Burnt Flavour which others will also agree. But this Pizza was so blunt that it tasted bitter & horrible; kindly improve. We also tried Death by Chocolate Sundae which made us fool. I mean Death by Chocolate is a different concept where simple Chocolate Ice-Cream Scoop with Chocolate Syrup is not acceptable as we paid around Rs600 for that Sundae. Again not recommended at all. So basically here you can visit for vibes, pastas, drinks and Ambience. We tried Mind of A Coconut & Truffle Agrodolo from drinks which were good. So if you are visiting them choose your dishes accordingly

Tried there Mediterranean grilled chicken it was one of the best mains i had , pizza was average and they don’t have many options in coffee , pasta was really bad not good at all . Overall the place is best for family dine in

Absolutely loved my visit to Sorano Restaurant, Kolkata! The ambiance is warm, cozy, and beautifully designed with elegant lighting and thoughtful decor-it instantly transports you to a Mediterranean setting. We tried the lasagna and pizza, both of which were delicious and perfectly made. The pizza had a crisp crust with fresh toppings, and the lasagna was rich, cheesy, and flavorful. We ended the meal with their choco mud dessert, and it was the perfect sweet finish-decadent and satisfying. Great service, lovely vibe, and wonderful food. Highly recommend this spot for a perfect dinner outing!

To end the meal on a sweet note, I opted for the Chocolate Raspberry Tart, and it was divine.
