This temple is well known for Rahu–Kethu Pooja. Morning darshan is smooth and takes very little time if you reach early. We started from Tirumala by the first bus at 3:00 AM to Tirupati (₹90 per person) and then boarded a non-stop Kalahasti bus at 4:30 AM (₹65 per person). We reached Srikalahasti by 5:30 AM, and there was almost no crowd at that time. Important note for first-time visitors: Some shops outside the temple may misguide devotees. They initially ask you to keep your slippers for free, but once they know you are visiting for the first time, they insist on taking paid lockers (₹50) for mobiles and luggage and push you to buy pooja items costing around ₹200, saying mobiles and bags are not allowed inside. ⚠️👉 Please note: Inside the temple premises, there are official mobile and luggage deposit counters for Rs10, so do not get cheated by outside shops. There are multiple Rahu–Kethu Pooja options available with prices around ₹500, ₹1000, and ₹5000. Rudrabhisheka is also very famous here. Overall, it took about 1.5 hours to complete darshan. If you arrive early, quick darshan is not really required. The Khara Pongal prasadam was very tasty and satisfying. Overall, visiting early morning makes the experience peaceful and hassle-free. 🙏

Visited Srikalahasti Temple and had a truly divine experience. The temple has a powerful spiritual energy and is one of the most important Shiva temples in South India. The architecture is beautiful, especially the tall gopuram and the long stone corridors. Many devotees visit here for the Rahu-Ketu pooja, which is performed in an organized manner inside the temple premises. The process is well managed, but it can get crowded, especially on weekends and auspicious days.

One of the most powerful Shiva temples I have visited. Mobiles are not allowed inside the temple, which helps maintain a peaceful and divine atmosphere. This sacred place is also associated with the great devotee Kannappa (Bedara Kannappa), who offered his own eyes to Lord Shiva here — a true symbol of ultimate devotion. The name Srikalahasti itself represents Sri (Spider) + Kala (Snake) + Hasti (Elephant), connected to the legend of their devotion to Lord Shiva. A must-visit temple for spiritual seekers…

An unforgettable divine spiritual experience. People who are visiting TIRUPATHI BALAJI must visit this temple to experience an unmatchable divine vibe. Temple is dedicated to LORD SHIV and MAA PARVATHI. A masterpiece of Dravidian architect and grandeur of temples sanctum and spiritual vibe is unmatchable. Its feels so divine calm and peacfull after going inside, thats can't be expressed in words. In some ways it feels more divine and spiritual than Tirupathi Balaji Temple. Its a less publicized, less crowded Gem of Dharmik Spiritual experience. A must must visit place

It’s hard to express the emotions and fulfillment I felt after visiting this sacred temple. The divine atmosphere makes you feel truly blessed. There is no need to even pray, Lord Kalahasteeswara and Goddess Gnana Prasunambika Devi Maa knows everything in your heart before you speak. The moment you step inside, you feel deep peace and powerful spiritual vibrations. A truly soul-touching experience. 🌕🔱 Don’t miss the Annaprasadam. 🖤🦋

Visited Sri Kalahasthi Temple recently. If you go early in the morning, it’s easier for darshan. There are different ticket options like ₹500, ₹200, and also Free Darshan. You can get a direct bus from Tirupati and it takes around 45 minutes to reach the temple. The journey is simple and convenient. If you are planning for Rahu-Kethu pooja, there will be specific time slots, so it’s better to go early. Especially if you have an evening return train, planning early will help you finish everything peacefully. 🙏

A must-visit for anyone traveling to Tirupati. Srikalahasti is unique as one of the Pancha Bhoota Sthalams, representing the element of Air (Vayu). You can actually see the miracle of a lamp flickering in the sanctum despite there being no breeze! The history of the spider, snake, and elephant (Sri-Kala-Hasti) adds a beautiful layer to the devotion here. The atmosphere is powerful, and the Dakshina Kailasam vibe is real. Highly recommend visiting the Pathala Ganapathi (underground temple) inside the complex too! It’s located right on the banks of the Swarnamukhi River—truly a 'Kashi of the South.' Don’t miss the view from the Kannappa hill nearby! Mostly people are visited for the Rahu-Ketu Dosha Nivarana Pooja. The process is very well-organized. You can buy tickets (ranging from ₹500 to ₹5000) directly at the temple. The priests give instructions in multiple languages (Telugu, Tamil, English, and Hindi). It takes about 45 minutes for the pooja. Tips for visitors: Dress Code: Traditional wear is preferable..No mandatory dhoti is required. Timings: Temple is open from 6:00 AM. To 8:30 PM. Try to go during Rahu Kalam for the pooja as it's considered most auspicious. Eclipses: Interestingly, this is one of the few temples that remains open during solar and lunar eclipses. Kannappa Hill: A short climb for a panoramic view of the temple and the town.

The Shiva–Parvati Temple stands as a sacred symbol of divine union, harmony, and cosmic balance. Dedicated to Lord Shiva, the supreme ascetic and destroyer of evil, and Goddess Parvati, the embodiment of love, strength, and devotion, the temple radiates peace and spiritual energy. At the heart of the sanctum resides the Shiva Lingam, representing infinite consciousness and the eternal truth of the universe. Beside Lord Shiva is Goddess Parvati, revered as Shakti, the divine feminine power without which creation itself is incomplete. Together, they signify the perfect balance of renunciation and गृहस्थ जीवन (householder life). The temple architecture reflects traditional Indian craftsmanship, adorned with intricate carvings depicting scenes from Shiva–Parvati’s divine marriage, their celestial family with Lord Ganesha and Lord Kartikeya, and various episodes from sacred scriptures. The rhythmic sound of bells, the fragrance of incense, and the chanting of “Om Namah Shivaya” create a deeply meditative atmosphere. Devotees visit the Shiva–Parvati Temple seeking blessings for marital harmony, family well-being, inner strength, and spiritual growth. Special significance is observed during Mahashivratri, Shravan Maas, and Teej, when the temple becomes a center of devotion, fasting, and prayer. The Shiva–Parvati Temple is not just a place of worship—it is a spiritual sanctuary that reminds humanity of unity, devotion, and the eternal bond between consciousness and energy.

Srikalahasti Temple is truly a divine and unforgettable spiritual destination. Located in the serene town of Srikalahasti, this ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva (as Vayu Lingam) is known for its powerful spiritual vibrations and sacred significance, especially for Rahu–Ketu pooja. The moment you enter the temple premises, you feel a deep sense of peace and devotion. The architecture is stunning, with beautifully carved gopurams, intricate sculptures, and a calm temple atmosphere that instantly soothes the mind. The Rahu–Ketu pooja is well-organized, and priests guide devotees clearly through the process. It is advisable to visit on weekdays to avoid long queues, as weekends and festival days can be very crowded. The temple surroundings are clean, and facilities have improved over the years, though parking and crowd management can still be challenging during peak hours. The river flowing beside the temple adds to the scenic charm and enhances the spiritual experience. Local shops outside sell pooja items and prasadam at reasonable prices. Overall, Srikalahasti Temple is a must-visit for anyone seeking spiritual upliftment and divine blessings. A peaceful, soul-refreshing experience that stays with you long after the visit.

A Must-Visit Temple Near Tirupati — Truly Divine Experience Sri Kalahasti Temple is an absolute gem. If you’re visiting Tirupati Balaji, I highly recommend coming here — honestly, this place felt even more peaceful and powerful. The temple architecture is stunning and so detailed that it stays in your memory for life. The energy inside the main sanctum is incredible. The entire temple complex sits beautifully near the hills, and you can even visit the ancient Kannappa temple above, along with the sculptures of Shiva and Parvati — the vibe is unreal. If you’re someone who values spirituality, history, or just wants a place that feels pure and divine, Kala Hasti is worth every minute. Don’t miss it ✨

My first visit was about 18 years ago, and I've seen so many wonderful changes since then. It’s truly inspiring to witness how things have evolved over the years, along with the fantastic improvements in accommodation facilities. Now, there’s a world-class road almost leading directly to the temple, making the journey easier. After doing the Rahu-Kethu pooja, I always feel light and peaceful, which is such a comforting experience.

Kalahasteeswara Temple, represents Vayu- Wind element of Paanch Bhoota Sthalams. As remaining four temples, this too is located at 79* Longitude, on banks of Swarnamukhi River. Carved in based of a rocky hill, the expanse, architectural features are amazing. Regrettably, pictures of inside this wonderful temple are not allowed. Four gates grant access to temple premises. Lines are free and paid darshan. Well marked routes, and barriers make for easy access. Subtle pathway lighting and traditional wick lighting of the Gods in inner sanctum is beautiful. Amongst the most awe inspiring temples.

A powerful and spiritually enriching experience at one of South India's most significant Shiva temples. As a Pancha Bhoota Sthalam representing the element of Air (Vayu), the sight of the lamp flickering inside the sealed sanctum is truly mystical and unique to this shrine. The temple is famously known for the Rahu Ketu Sarpa Dosha Nivarana Pooja, which is conducted efficiently by the priests despite the large crowds; however, I highly recommend purchasing tickets in advance or visiting on a weekday to avoid long wait times. The ancient architecture is breathtaking, featuring intricate carvings and massive Gopurams that create a divine atmosphere the moment you enter. While the queue for the main darshan of Lord Srikalahasteeswara and Goddess Gnana Prasunambika can be long, the spiritual vibration and the sense of peace you feel make it absolutely worth the visit.
