This is the ancient spice trading hub heavily influenced by Portuguese, Dutch and English. In this city, there is Taj Malabar Resort and Spa, situated on the serene Willingdon Island, overlooking the picturesque Cochin harbour. Beautiful property - a blend of Victorian style structure with modern amenities. The moment you step inside the reception lobby, the warm welcome melts your heart. The welcome dance, the flute fill your heart with joy... Taj hospitality is unique... Special mention of Elizabeth for her care, warmth and her oration is remarkable. Evening boat ride with her was full of history and culture of the whole township. The ships, the harbour, the sea and Elizabeth makes Taj Malabar a must visit... How can I not mention others who made my 3 days' stay at Taj Malabar unique? Alex, Sabnam, Mani, Anoop, Ajit, Abinash and Adi... The person whom I mentioned, the names which I did not, all made my stay wonderful. Always look forward to stay at a Taj, my second home. The food. the warmth, the ambience makes Taj Malabar resort and spa simply fascinating.

**Review of Taj Malabar Resort & Spa, Kochi** I stayed at Taj Malabar, Kochi on May 30 and 31, on my way to Munnar. This was my third stay at the hotel — once before the renovation, once during the renovation, and now after the renovation. What brings me back to this hotel whenever I pass through Kochi is its location. It is beautifully placed at the tip of Willingdon Island, with a calm and open view of the water. We had booked a sunset-view room, and the room was well done, with pleasant décor, plenty of natural light, and two large French windows. The bathroom has been very nicely redesigned. The addition of a marble slab, which can be used either to sit or to rest one’s leg, is a thoughtful detail. The position of the hairdryer is also convenient, and the toiletries were functional. One area that needs attention is the placement of the kettle. It is kept inside a drawer, and after heating water for two cups of tea, it becomes quite difficult to remove and handle safely. Someone from the hotel should try using it in this position to appreciate the inconvenience. Another disappointment was that the open-air restaurant was still not functional, as was the case during the renovation. The staff at reception, housekeeping, and Pepper restaurant were helpful and efficient. Check-in and check-out were smooth. Overall, Taj Malabar remains a hotel I like returning to for its location, understated charm, and service, though a few practical details could be improved.

Taj Malabar Resort & Spa is truly an exquisite experience — a beautifully maintained property that offers the perfect space to relax and unwind while being surrounded by serene waters. The unique island location itself instantly creates a calm holiday mood and a sense of escape from the bustle of the city. What stands out equally is the exceptional hospitality of the staff. A special mention to Mr. Suriya at the Pepper restaurant, whose warmth and attentive care made us feel genuinely welcome. His thoughtful guidance, especially in understanding and catering to the tastes and comfort of my granddaughter, added a very personal touch to our stay and made the dining experience even more memorable. Also Shabnam, who was efficiently guiding guests even during crowded hours is appreciated!

This hotel is exquisite and the staff went above and beyond to ensure happiness of every guest. The property is phenomenal, any concern I had was handled with the utmost care and consideration. As an avid traveller, I have nothing but great things to say about this property and their staff. The spa is also beyond attentive to every need you have. Most importantly, when I didn’t feel well, the hotel everything in their power to make me feel better, even called in a doctor. Next, the restaurants at the property, are excellent. I was craving fried fish and they went out and made it for me the way I like it. The speed boat tour is my favourite activity. What else can I say besides they are awesome!

My father in law works in Taj Coromandel Chennai and he decided to surprise us with a beautiful stay here at Taj Malabar Resort and Spa. To be honest, it’s been a wonderful stay here with such stunning visuals of landscape that keeps you wanting for more. The food, the rooms all do justice to what Taj always excels in. Elizabeth greeted us on the front desk and was very polite, ready to assist and always had a smile on her face. Everyone who is at the hotel always try their best to make sure that we are comfortable at all times. The amenities are well placed, but I genuinely feel they can make the gym a little bigger if possible, given that the property is a 5-star. Overall, I am really happy and wish to come back again. Keep up the good work guys.

Best tourist attraction. My family and I recently vacationed there although the room got too cold as the thermostat didn't work, overall it was an amazing experience and killer views. The staff were friendly and helpful attending to our needs. Absolutely good food 😋. The Taj Hotel is definitely a must to experience once in a lifetime.

What an experience it has been at Taj Malabar!! From the food, staff, and room service to the extracurricular activities(the boat ride, Bharatanatyam performance, and high tea) everything was truly 10/10. The location of the property, facing the serene ocean, made the experience even more special and relaxing. Our trip to Cochin became memorable because of Taj. My 3-year-old absolutely loved the stay as well. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality and unforgettable memories!

I had a truly enriching yoga session at Taj Malabar, Kochi with Mr. Sreejith. He demonstrated exceptional expertise in yoga, not only in postures and breathing techniques, but also in explaining the deeper connection between mind, body, and life itself. What stood out most was his calm presence, clarity of thought, and deep understanding of life philosophy. Every instruction was explained with purpose and awareness, making the session feel much more than just physical exercise. His knowledge, patience, and ability to connect ancient yogic principles with modern-day stress and lifestyle challenges were genuinely impressive. The session left me feeling mentally relaxed, physically refreshed, and internally balanced. Mr. Sreejith’s passion for yoga and holistic wellbeing truly reflects in the way he teaches. A memorable experience and definitely one of the highlights of my stay at Taj Malabar, Kochi.

Great location. Luxurious hotel. Has heritage floor which looks plush. Room is spacious and comfortable. Hotel looks great from outside. You can even take a walk along the backwaters channel. But the view from the room was terrible as the window didn't face the backwaters. Also there was a room between my room and the next room which didn't give the privacy. You could hear the conversation from the room next

We were warmly welcomed by the Guest Relations Manager Ms Elizabeth Mookken, whose passion for Cochin's history and infectious enthusiasm set the tone for our stay. She expertly guided us through the hotel's highlights and escorted us to our beautifully appointed room, which boasted stunning harbor views, complete with boats gliding by and a picturesque village on the opposite bank. The housekeeping team was happy & eager to please and was efficient. The service at the Pepper and Rice Boat restaurant was top-notch. Speaking of which, dinner at the Rice Boat is a must – the ambiance is charming, and the restaurant host is a gem, helping you navigate the menu with ease. The manager of Pepper makes it a point to come around to check if all is fine. Breakfast at Pepper was delicious and our evening at the Mattancheri bar was made special by the barman's signature cocktail and the talented pianist's selection of melodies. The Spa was well appointed and relaxing . The reception & concierge team especially Jackson were consistently warm, helpful, and wonderful. The hotel organizes a tea n sunset cruise in the evenings which used to be complimentary but are sadly charging for the same. After the cruise the guests are invited to light the beautiful brass lamps in the hotel lobby with a short prayer and followed by a Kuchipudi dance show for half an hour. The entire staff are a true asset to the hotel and they make the hotel stay enjoyable .

Went to the restaurant for dinner only (did not stay at Taj). Beautiful outdoor setting, lovely staff and service - typical Taj hospitality, and great food. The architecture is reminiscent of Kerela and not a modern tall building, and I loved it. They have managed to retain the charm and heritage and provide luxury with it.

I have stayed in multiple properties offered by Taj across various places in India and I must say this is one of the top in my list based on experience. The view, the people, their hospitality, everything made our stay joyful. The staff were spontaneous and kind. Watching the ships from my room and from the gardens was picturesque - forever tattooed in my memory.

A fantastic second stay at the Taj Malabar and I’m sure there will be a third. The property has been beautifully renovated, the rooms are very comfortable and the service from all staff is excellent. Special credit to the bar team and their unique cocktails, and Chef Nikil and his team who accommodated our vegan dietary preferences; the Rice Boat is a beautiful setting for delicious food by the backwaters.

The food was delicious, with great variety and excellent quality, every meal was a delight. What really stood out was the superb service. The staff was warm, courteous, and very attentive, making us feel genuinely welcomed and well taken care of throughout our stay. Taj Malabar Kochi Restaurant is one of those rare places where everything just comes together beautifully, from the location to the ambience and the food. Located right in the heart of the city, it’s easy to find and perfect for both casual meals and family gatherings. The ambience is warm and inviting, with a touch of coastal charm that instantly relaxes you. The interiors are clean, tastefully done, and reflect the essence of Kerala’s culture and hospitality. The food was the true highlight, authentic, flavorful, and prepared with great care. Every dish, from the Malabar biryani to the seafood specials, carried the rich taste of traditional spices without being overpowering. The portions were generous, and the presentation added a nice touch. A perfect place to experience Kerala’s cuisine in a serene and welcoming setting. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Kochi.

We celebrated my parents’ wedding anniversary there, and the team made the occasion truly special for us.The dinner was beautifully arranged, and they even surprised us with a delicious chocolate cake, which added such a thoughtful touch to the celebration.The hospitality throughout our stay was exceptional. Taj Malabar is more than just a beautiful resort — it’s a place where hospitality feels personal, time slows down, and every detail is thoughtfully curated. Good property. Their services specially at evening dolphin point area need to be like Taj. I feel the senior people working that place needs to be vigorously trained for the behavioural improvement. May be they are overtly pressed for the Buissness in their area but that makes the guest annoyed. Other area services are excellent. Specially Mr Avishek Mukherjee is outstanding. Hope next time will see a better place to spend there.

Outstanding hotel. Beautiful reception areas and very attentive staff. Staff to guest ratio very high. It’s a bit away from everything else - there isn’t really anything close to it bit the beauty of the location makes up for that and both uber travel, the ferry’s and a Taj car are pretty low cost to get around. The hotel even has a speed boat that can whizz you across to Fort Kochi
