Best beach we saw by far with very little crowds or none especially in the morning and pristine sand and water. More local than touristy but still the energy is amazing 😻 not to be missed

Tangalle Beach is absolutely stunning! The long stretch of golden sand, turquoise water, and peaceful atmosphere make it one of the best beaches I’ve visited in Sri Lanka. It’s much quieter than the more touristy areas, which makes it perfect for relaxing, swimming, and watching incredible sunsets. The locals are friendly, and there are plenty of cozy cafés and beach huts nearby. A perfect spot for anyone looking to unwind.

Had an amazing time at Rakawa Kalapuwa! Rowing the boats was so much fun and the scenery around was absolutely beautiful. A perfect spot for adventure and relaxation!

Plaże w Tangalle są przepiękne i ciągną się kilometrami tylko musicie oddalić się od miejskiej plaży z milionem knajpek. Chyba że akurat taki klimat Wam odpowiada to też będziecie zadowoleni bo plaża czysta, szeroko i z możliwością kąpieli w oceanie przez naturalne falochrony.

A nice wave protected beach, suitable for the whole family. Sandy beach many locals use to bathe in the ocean and you can have a nice chat with them, as they are very friendly and open, they also teach you some language 😀. There is also a restaurant near by where we had the best spicy seafood kotu.

Local part of the tangalle beach. Not too touristy. It's quite a small beach, but plenty of room. The sea is not wild and suitable for swimming. There are some trees, so you can hide in the shade which is very nice. The constant sea breeze is great. Very refreshing. Nearby, there's a juice bar and they serve juices with ice cream. Amazing

A good beach for swimming and relaxing. I saw a lot of locals and a few foreigners. I can recommend it to anyone.

It's okay. Strong wind cause strong waves. Bit of wild beach suits for surfing not for child playing.

We left Colombo around 5.30am and we reached Tangalle rock pools in approximately 2 hours on the highway. Tip: Make sure you're there by 6.30am or 7, because by around 10am the waves are rough and it can get really warm. There were rectangular rock pools teeming with a variety of fish and crabs. The water was crystal clear and the beach was pristine, with beautiful patterns of coral formations on the exposed rocks. So much to explore! Take goggles, snorkeling gear, and swimwear. We love this place!

It is a very beautiful beach. If you are looking for a quiet beach, this is not the place for you. The reason is that many people come to this beach to watch and swim. Most of them are local tourists. But you can have fun with your family. The water is quite dirty. If you come here to swim, you also have normal facilities to washout sea water. In my opinion, if you have not been here before, you can definitely choose this as a destination.

Small beach located very close to thangalle town. Usually a crowded place. Has easy access and car parking available. They charge 150 rupeers per car which is not fair at all for a beach like this. If you plan only walk on beach there are enough better nearby places. But this place is ideal for sea bathing. There are life guards available.

Großer Strand entlang Tangalle. Aktuell fast Menschenleer. Auch einige Restaurants haben wohl gerade nicht auf aber hin und wieder sieht man dann doch noch eines das offen hat. Wir haben es uns unter den Palmen im Schatten gemütlich gemacht.

Selten so einen fast menschenleeren endlosen Palmenbesäumten Strand gesehen, am Ende mit Riesen-Schildkröten!
