Taste of Malvan

Nice big restaurant in Mahakali. Their mutton thali needs some work flavour wise, it wasn't the best. The prawns thali was decent for the price point, it was served with prawns curry, dried small prawns, a separate bowl of just some curry, and sol kadhi. Sol kadhi was missing the tang that you usually find in it, maybe it was just that day it wasn't made welll. They're getting a better rating for their service though, the staff is super attentive and very sweet. They'll hear out your feedback and offer a solution if they can. Next time I'm going to try their ala carte. P.S they really need to work on their lighting, it's way too dark up there.

Great place for traditional malwani food. Definitely try the batter fry prawns and the stuffed bombil fry. Their curries too are very tasty and not too spicy unlike other places. Overall lovely place to have a weekend lunch.

Visited Taste of Malvan recently and had a generally good experience. While the customer service could have been a bit better – it was slightly slow and inattentive – the overall dining experience was satisfying. The food definitely stood out. I tried the Vegetable Biryani, Pomfret Fry, and Bombil Rava Fry – all were delicious and packed with authentic coastal flavors. The seafood, especially the Pomfret, was well-cooked and flavorful. For drinks, I had the Dancing Queen cocktail and Bacardi Black Rum – both were enjoyable and paired well with the food. Would recommend for the food quality and taste, but there's some room for improvement in the service department.

Service was very bad!!!! Very very bad!! Service staff named - vijaydas was very rude and arrogant. He was literally insulting customers. We asked to serve hot food, he just started asking us do you know recipe of this dish. Bahot faltu staff hai. Not recommended. He also don’t know basic manners and he has hotel management??? I doubt because my jiju told he is chef he knows how food is served, he started arguing, he doesn’t know that rule no.: 01 in hotel management is GUEST IS GOD!. Very bad staff

I ordered Chicken Malvani Masala from this restaurant today after checking the reviews, but it turned out to be a complete disappointment. The taste was extremely poor. It felt like the chicken was pre-boiled in water and then later added to the gravy, which gave off a strong boiled smell while eating. Because of this, the overall flavor was very unpleasant and didn’t feel fresh or properly cooked in the masala. Definitely not what you expect from a Malvani dish. Would not recommend any chicken dishs at all.

I had an incredible experience with my friends at this restaurant. The fish thalis were budget-friendly and delicious, accompanied by mouth-watering 🤤 fish and crab starters. The authentic sole curry was a particular standout, and the ambience of the restaurant added to the overall enjoyment of the evening. I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a delightful dining experience.

I am a regular customer here, I have tried nearly every item on the menu twice. reason being, service is excellent, food quantity and quality is top notch, prices are reasonable, the environment is great, overall, a great experience. Please visit here you will not be disappointed!

One more authentic Malvani restaurant in our list now. Food is awesome. Note: Thali is served only between 12-3-30PM from Monday to Saturday. Sunday, they dont serv thali. We went for dinner so didnt get to order Thali so we decided to order all items separately. We ordered, 1. Tandoor Pomfret - it was delicious. Cost around 800-900 2. Surmai Rawa fry - was ok. They served with Green chutney which was nice. It cost INR 450 3.Fish curry was also nice. 4. Jawla - this was tasty. One must try this. 5. Bhakri (rice) - this could have been better. Wasnt near to actual bhakri. 6.Solkadhi - just delicious. Size of the fish will vary in thali and will not the of same size what we ordered. Place and ambience is nice. Service is good. They serv alcohol as well.

We ordered prawns koliwada, they were very fresh sea prawns, very tasty Then came tisrya sukke, very tasty Bombil rawa fry tempting, squeeze lemon on it Prawns goan curry very authentic, added a pinch of salt Kaju kothmir wadi was good but didnt find kaju Best of all was Mutton Alani Rice which Sahil specially got it made for us

Food was really amazing. The staffs especially Mr Lakshmi Narayanan has been a great host for the dinner.. Would recommend this place.

Nice restaurant.the thali is served here is till 3.30 pm. Fish is too good we had tandoori pomfret and it was yummy. Also they served drinks as well. The curry which we order was also good. And the rava fry surmai was tooo yumm. We can not taste the thali, but what we ordered was awesome. You can alsobtry their solkadhi for refreshment.

I had recently visited the restaurant and i must say the ambiance is so good and livingly..food wise … we ordered veg food due to shrawan and veg food was okay..painting on walls reminds me of lovely sightseeing of konkan ..must visit with friends and family

Place is Good.. But rate is high... They charge waterbottle 39 rs singal.. Instead of 20 rs.. No variety in veg.. Veg thali is.. Ok.. Ok..

The food was absolutely delicious! I had prawns tawa Bombil fry, and each bite was bursting with flavor. The Prawns tawa was particularly outstanding, with a perfect balance of spices and fresh ingredients. It’s clear that the chefs take great care in preparing every dish

Worst service ,name is test of malwan and restaurant is south Indian, ,worst biryani in my life as sweet biryani as white rice ie missed with chicken sweat curry. Fish item is not available, they said come on afternoon you will get fish thali and other items. I am very disappointed in name of Maharastra in non veg foods.wrost

One of the worst places I’ve been to. We ordered many items based on the reviews, including chicken lapeta, but it was served like chicken sukha with scrambled egg on top 😜—completely tasteless. We also ordered bombil fry, but it was almost the size of surmai, which ruined the crispiness. This is definitely not Malvani style food. It feels more like a regular bar serving chakna—once people are drunk, they don’t really care about the taste anyway. We couldn’t even finish our food. I would not recommend such hotels where the cooks don’t know how to prepare food and focus only on quick service, which completely ruins the taste.
