Tehan Homestay is a great place to stay in Weligama. The room was extremely clean, with hot water and air conditioning, which made the stay very comfortable. The location is excellent, and for the price, it’s fantastic value. Tehan and his family are wonderful hosts, very kind, welcoming, and always happy to help. You really feel looked after staying here, which makes a big difference. Overall, it’s a very good place to stay with great hospitality, a great location, and an affordable price. I’d happily stay here again.

Me and my girlfriend stayed here for 4 days, and we are on a budget, so what we got was perfect. We had food poison for 2 days, and the family helped us so much! Their son drove us to hospital and back, and came with medicine to us, without we had to pay for it! They were so sweet when it came to everything. In those times it means so much! So if ur looking for some budget friendly, this is a perfect place to be. Thank you guys! Will come back if I ever come back to hirikeitya!❤️❤️

Tehan Homestay was a beautiful experience. I had the family room all to myself for one night, and it was perfect. The room had everything I needed, was very clean, and felt comfortable and calm. Falling asleep to the sound of the waves was something special. The family is absolutely fantastic — incredibly friendly, loving, and welcoming. You immediately feel at home. I can highly recommend staying here.

Adored my three days at Tehan Homestay. Perfectly situated right next to Hiriketiya for surfing and tourism and Blue Beach for quiet and residential vibe. Tehan is a great host and had a scooter to rent. Highly recommend if you’re looking for something simple.

This place is very budget friendly, if you don’t mind roughing it then fine. Before booking I read reviews about bugs & small critters in the rooms and people are not wrong. A mouse entered my room the shower drain and there were poo droppings. Despite this, great location and good price.

The best quite place possible! Tehan speaks good english, has all info you need. You are in the quite place and still 5 min from the main surfers beach! The courtyard with the view to the ocean is a miraculous place to relax and have breakfast or dinner! Goid choice for that price! All the best to Tehan who helps his parents by running this place!

Tehan and his parents were absolutely wonderful. Tehan will bend over backwards for you, and run to town and get you stuff if you need. His parents, tended to our 6 month old, when we needed a short break. The property has a wonderful ocean view, and there is a short trail you can take to a rocky coast , where you can watch the waves smash into the rocks, as the crabs scurry. The rooms are simple , but homey and clean. I suggest you stay here if you want a nice quite, friendly place. There are only 3 rooms.but lots of friendly people seem to be around.

So nice place! Nice Tehan and his family!!! The room is small, but you do nort really need it because the terrace to the ocean has a marvelous view!!! I guess one of the most beautifull here because of the hill. It is just 500m from the main beach and also ver quite - you don't hear the sound from the bars. Tehan is very friendly, speaks Englush well and is very helpfull. He has his own Tuk tuk, so you have vert cheap taxi at your doors!

We stayed for 4 nights at Tehan Homestay. Overall it was a nice stay. The room is basic, but good. There are occasional critters like everywhere is Asia. Aircon is a great plus. The bed is comfy, bathroom huge. Wifi work great. The covered outdoor space is nice. There is a long clothes line to dry stuff. The family lives on the property and they are super kind and friendly. They organised a scooter for us and they also have a tuktuk. They also have 3 cute dogs. The location is great. A bit outside of the hustle of Hiriketiya, but still in walking distance.

Unfortunately the rooms here aren’t as advertised. The room was more like a garage or shed, full of insects as there were big gaps between the walls and roof. The bed was rock hard with scratchy bedsheets and there was just a broken fan no AC. We are flexible people but didn’t feel comfortable staying here so had to move to a hotel.

The house is good looking on a hill of a cliff of the sea. It has a good authentic vibe to it. It is very peaceful. It wasn’t just a house but surrounding by a spacious space with flowers and coconut trees around. The location is a bit far off but you get to enjoy the peace. The rooms are bit dusty, need a bit of renovation which seem fairly easy. The facilities are great: power sockets, adapters, a mirror table and all rooms have a porch with table and sufficient amount of chairs. There is a dog called Blacky which is the friendliest dog ever. There are also two cats and wild monkeys climbing around so you don’t need to be afraid of being too quiet. Tehan and his parents are nice. He is young and supper supportive. He got everything we needed which we didn’t even ask for. He took all recommendations and learned. I think that is very professional

I really loved my time at Tehan's homestay. You can hear the ocean and nighttime while you sleep, and it's very close to the beach. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. I moved into the family room which was spacious and I really liked it. Each room has its own little space to sit outside, so you have privacy and some independance which is important for me. Tehan and his family are lovely and very sweet and I would definitely recommend and I would stay again.

18$? Common, this place needs a lot of renovation, some care, has potential but is not worthy sorry. Mold in the bathroom, the roof is not completely covered, very old mosquito net and with too many holes so you feel some 6 legs friends in your back at night. I mean, it is very very basic. Also they start a noisy machine at 6.30am and we had to jump the fence at night because they closed the place at 22:30. Sorry but we can't recommend it and it was the worst place we stayed in our holidays I Sri Lanka. So note for the owners, reduce the price or make a serious renovation.

Its amazing. Just book this place. Im a solo female backpacker and it was amazing! The quietness, privacy, sea / palm tree views, atmosphere. It was 5 min walk to beach, and the perfect little retreat for a solo female! Tehan and his family were amazing, always smiling, humble, respected my privacy, but always there if I need something. Brought me my tea every morning as I woke up on the patio and watched the family of monkeys monkeying around! I had the family room and It was quite majestic! I extended my stay from 4 to 9 nights because it was so hard to leave! He helped me with tuktuk rides, and rented me a scooter from their home. The rocks across the streets are amazing to sit and enjoy - no people and just so so beautiful! Try brunch at Belika next door for a treat and for a dip in the pool! Its the perfect place to stay! This is a homestay and not a fancy apartment, but it was the most perfect. Felt like I was in real Sri Lanka, opposed to other more western accommodation, which I like. I cant recommend it enough! Truly so thankful for my time there :) Cant beat the price for the peace that you get :) *Just a note - a kitchen to cook was not available but it there was plenty of food options a short walk away (try the veggies Samosas at the orange food truck at the far end of the beach and snag a beach lounger!)

Bester Ort in Hiritekiya!! Durch dieses wunderschön gelegene Guesthouse mit dem tollen Garten und der super hilfsbereiten und unaufdringlichen Familie von Tehan hatten wir eine wundervolle Zeit, man schaut direkt aufs Meer von der Terrasse aus. Tehan erfüllt jeden Wunsch. Etwas abseits vom Ort kann man richtig die Seele baumeln lassen. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Well, off season is always special. But we booked for 3 nights, left after 1, had to pay for 3 and were scammed with the taxi ride to the next train station. Anyhow, we cannot follow the status of a 3 star hotel. The room does not deserve the label “family room”. The access is so bumpy that all the PickMe drivers cancelled as soon as they came closer - and the only one really coming here magically left without us after having a conversation with the hostel owner. If you are just looking for a roof over your head, ok. Even acknowledging the south coast being far overpriced, this is just too much.

For a budget family travel, tehan homestay is a deal for us. We are a family of 3 (with a 6month old baby).they have Decent rooms with air-conditioning, cheap food and great hospitality. Tehan's family sometimes babysit our baby so its a plus 😅 thank you auntie and uncle -atlas

There were cockroaches and many ants in the room and the towels smelled like cat pee. Every morning around 6am I heard the family talking and woke up. But the view from the garden is nice.

The place is beautiful views over the sea. Tehan wonderful person, and a very safe tuk tuk driver. Easy walk to beach’s.
