The Monk Indo Chinese Restaurant - Karama

Good food, good vibes/atmosphere and good service. Golden trio that any restaurant needs which The Monk does have. Enjoyed the food, my highlight being the Crispy Chicken with Spinach starter and the Monk special soup. Chicken woolly curry was nice too. Service was nice and the atmosphere was great for a nice couple's dinner. Would recommend going if you want to try a Indo Chinese restaurant that ticks all the boxes but doesn't excel in any particular aspect.

It’s tough to get really good Indo Chinese food in Dubai and our hunt continues. The Monk @ Karama was again Ok without ever ascending to outstanding. The service was very good and the staff well trained. The decor and motif is pleasant. I would have given a 3.5 for the food but the ggogle reviews don’t allow for that. We tried the chicken man how soup, crispy lamb, chilly chicken and the chilly garlic noodles. They were all acceptably average. If you want to have a pleasant meal without busting your wallet and happen to in the Karama area with a hankering for info Chinese food, then you could try The Minks.

Great food & service!! We were suggested by our server, Abhishek, to have the crispy chicken with spinach and it was indeed delish!! We also ordered The monk’s special soup,Shanghai fried rice and duck in pepper sauce. 🙂

The food was fantastic. Right from the chicken spinach appetiser to the main course. Mr. Prabin was really wonderful and made us feel comfortable. Mr. Abhishek served us on time and was kind and gentle! We will definitely come again and recommend the food we had to our family and friends.

My family and I can in at the last order. The staff was so sweet and polite and took us in. And served us delicious indo Chinese food. We had manchow soup, lemon coriander soup, crispy beef, burnt garlic fried rice, dan mie noodles, and chilli garlic noodles. My only suggestion would be don’t over fry the beef.

Recently I visited The Monk Karama, and I’ve been visiting regularly for a long time. I was very happy with the food and the service. Thank you to the team for maintaining such great standards.

Food is tasty and nice. Variety of foods available. Good Chinese restaurant. However price on slightly higher side.

It was genuinely disappointing to witness the way delivery riders are being treated at your Karama outlet. Displaying a notice that riders are not allowed inside the restaurant and must wait outside sends a very poor message about how people are valued and respected. These riders are an essential part of your business operations. They spend long hours on the road, often in extreme heat, ensuring orders reach customers on time. Treating them differently or making them feel unwelcome is unfair and lacks basic human empathy. What made this even more upsetting was seeing riders standing outside while other customers were comfortably inside. Policies like this create an image that certain people deserve less respect simply because of the job they do. That should never be the case in any establishment that values hospitality and customer service. Because of this experience, I honestly do not feel comfortable revisiting or recommending your restaurant to others. I strongly urge the management to rethink this approach, remove the notice, and ensure all individuals entering your premises customers, staff, or riders are treated with dignity and respect. Hospitality is not only about serving food; it is about how you treat people.

Craving some Chinese and fresh vegetables, we tried out The Monk in Al Karama. It was the perfect choice. It’s a beautiful restaurant and the service was excellent. We had the Szechuan Noodles and the Stir-fried Chinese Greens. Both were delightful and went perfectly together. There were condiments on the side to add a bit more heat. And as you can see from the final pic, we didn’t leave a bite! We will definitely be coming back.

One of the best Indo Chinese restaurants in Karama, the quality as well as the quantity of the food is very good, not too expensive also.

Truly authentic Chinese restaurant in Dubai. This was my third visit, and I continue to be impressed by the consistency they maintain in terms of food quality. While the available space is somewhat limited, the interior is impeccably clean, creating a pleasant dining atmosphere. For Chinese food lovers, this is a must-visit restaurant. Their crispy chicken, fried rice, and noodles are consistently perfectly cooked and delicious. However, I found the garlic chicken to be just okay; I hope they can improve that dish in the future. Overall, a great place for an authentic Chinese dining experience.

Today, we had such a great time at The Monk with colleagues! The food was honestly amazing. Everything we ordered was so good and full of flavor. We left super satisfied. Big shoutout to the chef for the delicious dishes, and the staff for being so friendly and giving us really great service. Definitely coming back!

We visited this restaurant with our family group of around 12–15 people, including children and elders. The food was good and we appreciated the taste and quality served. However, our overall experience was spoiled because of the behavior of one supervisor named Mr. Praveen. His attitude towards customers was very rude and disrespectful throughout our visit. Even for small requests like extra tissues, forks, or other basic items, he refused or responded in an unpleasant manner. Hospitality businesses should have staff who are polite, welcoming, and respectful towards guests, especially when serving families and large groups. Unfortunately, his loud and unprofessional behavior made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. We hope the management takes this feedback seriously and improves customer service standards, because good food alone is not enough when the service experience is disappointing.

We visited the monk for dinner during the weekend. We ordered the veg dimsums, chicken tengda and Dan mein noodles. Everything was really delicious. Loved how the food was not extremely oily. Also their portions are quite good. Also the staff is really polite and attentive. Highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking to enjoy some good quality Chinese food.
